Wondering if we've lost Pavo :( been almost 1 1/2 months since his last post when he flagged up tech probs...
DM-Fang you heard anything from him or Markus??

While I agree with your observation, it does seems that way, I personally have not lost any interest at all. I hereby confirm my commitment to continue to play and to post regularly. I had always wanted to play this set of adventures and still want to play them. I considered myself lucky to be selected to play and like other players in the group.
Can we re-invigorate the game?
Sverrïr Koltǫnn
GM-Fang I'm of the same mind as Lucid - enjoying the game, and am more than happy to up the ante a little if necessary.
Good point post scrap to take stock and see whose still standing? Think one of the issues is possibly in part that we've went from a large party to a core 4... I for one still oft wait for Pavos and Ramos posts/input etc that won't ever come... but that's on me.
Sverrïr Koltǫnn
Going forward we probably just need to fight smarter rather than getting in each others way? I try to make Sver as direct as possible when in his cups - he's a reckless doom laden dour scion who has little self worth after all lol...

I'm here and continuously interested! I have had a bad run the last 6 8 weeks or so. Mostly unexpected work crisis demands... Long hours, overnights, etc...
I'm down to about 4 active games. So don't think I'm giving my time to other games/DMs or anyrhing.
Much love for this game and ensemble.

I'm still interested, but I am in a stretch of really busy time at work. I haven't even had time to update my own 2 games that I run for the last couple of weeks. I apologize for that and I am hoping it will soon clear up as I really feel I am dropping the ball over the games I run and play in.
GM Fanguar
Ok, glad to hear it. There's basically 3 fights left in this adventure and some cool things are about to happen.
I agree that combat bogs down PbPs more than anything. What I have been doing in some of my other games is getting away from map based combat and going more theatre of the mind. It takes a fair bit of the strategy out of battles, but when your options are pretty much buff, de-buff or smack him in the face, it tends to speed things up. I find it also helps when you're pressed for time. I would be in favour of heading in that direction.
I mean, the previous combat would have been much simpler without taking into account of elevation and line of sight and the like. If we decide to go in that direction, I realize that some builds might not be as effective, so if you wanted to swap feats or rebuild your character a bit, that would be fine.

While I actually like the strategy of combat and think, in general I am pretty good at it, I would be fine with your recommendation. But its easier for a wizard than a tactically fighter to give that up.
GM Fanguar
I don't anyone has difficulty with strategizing. It's just when you add in things like choke points and line of sight and the like, it takes more turns to resolve the combat. Really the better you are a strategy the slower things can go. I'm fine with revisiting maps in the future, but I wouldn't mind just forgoing them for a bit to pick up the pace.
If we had done mapless for that last battle, it would have played out as: Lucid dumps 2 baddies in a pit. Everyone focus fires the other two then moves on to the two in the pit.
@Markus: Reach and combat reflexes don't really lend themselves to mapless, though sneak attack damage is actually probably more easy to achieve. I guess it depends on how much you want to rebuild. If you want to keep with the combat maneuvers you could swap to a sunder or grapple build. Alternatively, if you wanted to go more roguey you could check out the slayer or investigator classes from the playtest. I'm pretty flexible, so think on it and we'll work something out.

Theatre of mind works for me GM-Fang - do love the strategy of combat but am playing an irrational beerserker so its more impulsive running Sverrir.
Not sure how much I'd actually change in Sver... am slammed at work and home at the moment (house renovations means spotty interwebs) and am due offshore next Monday for possibly a week+
For Markus - perhaps investing more in Trip? Then once dropped your Sneak Attack and knife skills slice and dice them??
Markus the Librarian
Is there any advantage to using a reach weapon?
If there's not, I can switch to Elven Curved-Blade (like Fauchard, Exotic Weapon Prof & Weapon Focus).
If Combat Reflexes doesn't really come into play... then Toughness.
Sverrïr Koltǫnn
Heads up gang - am heading offshore tomorrow for about a week... early check in, but am on nights (bah) so likely be zombied for a few days... Nae sure how the wireless is on the platform either so please DMPC Sver as necessary lads.
Fingers crossed I'll be back in the mix by the weekend at the latest
Cheers

Hey dudes. I couldn't do it. I can't let go of the fauchard, it's integral to Markus' core.
- Swapped out Combat Reflexes for Improved Trip feat.
- Swapped out Knife Master for Scout archetype (doesn't lose trapfinding).
Otherwise, not much really changed.
Sverrïr Koltǫnn
Back and at it lads... will have a shifty at Sver just incase theirs anything I can re-jig for the good of all. He'll stay a drunk, but will check if the Superstitious archetype can be swapped for anything more group friendly?
Superstitious archetype was actually chosen due to Sver's godless heathen attitude, but its benefits are minimal if not pointless...
Am looking at Brutal Pugilist/Drunken Brute as a possible combo, or just being a vanilla Drunker Brute and keeping Uncanny Dodge & Trap Sense (neither of which to be fair feel right for my oft hungover warrior lol)

I wanted to give a heads up that I'll be traveling from Wednesday through Sunday (going to Gen Con) and my posting will be limited. I'll still try to check this game at least once a day, but will likely be posting from a phone when I do post.

Well, I am off tomorrow for DragonCon and will not be back until Monday night. I'll have a laptop and should be abel to post most days but likely not more than once a day. Please bot me if you need to. Everyone have a good Labor Day weekend.
Sverrïr Koltǫnn
Sver will wear double mail lol!
BTW - apologies on the Loot Sheet tardiness - need to update, syphon down.
Will get onnit afore the week is out.
Sverrïr Koltǫnn
Hammered at work folks - will be until the weekend (number of projects and workscopes I'm involved with are at the pointy end) - so please DMPC Sver as required.
If I get a chink of daylight I'll try and post but don't wait for me
Markus the Librarian
Not sure how this would work, but would it be possible to... call "try to trip" like we "try to flank"?
I can call it in the action description, roll... and you/DM/Fanguar can decide who it would most likely go against and who gets the +4 melee against prone?
Missing a lot is slowing us down! :)
Sverrïr Koltǫnn
BTW having some difficulty accessing the LOOT sheet from home - might get some time this week to update, if I do I'll let you guys know whose got what and what's up for grabs here :)
Appreciate the patience on this :)
