Could I enchant 'clothing' as a shield?

Rynjin |

Yeah, go ahead and grab the feat. If you can, link it in the character sheet so it's easy to keep track of for future bookkeeping—ACs are the sort of thing I need to be able to easily double-check to make sure all buffs are in order.
I believe that Urban and Jungle will both see some use.
Sweet. Not sure whether I want to take it this level, or at 11th. Earlier the better, probably.
Neat. Jungle has a pretty solid Terrain Mastery ability (+4 CMD vs Grapple), so not bad. Will do Urban this level though, since it's probably better as a Terrain outright.
I'm working on leveling Tanith now. I've settled on Perfect Style as the feat.
I'm not sure what's going to be Tanith's go-to 3rd level spell. I was considering magic vestment but he mostly relies on Rodrigo's mage armor. If he magic vestment's his kilt would that stack with the mage armor?
3rd level's kind of a blah level for self-buff spells on the Cleric list. Life Shield might be a good one though, since we'll probably be facing more and more Kyuss Zombies and their ilk as time goes on.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

I settled on Channel Vigor.
Tanith Level 9 (Warpriest 7)
9 hp
2 skill points (knowledge [religion] and diplomacy)
+1 BAB
Ki Pool (4 points per day)
1 3rd level spell slot per day
Feat: Perfect Style [Untwisting Iron]

Rynjin |

Oh, Rynjin, Cold might have some use, but I'm pretty sure it will only come up in one installment at most. Probably not worth it to you.
Probably not, though i do get a LOT of Favored Terrains (7 total by 18th, and more are available via Extra Slayer Talent).
Will Swamp ever be relevant? I plan on taking it at some point anyway to get Tremorsense, but if it works too, that's cool.

Great Potion for the Eternal Potion Discovery, not as excellent as your only Extract IMO.
I might consider Amplify Elixir if you want to start using potions or elixirs.
Well, most of our fights tend to end in a matter of rounds anyway...
And I've already got the Amplify Elixir extract from Elsaroth's book. :)

Fights, yes, but we usually have a lot of fights.
Still, it basically makes you untouchable for the duration of one combat, so it's your call. It's not a bad spell, I'm just not a big fan of round/level stuff mostly.

Carina Viera |

I'll save it for big boss fights. :)
And here's the rub... now that I have Amplify Elixir, would I be able to brew potions of displacement and have Amplify Elixir extend their durations?

Astraden Limhaare |

Astraden Level 9
Cleric 6/soul warden 1/cleric 1/soul warden 1
Feat: Selective Channeling
5+1+1 hp
Spellcasting: CL +1, concentration +1, +1 2nd-level spell, +1 5th-level spell
BAB +1
Favored class +1 skill point
2+1+1+1 skill points: +2 ranks Appraise, +2 ranks Spellcraft, +1 rank Perception
+1d6 on channel damage against undead (actually, wondering if I misinterpreted this earlier - it looks like I only get 1d6 with channel damage, and then only get to count soul warden levels for channel energy against undead)
Channel casting
Corpse whisperer
9 action points

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

That's exactly how I've always read it.
For purposes of healing Astraden's a 7th level cleric. For purposes of harming undead she's a 9th level cleric.

![]() |

Yeah. Actually I think I noticed the latter part when I first dipped into the class but forgot because last level it didn't make a difference, and last level was reallyyyyy long.
Also, for some reason I had listed my Fort save as +2 Con+5+1 base=+8, but I didn't actually get the Fortitude +1 from soul warden until this level. Sorry about that KC.
edit: Jeez I screwed up that above post. In addition to missing the new save bonuses (+1 Fort, Ref), my feat should actually be Improved Channel, and I only get 2+1+1 skills (so 1 rank of Spellcraft is dropped).

Rynjin |

Good news and bad news for Tanith.
Good news: The Sacred Fist's AC Bonus is now Dodge instead of Defelection so it stacks with Shield of Faith and rings and whatnot.
Bad news, your Warpriest level no longer counts as your BaB when Flurrying. Because Paizo hates even classes that vaguely resemble Monk.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

But monk is still full BaB for some reason.
KC what's your stance on the eratta? I'm good with ignoring the whole thing.

Carina Viera |

Just throwing this out there... today's my birthday. :)

DankeSean RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32, 2011 Top 4 |

Considering the last time someone announced their birthday here, KC immediately doused Tanith with scorching rays and then Feral wound up in the actual hospital, I'm not sure of the wisdom in announcing this.
Nevertheless, have a happy birthday. While you still can.

Happy Birthday!
(Please don't send me to the hospital again I can't afford it.)

I gotta head to bed now, but if we're not waiting on Rodrigo to make the roll (if we're having KC NPC him), assume Astraden keeps the bull's strength preparation. It doesn't sound like he's going to need it. If you do want it, Jelani, just say you're including it in your roll and I'll mark off the spell.
Looks like you escaped the birthday hospital trip, DC!

Carina Viera |

Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys. :D

Carina Viera |

...I'd have settled for getting Occult Adventures...

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

What are the odds of stuff happening tonight? Otherwise I have some vodka and Smash Bros waiting for me.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

To start we should wait for Rodrigo to check in and roll an action point. If that still fails our only option is to do it the 'hard way' which involves praying for consecutive high rolls on a channel from Astraden and dispel check from Carina's bomb. If that also fails (or we decide not to risk it) we get to watch Greyhawk endure it's undead apocalypse.
Wish me luck, I'm learning Charizard!

Rynjin |

Somehow I doubt a CL check of 24 will cut it, and that's assuming he maxes his AP roll. I imagine we're looking at a 30, at least, since this is something that needs high level magic to take down. Were we high enough level to actually CAST Disintegrate, the check would be fairly simple, but we're not.
Unless I missed something, this isn't some binary "We stop it now or everybody's f+%#ed" scenario. We can kill it after it breaks loose, but before it reaches the surface, potentially.
But have fun with Charizard. Wish I had Sm4sh.

Carina Viera |

Well, if it somehow doesn't get loose after the final round, would it be possible for us to still go down there afterwards and try to kill it again?

DankeSean RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32, 2011 Top 4 |

Or, we could accept the things we've already learned, to wit:
Zahol is the one who read the scrolls and did the summoning.
The one who did the summoning is the one who unleashes the apostle.
Or, as long as the summoner is alive, the aposlte keeps growing til it's done 'baking' at which point it emerges and does Evil Stuff.
Zahol is dead.
Therefore, the ulgurstasta doesn't become an apostle, but instead gets stuck inside its bubble, gets weaker day by day, and eventually the bubble comes down and it's just a standard ulgurstasta instead of an apostle of Kyuss.
Apocalypse deferred.
There's still a horrible abomination lurking underneath the arena, and we should do something about that at some point, but I don't think it's anything to sweat over now.
Honestly I get the feeling we came at this adventure from a different way than was intended; given how comparatively difficult our back-door sewer route into the shrine was to find and travel, I feel like we were supposed to have a longer and more convoluted sneaky-time exploration of the arena understructure and find the wine cellar secert door entrance to the shrine later, which means we would have found and fought Zahol closer to the Apostle-burting date, instead of on night 2. The fact that we've had as much thumb-twiddling time after what seems to be the BBEG died makes it seem like the resolution to this adventure is more complex than it is, at this point.
Personally, I think the only thing left to do in the adventure (aside from the speed bump that is Auric & Khellek) is kicking Raknian's ass.

Carina Viera |

Honestly I get the feeling we came at this adventure from a different way than was intended;
Let's be fair--I think that would sum up how this AP has gone so far. :)

Rynjin |

Well, from a metagame point of view, Zahol made his save against Astraden's Speak With Dead, and made several Bluff checks which we failed to see through, so all bets are off.
However, none of our characters know that, so for all they know they're tilting at windmills here.
I'm like 90% sure Raknian's wizardly buddy is the scroll reader, but of course we have no proof (and no way to get it) since Zahol is dead.
So IC-wise, we should honestly just drop it and if the Urgulstasta destroys Greyhawk...oops. Because we have no reason to pursue this further in character. We should believe the problem is solved.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

I have no idea how I'm the only one following the plot this time. I'm supposed to be the one totally lost!
There are ways to let the thing out. Astraden named a few. We tried one of the less reliable ones but Raknian is rich and powerful. He can easily pay someone to come downstairs and spam disintergrates on the thing till it pops or even buy one of the super expensive auto-dispel items. Letting this go tonight is definitely a bad idea.
