Kharn, yes Eryan's action was to dismiss deeper darkness. It uses a standard action so he still had a move action, but I figured he was pretty happy being out of the melee but close enough to cast spells.

Darnit. When I'm writing up my posts I include all the modifiers for convenience but I usually delete them before finalizing so you don't know your enemies modifiers. Oh well, little can be done about his huge modifier anyways ;)

Well hopefully Argan's attacks killed the guard and he was able to step up before my attack.. That would make me hit AC 29 for 30 damage..

Knowing his attacks doesnt change them :)

I am curious how he has such huge mods though..

Can we suggest things that our character might not want but we do? I'm just saying because Kharn would really like moment of greatness cast upon him by Eryan, but I'm not sure if he would say that while raging.

How? He's a Paladin/Fighter with about 8 levels, a lot of strenght, focus and magical items.... Weren't for the darkness I would be bleeding on the floor by now... we're having a tough time with a simple melee character...


I'll give you guys a peek behind the screen when this is over. His stats are crazy, but it's all broken down very nicely.

Vlad, take a look at the gold sheet and check if that's all you're taking. You're the only one without a cloak of resistance, are you not?

Sorry fella's I about got blowed away by Tornado's last night.. House is still without power, but luckily work has it.. A plus of working at a Nuclear Plant I suppose..

Up till now Vlad has had zero magical gear, so now I don't have a cloak of resistance..

Im fine with taking the plate and using the Heavy shield and Longsword.. Eryan can have the headband.. Ill score a Charisma bump some other time.. If noone needs the cloak of resist ill take it as well..

Covering for Barhold?

And my idea was something like this.. Impersonating Havelyn I would run down exclaiming to all that I had defeated some assassins, but there could be more attempting to take th gatehouse.. And use that to get into the gatehouse quickly.. Once inside rush to level 2, kill everyone and lift the drawbridge effectively cutting off the inside of the tower to it.. Send the flare up and wait for Fireaxe and then open the portcullis and lower the drawbridge.. If nothing else jam/break the mechanisms that open/lower..

I was gonna drink my potion of undetectable alignment to buy me enough time from detectors to get to the gatehouse..

Question: Is the drawbridge from the tower to the gatehouse prsently down?

I don't feel too bad about telling you guys this. The trap was if you successfully opened the chest incorrectly. There was a button at the back you needed to press to keep the trap from going off, which was a DC 25 perception check. But Argan didn't bother to make one >:)

You don't have a lot of time, but you have adequate time to heal.

Levitate only lets you go up and down Eryan, there is no lateral movement involved..

But my plan was for us all the spider climb out of the tower and sneak over to the gatehouse and put that b++%! on lockdown, alerting Fire Axe afterwards..

Levitate let's you float. Push off from something and it's like swimming through the air.

Text from the spell: You cannot move the recipient horizontally, but the recipient could clamber along the face of a cliff, for example, or push against a ceiling to move laterally (generally at half its base land speed).

You aren't stuck to only moving up and down. Just moving up and down magically.

I have 1 second level spell left and 2 levitates. I'd use them before my 2nd level spell, which could be more protect from good or CMW or whatnot.

Well, I agree on getting to the Gatehouse, but I'm not sure they won't see us. If they see us, we will be in deep trouble.

You're so evil.... Just to confirm the rules I know, I can activate the wand with a UMD check, and if I fail nothing happens, unless i roll a 1 in case the wand cannot be used again by me in some time. Is that correct?

It's risky only if they have any way of sensing me while invisible. Otherwise they will certainly believe I moved up the stairs. Argan would do something to make sure of that, leave the place to darkness putting out the torches, and maybe even write with blood the name of Havelyn, Tacitus, Varning and the others we killed, to put some fear in their hearths...

Otherwise, if you want us all to go down the tower by the outside, we could use Eryan's feather fall, although he does not rely much on it...
