She made a face at Jack's Declaration though she did shoot a glance at Logan and frowned slightly.
"He's not actually trying to chapperone us is he? Nah.... why would he?"
She thought to herself while she pulled out her purse and started counting coins.
"While i kinda like his dopey love sick self with his brain all addled how much for the other spell?"
She shot Jack a wink to let him know his efforts were still appreciated.

Mirabella Lindenbrook |

While Canacha and Logan escort Jack to the temple, Mirabella enlists the rest of the group in the initial clean-up of the underground complex.
First on her list is the disposal of the earthly remains of both recently slain enemies and long-dead guild members which litter the various rooms. She organizes for all of the corpses to be gathered and laid out in one of the larger rooms, wrapped up and prepared for a proper burial.
We have to get these out of here. Both for sanitary reasons and because the last thing we want is more ghosts haunting our future home.
A notable exception is the remains of the halfling ghost which still haunts the gambling room. She takes special care to keep her bones separate, as she suspects they will be vital for putting the undead to final rest.

Logan Tanessen |

Hah no Logan's not trying to chaperone anyone. Actually I mostly wanted to make sure we're posting :)
Logan smiles his thanks and helps count out the money. Or does he? The party must have some cash right? My gold log (which has not been updated in ages) shows 8g 30s on Logan...

![]() |

The cleric looks at Jack again and after a breif examination turns her attention to Canacha. "I think we need a mid level restoration spell, opium addiction can be really tough on the brain. I can cast one for 380 gold pieces, I just neef my attendant to collect some dismond dust from the stores." she says and quickly barks at one of the younger clerics to get the matetials for this spell.

Logan Tanessen |

"Probably for the best if you did." smiled Logan and with that he excused himself explaining, "I have a few errands to run, see you tomorrow!"
'Two's company, three's a crowd...' thought Logan as he went to find the others.

Lena Silas |

Lena takes the time to do rites over the dead. She asks Pharasma to shepherd their souls to the Boneyard for judgement, and gives Milani a prayer of protection for their souls, and for the group. "I don't know how we're going to inter them. We can't just haul them to the church of Asmodeus and say here you go. We just sort of found them that way. That'd cause way too much attention. I do agree with Mirabella we can't leave them here. No telling what the resident ghost will get up to with corpses."
She continues to minster rights and then says, "We do sort of have a friend in the Church of Shelyn maybe they will help us. They could request a death cart be sent to the neighborhood with no questions asked."

Canacha Bais |

"No opium Dens Jack, getting you clean silly boy. But... you can take me someone nice and cozy for a bite to eat and some tea... then who knows where the night may lead..."
She giggled and she counted coin. It would probably lead to him coming to his senses and decide to get all coy again but that was okay too. She was pretty sure he did actually like her. That was grand. She felt giddy thinking about it.
Raedy when everyone else is :)

I've updated the map, when you are ready put your token on the map in the circle the arrow points at and read the spoiler. I am assuming you are going to rest and regain spells before going down.
Before your return to the Lucky Bones you spend the night back at the Tooth and Nail while discussing the exploration of the underwater area of the place, Octavio informs you that he might be able to loan you a wand for easy breathing underwater from the seers where he was hiding untill you found him. He sends a friend of the order out to talk to the seers, and the next morning he presents you with a wand of water breathing, that you allowed to laon and have to return to him afterwards. For some reason I read over this in my notes.
The ceiling of this entirely flooded chamber is fifteen feet high, supported by square columns of stone that measure five feet to a side and are crusted with algae. Ruined doors to the south and west provide further access, while to the north, a heap of rusting, algae-caked rubble lies below a ten foot-diameter hole in the ceiling. The water is cold and still, but only slightly murky with mud and silt.

Jack Duncloak |

After getting the ghostly opium out of his system, Jack came to his senses, realizing that he'd acted like a fool. He'd been warned to avoid any romantic entanglements with his fellow rebels, but dating a dhampir was particularly scandalous.
On the positive side, Canacha seemed to actually be a bit flattered by his behavior toward her...and Jack had never been one to let other members of his family make life choices for him.
"Sorry if I acted like a jackass," he tells Canacha. "I've never been under the influence of anything stronger than a handful of drinks before. But you're right--I ought to at the very least treat you to dinner. After we go diving at the Lucky Bones all right with you?"
Jack's ready to delve deeper into the ruins.

Jack's ready to delve deeper into the ruins.
You werent really yourself... well entirely yourself back there so you get a partial pass."
She began with a giggle and a playful wink. She glanced about to see if Logan had indeed left the two of them along for a moment. She leaned forward and kissed him awkwardly on the mouth just for a moment before pulling away and turning very very red in the cheeks.
"You are a very strange, very mysterious man Jack Duncloak, but i think you are pretty neat. And you seem to actually like me, not just the idea of me being some scandalous fun time. Of course after the dive is fine. I'll even find a dress!"
She added with a giggle grabbing his hand and pulling him out the front of the temple. Things were going to be just great, she could feel it.

Jack Duncloak |

Jack is surprised by Canacha's quick kiss. Her words afterwards bring a smile to his face. "You're pretty strange and mysterious yourself," he replies. Then, more seriously, he adds, "I do like you; I never made a move because I was afraid what others might think. But that's something I can't control, isn't it? We'll talk more when we have our dinner date."
=======================================
BACK IN THE LUCKY BONES
=======================================
"So...how long to these air bubbles last?" Jack asks Lena as the group prepares to enter the submerged parts of the ruins. "And can someone cast a light spell on one of my blades? We could use all the light we can get. I'll do a quick exploration of the first room to make sure it's safe and try to figure out where we go next."

Logan Tanessen |

In the lucky bones.
Logan replied to Jack, "I can cast a light spell on you. Regarding the air bubble Lena will be able to confirm but I don't think they last a long time, still should help us in short bursts. Of course you still have to be able to swim... I've discovered a spell that can transform me into another humanoid for a few minutes, perhaps into a Boggard, ugly as sin but they're good swimmers and can see in the dark. I wish I could use this on others but it doesn't work that way. I agree with a short exploration of the first room, got to start somewhere!"

Mirabella Lindenbrook |

Lucky Bones
"As it happens, Logan, I have also recently learned to cast the same spell of transformation. So the pair of us can go swimming together as a pair of boggards, if need be, Just as long as the rest of you don't mistake us for enemies and try to kill us."
Mirabella giggles lightly at her own joke then continues.
"In order to optimize our chances of success in our underwater exploration, we must be able to see, move and breathe. I have a spent ioun stone that has been enchanted with a permanent light spell. That should work well as a light source and it can be easily hidden in case stealth is required."
"The spell of water breathing granted by our borrowed wand lasts longer than the air bubbles. The duration of the water breathing is shared among us all. I suggest we begin with that, and keep the air bubble in reserve. For example, the air bubble will allow Canacha to fire her gun."
"As for movement, as mentioned Logan and I can transform into creatures that can swim naturally. The rest of you will have to rely on your swimming skill or wade along the bottom. The weight of our gear and armor should be enough to weigh us down. Perhaps it will also be wise to tie a line to the entrance so we can find our way back in case of low visibility."
"Anything else we need to prepare before venturing into the depths? Have everyone got a weapon suitable for underwater combat?"
Mira is good to go.

Bicks Velin |

"Well you are all very ready adventures. I have never been underwater like this before. I will try to keep everyone up and fighting. Jack, you seem to get hit a lot and fall down as a result. Not a criticism. I'm glad it is not me ... well... here take this ring. Wear it as I cast this spell."
Bicks casts 'shield other' on Jacks. Bicks now takes half of Jack's damage and 5 HP per round for the rest of the team.
"Jack remember this spell can kill me so don't get hit some much please."
you also get a +1 deflection bonus to AC and a +1 resistance bonus on saves

Mirabella Lindenbrook |

As final preperations, Mirabella picks up a simple longspear to replace her whip for long-range aid another attacks and a few waterproof sacks for storing anything that should not get wet.

Lena Silas |

Lena taps her Morningstar. "I have the ability to make this do any type of damage I wish. I've got a good weapon." She waves Canacha over and casts Air Bubble on her gun. "Just in case."
Holding her want of Air Bubble she nods and waits for the others to transform, dive in or what ever they are going to do. Tapping anyone who wants it.
The cast gives Canacha 6 minutes on that air bubble. The wand taps are a minute.

Mirabella Lindenbrook |

”Best get moving, then. The clock is ticking. Logan and I can take point in boggard form, since we have the best ability to swim and see. Anyone want to borrow my ioun torch?”
If all agree, Mira casts alter self and transforms to a boggard. She lets Logan lead and follows right behind him, longspear in hand.

Jack Duncloak |

In reviewing everything, I think Jack will go with a tap from the water breathing wand Octavio lent the group. He won't benefit from the deflection bonus from Bicks's spell but will gain the resistance bonus on saves.
Jack thanks Bicks and promises to do his best to avoid getting mauled by any underwater menaces...or at least to fall back if such an unfortunate circumstance does arise.

Logan Tanessen |

Logan nodded to Mirabella before whispering a spell. He pointed at Jack's sword and it stared glowing softly as requested.
Casting Light on Jack's sword.
With a shudder at the thought of what he was about to do Lognan grit his teeth and stated with as much confidence as he could, "Ok lets do this Mirabella..."
He then cast his spell and his features smoothly morphed onto those of an ugly frog-like boglin. Raiper in hand he hopped into the water to explore!
Staying close to Mirabella, Logan will try to a sweep of the room.

Logan swims forward not seeing anything of interrest untill he passes the first pillar and is suddenly face to face with another creature, which could look just like the race he has assumed. The green-skinned humanoid with a frog-like head, seems surprised of only a brief moment before it raises it's trident making a shriek-like sound and Logan can see others poke their heads around the other pillars trident in hand.

As fighting breaks out, Mirabella instinctively begins her inspirational song. Even with the spell allowing her to breathe, the strange feeling of attempting to sing with her mouth full of water almost makes her lose her focus. But her extensive bard training and musical instinct quickly allows her to adjust and use the resonance of the water to fill the flooded chamber with a hauntingly beautiful tune that would give a siren pause.
Begin inspire courage +2/+2 - I'm assuming bardic performance functions as normal with water breathing.
She grips her spear tightly and prepares to aid Logan while studying the strange creatures.
Appropriate knowledge roll: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

I wasn't entirely sure about a song underwater so I checked in with my old VC. Conclusion: There should be no problem with singing underwater, it should even have a greater range since sounds travels farther in water than air.
The first creature while blinded spends it's turn feeling it's way up towards where it last remembered Logan standing. The one right new to attempts to stab him with his trident and also take a bite out of Logan. The creature manages to land both of it's attacks drawing a bit of blood from Logan.

Does this water have some salt in it? like does it lead to the ocean somehow?
You could try an analysis. But based on the maps and notes you found in the ruins this connects to the sea around Kintargo for easy smuggling of stolen goods and people out to sell somewhere els.

Mirabella identifies the creatures as a group of Skums, a race that are often in service to an Aboleth and makes a living or raiding seaside towns and cities.
My bad seem to have missed answering you you in my last post as I intended.

I'm operating under the assumption that Canacha's in the square to the left of Logan. Jack is walking across the bottom.
Jack's armor makes him sink like an anchor. He waddles west and then south, preparing to engage the skum guardians.
Double move.

Logan Tanessen |

Logan swore inwardly when the skum attacked and his back arched in pain as he was impaled by a trident and bitted. Gritting his teeth he snapped out a defensive spell and suddenly there where five Logans and his enemy had to guess which one to hit!
Cast defensively DC 19: 1d20 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 3 = 19
Mirror Image: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Swift action: Use 1 arcane pool point to enhance blade +2
Full round action: Spell combat to cast Mirror Image and attack with -2 penalty.
Maybe AOO use: Opportune Parry and Riposte
Maybe 1/round free action: Redirect Attack
With a thought he let a trickle of energy into his blade which began to glow softly and then he lunged at his attacker! It was strange attacking in water but he had the right weapon for the job and this body he had morphed into knew what to do.
Vs Red: Rapier, inspire, +2 enhance, spell combat penalty: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 2 + 2 = 27Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 + 2 = 10
He then tensed waiting for the inevitable counter attack, hoping that fate would allow him to capitalise on any mistakes his opponent made.
Logan batted aside the enemy's weapon and thrust with his rapier!
Parry?: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 2 + 2 - 2 = 17
Riposte!: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 2 + 2 - 2 = 23Riposte Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 + 2 = 9
GM Logan has Artful Dodge and Redirect Attack. He'll be using both if possible vs Red, increasing his AC by 1 vs red and maybe redirecting red's attack onto green.
Taking full advantage of his opponents' miss, Logan contemptuously slapped the skum's arm causing it's strike to threaten one of its comrades!
CMB?: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 2 + 2 - 2 = 20

![]() |

@Logan, it should be possible, but since the attack will go around a hard corner on green the AC for the CMB check will get that +4 ac, but then again he is blind so miggt not matter to much.

Lena heads in next to Mirabella and attacks red with her morningstar. She turns her hand so the weapon does piercing damage, and attacks.
Morningstar, Versatile Weapon: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Mirabella Lindenbrook |

Lena, I don't think you added the bonus from Mirabella's underwater song? +2 to dmg and hit
Overwhelmed by the cruel-looking aquatic monsters surging forward from all sides, Mirabella abandons her usual strategy of aiding her companions and instead decides to try and harm one of the enemies directly.
Longspear attack w/IC vs red: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 7
Longspear dmg: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
However, the unfamiliar weapon, fighting underwater, her altered body and her natural hesitation about bloodshed all combine to make her attempted attack fail miserably.
"Oh no...I'd better stick to helping and leave the fighting to those who can actually fight. she thinks after almost skewing Lena instead of the skum.

![]() |

Lena swings her morningstar around the corner and smashes it into the skum nearly knocking it out. You don't need to use versatile weapon for the morningstar it's both blunt and piercing.
The skums are trying to fight back with all their might, the one stuck between Logan and Bicks continues to attack Logan feeling he might have a chance to hit again.
Trident: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
hit?: 1d5 ⇒ 1 1 is a hit on Logan
The attacker looks satisfied as it manages to draw more blood from Logan. While the blinded skum attempts to locate Logan before trying to stab him with it's trident.
