Galstak looks at the axe being handed to him by spectrum. Some of the blood and gore on it was his.

"Surely don't feel like I earned it. That thing kicked my arse!"

He accepts though hoping he can weild it partly as well as it was weilded against him.

"Sorry Elf, scale ain't my style. Hinders the movement too much."

Galstack sits near a cart and drinks from his waterskin. "Man, I'm tired." he thinks to himself.

Male Goblin Inquisitor Heretic 3

That would make far too much sense if we healed everyone at the same time. Besides, the little goblin doesn't have much else to do with his spells at this point!

The goblin joins the large man. "How did you fare? I did not see much of the fight here, as my focus was on the archers. I see only one casualty, but that should have been avoided. I should have seen them coming." The goblin's brow furrows.

Morphet kicks the dead body of the gnoll who attacked him before it gets dragged to a fire..."And stay dead fleabag!!...then helps drag it to the gnoll bonfire

Well, I've been saying that I'd heal anybody who asked for it and nobody has. I suppose I could just sort of sneak up on the group and start channeling, but that strikes me as bizarre.

At any rate, if there's anything in the cloak's magic that gives some sort of protection, then Tokara needs it a lot more than I do. However, I thought I saw a mention of a longbow and some arrows. If nobody else wants them then I could use them.

Luminarion replies to Galstak,

"If by moving you mean getting cut to pieces and bleeding a lot then I could see how scale mail might be a problem for you. However, that also becomes a problem for me as I have limits on my ability to heal people and that big gnoll was taking you apart faster than I could patch you up. It's your call, but don't complain about me in the afterlife if you get taken apart in another fight somewhere down the road because you weren't wearing armor heavy enough to help you."

Luminarion then yells at the top of his lungs:

"Anybody who needs healing gather around me!"

Luminarion wrote:

"Some of you in lighter armor who want to go into melee combat should probably consider cleaning some of the scale mail off and using it if it will fit."

Luminarion also casts detect magic and checks to see if any of it has a magical aura.

"I will stay with the lighter armor for now. It does not slow me down, and is less noisy for the times when I do not wish to be noticed."

Curvlk casts detect magic before searchign among the gnolls. He also uses detect good among the gnolls, as those who are dead won't have an aura. So let me know if there are any living, albeit close to death goodly gnolls among the fallen.

"Sounds good to me. If they go down then we all might go down.

Luminarion gestures for Kaiden to come closer. Once Kaiden does and assuming that everybody else who needs healing also gathers around Luminarion takes his holy symbol, raises it high, and says:

"May Sarenrae heal you all."

Luminarion repeats that two more times, channeling positive divine energy to heal living creatures as he does so.

2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5
2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2

So everybody within 30 feet of Luminarion just got 11 hit points worth of damage healed. That should leave me with 3 more channels to use until sunrise.

As the others search through the gear and other goods captured from the raiders, Khalil gives a quick shrug of the shoulders and waves to the villager who was originally driving the cart and a couple of the other men. "Common, let's go get your cart and bring it up here. I don't know much about animals so I'll keep an eye out and provide a light while you men get the wagon up to camp."

As they reach the wagon he brushes his hand against his holy symbol, whispers a few words under his breath, and touches the horses halter. This causes a section of the halter to begin glowing with a soft reddish-tinted light that provides enough illumination for the driver to move the cart back into camp.

With the light in place, Khalil takes a few seconds for his eyes to adjust and starts scanning the darkness for any other signs of trouble.

Just to try to keep track of things. We have the wagon or whatever that we were bringing with us. The villagers had a wagon that Khalil is helping them to bring to the camp. Finally, the gnolls also had a wagon of some sort. What, if anything, was pulling the wagon that the gnolls had? Shouldn't we bring that to our camp also?

Luminarion heads over to what had been the gnolls' wagon to see what the story with it is. As he does so he casts the orison "light" on one of his throwing darts and holds it in his hand to light the way.

Someone with ability should check the silver torc. Also are we dividing the coin or keeping a pool of coin for the party?

Galstak looks over his wounds. The strange sensation of warmth that passed through him seconds ago made him feel much better. (25/38)

Tok keeps the green cloak in her paws and walks over to Galstak.

"Need help?" She asks him.

Gnolls were dragging there cart themselves and same goes for the villagers. Yours is pulled by a pair of horse and is much bigger.

You lot can decide wheater or not you slit gold or pool all as party cash.

Khaili helps two of the villagers retrieve their cart from the road everything is intact and your trip there and back is uneventful.

Luminarion and any who examine gnoll cart:
The cart looks identical to the cart carried by the villagers. They were both originally from farms and it would appear that the gnolls had stolen this from one of the outlying farmtowns.

Male Human Barbarian 2/Oracle 1

Galstak is surprised by Tok's silent approach.

"Huh? Oh, um, I think I am okay. But if you're willing..." Galstak says warily. Last time he spoke to her, it did not go too well.

He, decides to change tact and try a diffrent direction. "So Tok, what do you think was going on here? Two similarly configured groups heading in about the same direction. Do you think it is the obvious or possibly the gnolls may have been fleeing like the villagers."

Luminarion is not exactly a tower of strength by any stretch of the imagination, but if he can get the gnoll cart pulled over to the campsite he will do so. If he can't he will simply walk back and look oiver the rest of the stuff. After a while he will say:

"There's a longbow here I could get some use out of, but I don't know if anybody else would like it. Any other potential takers?"

Female Aasimar Cleric 3

She flicks her ears back and snarls slightly. "Of course it was the gnolls preying on innocents. That's all those fleabags do." Her voice carries obvious distaste for the gnolls, given her homeland, it's no surprise.

"Now stay still while I look at your injuries. You're not as badly hurt as some people I treated. I once treated a man who fell off a cliff... he died." She keeps him still while she casts cure light wounds on him a few times.

I think having the healer keep the cloak is a fine idea...
Turning to Tok I agree those gnolls were probably just looking for easy prey and the villagers were it.

Luminarion, overhearing the conversation, says:

"Regardless of whether or not something was chasing the gnolls who were chasing the villagers, we should probably set up some sort of watch rotation for the night. Personally I would like to take the last watch just before dawn so I could prepare my spells without having to delay the group by doing so."

"I propose we use the rest of these weapons to arm these people."

M Human Boreal Sorcerer 3

"I think the villagers would have mentioned SOMETHING else chasing them....Or at least I hope they would. Come my friend, relax by the fire, that flind wasn't very kind to you." as Morphet motions for Galstak to come sit by a fire.
"YA know...maybe the gnolls were really tracking the villagers because come morning they turn in horrible creatures that sprout tentacles and eat all they can find and were just keeping an eye on them so their tribe wouldn't get eaten." Morphet smirks and smiles at Galstak Hehe...Nah I'm sure that not it...
Thinking I hope nothing was chasing both of them...Its been a long night already....

Male Goblin Inquisitor Heretic 3

The little goblin booms, throwing his deep timbre into the fray. "I would suggest that we give the villagers what we can. The better armed they are, the better their chances of survival and success. The best way we can help them other than that is to succeed in our journey. But perhaps we should speak with them further, and see what we can do to give them a good nights rest."
Curvlk turns to the two clerics of the Dawnflower. "I would support Tok's acquisition of the cloak, as it's seems it would provide her with some comfort of memory in addition to it's magic. As far as the gnoll's are concerned, perhaps they too were running from something. The fact that they may have decided to pick on unsuspecting villagers wouldn't be mutually exclusive to their own flight. Perhaps we should ask that of the few survivors left over?"

Male Elf Cleric of Sarenrae/3

Luminarion takes the long bow and the quiver of 20 arrows. He rearranges his gear such that he is now carrying his throwing darts in their small case over his left shoulder, and the longbow plus its quiver over his right shoulder. He says to Spectrum:

"Letting the villagers have whatever weapons and armor we don't need from this haul makes perfect sense. Those items they don't end up using to protect themselves they can sell for money to aid them in starting over."

Luminarion turns to Curvlk and says:

"Talking to the villagers is another thing that would be good to do. However, before we all troop over there perhaps Khalil can brief us on what he has learned of them so far."

Male Human Barbarian 2/Oracle 1

"Easy with the sarcasm there Blue [Morphet]. I was just trying to provide some alternate thinking to the situation. As I said, the obvious is they are salvaging the remenants of the villages."

"I am good with giving all the stuff with the exception of the magic and coin to the villagers."

"Did anyone ever check that silver torc?"

M Human Rogue 2 / Cleric 1 HP: 13/13 AC:16 T:13 FF:13 CMD:14 F: +3 R: +6 W: +4 Per: +8/+9 Init: +5

Breathing a little heavily after helping the villagers move their cart closer to camp, Khalil joins the conversation. He makes a few futile attempts to brush some of the dirt and snow from his clothing, then sighs heavily and says, "I don't know much at this point. I haven't even had a chance to get the name of their village." He points towards the burning pyre of gnolls with a wry smirk, "The conversation was interrupted by our furry friends over there."

"I would offer that these people don't pose any kind of a threat to us." He looks at the two heavily burdened carts with no draft animals and adds, "In fact, I would suggest we give these good people the trade goods in addition to the spare gear and weapons. They could sell the goods and use the coin to help get settled once they reach Ingvar's. Plus it's always good to make a few friends, just in case we end up in need at some point. I'd even offer a portion of my share of the coin to help them out."

His brow and face furl into a puzzled frown as he thinks back to the earlier meeting with the villagers, "One thing I would add, is that it doesn't seem likely they were running from the gnolls. They seemed quite clear about their attackers being demons and undead. The headman even mentioned a leader who was an 'enormous pumpkin-headed giant.' I could understand mistaking the gnolls for demons, but not walking undead, nor do I see even frightened villagers comparing that flind to a pumpkin-headed giant."

Obviously caught up in thought he continues, "It also seems a little odd that the gnolls would be wandering the area carrying everything they own rather than leaving it in some kind of hideout or lair. What if both groups were simply on the run from some greater menace and this was all just an unfortunate meeting in the night?"

Male Human Barbarian 2/Oracle 1

"My point exactly."

Female Aasimar Cleric 3

Tok growls a bit, then shrugs. "Are you lot going to babble all night or sleep?" She asks as she climbs into her carriage. "I don't know about you, but I think I need a rest, first person to wake me if it isn't my turn to watch or a freaking emergency will end up with my quarterstaff stuck where the sun doesn't sine."

The silver torc is identical to the bronze ones given to you by Jiri but made of pure silver.

Keep track of your own HP please If I can avoid doing something I will.

Over night you would heal 3hp each memorize spell normally and regan any uses of abilities such as channel. To the Clerics: You might as well use up all your channels it will probably be enough to heal everyone up and you will regan all uses by noon.

Male Human Barbarian 2/Oracle 1

I don't mind but there has to be a reason it is silver. Someone should cast an identify or detect magic before going to sleep for the night. Probably a good idea to do so on the bronze torcs we are wearing also. To see if there is a differnce.

Galstak is entirely too tired to keep a watch tonight. But promises to keep one the following. He will find a place to sleep in a tent if there is room. If not, he will try to find warmth near the camp fire.

That has already happened. Everything was thoroughly checked. It seems to be mundane.

Just to be sure, Wareagle I'll check with Detect Magic and Appraise again.

Taking a closer look at the silver torc while Spectrum checks it over again Khalil says, "It seems possible we have found out what happened to at least one of the previous champions that Ingvar sent to the valley." He makes a quick gesture towards the rather odiferous pile of burning gnolls and the silver torc. "They gave the more valuable ones to their own tribal champions. That would also account for how the Flind came to own that axe and cloak as well."

Stepping back he puts his hand to his chin in thought, "Didn't that young dwarf shaman say our torcs were needed to safely enter the valley? Hmmm, has anyone checked our torcs for a magical effect?" Turning to Spectrum he says, "I be worried about you switching torcs if the magical effects aren't identical, if the silver one has lost its power of protection for some reason it could leave you vulnerable to whatever is protecting the valley. Of course, magic might not be involved at all."

Then with a slight shrug of the shoulders he turns back to the rest and adds, "I'd be happy to take first watch. I'm still a little wound up and won't be able to sleep for a bit."

Cast Detect Magic on my own torc.

"I concur. The torcs are mundane however. Many abjuritive barriers can be keyed to non-magical triggers or bypass conditions. Magic adapts. It can be taught to recognize things. I suspect these torcs are such. Simply a sort of key to a rather exotic lock."

Kaiden does not pay much attention to what everyone is doing, seemingly lost in his own thoughts.

He does speak up for a moment, [b]"I think the group should keep the gold, and I will take which ever shift would not be at night time." [b]

Male Human Barbarian 2/Oracle 1

Galstak will wake the next morning and offer anyone still keeping watch the chance to catch a little more shuteye.

He looks over the axe he acquired from the Flind. It was a great warrior even though it used magics to enhance its prowess. He promised to try to use it as well as the Flind did and then goes through a series of practice swings and manuevers.
