DM Yodler |

Vladamir trips himself on some of the vine protruding from the ground near the wall. Hes stumble causes him to hit the wall with his shield.
You hear a distant voice. "Hey Bran did you hear something? I think it was over there by the garden." The cone of light from the lantern starts to swing towards the group on the ground.
What do you do?

Argan Midnight |

Hide back inside. With Darkness we could kill them, but it seems there are two of them, if one is on top of a wall we're screwed.

DM Yodler |

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Will roll vs Vladamirs totals since he is the only one that failed. Even the ogre is sneakier than you. Going to assume you weren't all grouped up and went one by one. Look at that they failed. Damn it would have been fun.
Vladamir dove into the vegetable garden to evade prying eyes. A last ditch effort to stay hidden. The guardsman scan the surrounding area around Vladamir. Looking for the source of the noise. After a minute of prying eyes casually scanning the courtyard. The light went away. "Must have been one of the lads going to relieve him self in the privy. Must have been getting deep into that rotgut."
"Yea probably Jaker, hes always taking deep swills."
Close one chaps. You make it to the southern tower. I'll get the map when I an actually get by a computer

Argan Midnight |

Are there guards on the walls? Cause if negative we can take these two right now!

Kharn The Binder |

Let's kill the warden first, and worry about the guards after. Also DM Yodler question about the Glaive. Since it has the reach quality could I give it to Grumblejack, and have him get 15-20 ft. reach? If that is possible that is what I would like to do after we get into the southern tower.

Argan Midnight |

Ok.

DM Yodler |

@kharn: don't see why not. makes sense, it still has the reduced damage. It would essentially double his reach to 20'. I will look into it deeper, for now ill allow it.
@Argan: There are two that you see at the time being up on the wall. You would still need to get to them, with the risk of sounding the alarm in the process if they hear you. If they have a signal horn.

Argan Midnight |

I will just move to the warden's tower with the others...

DM Yodler |

The base floor of the tower consists of a series of mostly uninteresting plaques that tell of nobles and deeds hardly anyone remembers anymore. There are also a number of banners and flags. One of the wall hangings is an old brocade tapestry that depicts Castle Branding being turned into a prison with the motto “His Judgment Cometh and that Right Soon”. There is a spiral stairway leading up to the second level. This room is lit by four sconces holding torches.

Eryan Duskwalker |

Eryan enters the tower quietly and looks around at the plaques curiously.
It seems Castle Branding has seen better times...
"Looks like the staircase is the only way up or down."

Vladamir Orlovsky |

My thoughts on the reach weapon.. An ogre has 10' with any weapon, a reach weapon would only add 5' to that for 15' total..
"Alrighty well lets get it done.." Vlad stalks up the staircase to the 2nd level..
Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Argan Midnight |

"Keep it low! Someone who's good with a bow should try to get the Owl, if there's really one. Moving on."
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Now please roll that 1 on perception to make things easier on us Yodler.

Eryan Duskwalker |

Stealth: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 8 - 2 = 10
Eryan removes his shield and places it against a wall, not feeling the use of a shield against a magic wielding opponent. Then he follows the others upstairs as quietly as he can.

Argan Midnight |

He's a wizard, he could be invisible beside us when we got in...

Kharn The Binder |

Stealth: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 2 = 19
Kharn follows the others trying to be quiet.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

For some reason i thought the armor was -1.. The shield wouldn't be worn when sttempting to stealth.. So +3 total.. It's onyly a move action to don/remove a shield so.. Well at least till i get a quickdraw one :)..

Kharn The Binder |

Well if this is the second floor then this is the floor with the door to the wall correct? If it is Kharn will lock the door before continuing.

Argan Midnight |

I vote for stealthy, but I don't think anyone wants it differently. Otherwise Argan will try to convince them of going smother.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

In general id say Kharn first due to higher perc.. Unless we're being stealthy then prob Argan.. Myself ill take 3rd with Eyran last until we get another arcane caster or Zephys

Argan Midnight |

Sounds good.

DM Yodler |

As Argan quietly opens the door into the room at the top of the stairs. You hear a voice call out. "I heard you coming from a mile away you oaf. Funny how loud a group can be especially when one of them is larger than a man. I knew it couldn't have been any of my associates. They only come alone." Finally seeing the door and the face behind it. His eyes widen. "Hope you enjoyed your breath of fresh air. You will be seeing your cell again soon enough"
At that moment you see his hands glowing with magic. As he cast a spell toward Argan.
DC 17 Will save there Argan.
Combat - Round 1
Initiative:
Mathias Richter: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Grumblejack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
Kharn: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Argan: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Eryan: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Vladamir: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
that was the surprise round for the warden there chaps. So starting with this order. Wow a one.
Eryan > Kharn > Vladamir > Grumblejack > Argan > Mathias

Argan Midnight |

So my spell resistance does not apply? So sad...
Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6 Who's regretting for not choosing the optimal trait?? Who?!?
Argan finds the Wizard's words too funny and begin laughing hysterically, rolling on the floor (ROTFL!), instantly covering his mouth to avoid making too much of a scene, but not very successful.
Who wants to bet he can be put down in the first round?

Argan Midnight |

My mom always told me I did.

Argan Midnight |

I know, thanks. You were not mad with the joke right? Cause you jumped right on it... ^_^

Vladamir Orlovsky |

I know im out of turn, but i figured there would still be room for Kharn to charge.. This guy shoulda had color spray or sleep memorized lol
Vlad charges the wizard.. Swift Action: Smite Good
Charge 2 Hand Attack-PA: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 +3 if good
Damage+PA: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 +1 if good
Boo Dice Roller!

Kharn The Binder |

Kharn is here, but I'm not going till Eryan goes just in case. Also does this guys have a weapon out or no?

DM Yodler |

@Vlad: you still have a Heavy Steel shield strapped to your arm. Would have to take the shield off to swing two handed I believe. Don't have a straight line to the warden as well. So you can't charge at the time being. So with PA and Smite, your total would be +8(+5 and +3 (Smite Evil)). Bad news, is that you only hit for 12(this includes the good damage).

Vladamir Orlovsky |

I said a while ago when stealthing around he doesnt wear his shield.. Its only a move action to take it on and off.. Oh and he cant charge than he doesnt hit AC 14..

Kharn The Binder |

Round 1 actions
Kharn moves past the warden hopefully having him swing at Kharn so his allies can move without provoking any attacks, and swings at the old coot.
Moving so that Kharn provokes an AoO. After AoO, Kharn will rage as a free action. So his AC after the AoO is 15, and hp is 14-(damage if warden hits).
Attack w/PA: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 5) + 12 = 18
Kharn begins laughing as his blade causes a large wound to appear in the warden's chest.
"Mitra's followers are quite weak aren't they?"

Eryan Duskwalker |

Eryan movesup to the warden with the others with his new heavy mace and swings for the warden but his weapon goes wide.
Attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
Damage: 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
