Spectrum stands, ushering the psudodragons into the safety of a scraggly nearby tree. Moving a few paces behind Galstak he pulls a sturdy narrow book from beneath his robe and opens it. With a whisper and a wave, a handful of floating orbs of light appear in front of Galstak and begin moving out into the darkness, sweeping back and forth, revealing things around them like a torch.
Dancing Lights, they can move up to 100 feet, which I'm doing in an S pattern to try to find whatever's out there.
| Khalil Noyon |
At the villagers mention of undead, a quick shiver runs down his spine and he slips his rapier from its sheath. Bloody bastard undead, he thinks to himself, the damned creatures are like roaches, where you find one you'll find a hundred of the blasted things running around. Calistria, I'll get you for this some day, you damned old sow.
Seeing the sudden glow of multiple lights start dancing through the trees towards camp, he realizes something must be up. Torn between staying with the scared and rather defenseless looking villagers and heading back to help his new found companions, he decides the others can likely take care of themselves and slips protectively towards the women and children at the back of the group. As he moves his eyes are constantly straining against the darkness to catch any glimpse of movement or threat.

Spectrum the lights fly around through the dark night revealing a lone gnoll fleeing from behind a nearby tree at a glance he appear to be a scout and is likely not alone based on his gear. He makes shrill howl most likely to call allies. He is but 30ft from camp and there is no sign of any others at the time he is fleeing and no combat has commence unless someone wishes to fire off a arrow or two.

The feral howl of the gnoll sends a quick chill down Khalil's spine. That can't be good. Seeing that the villagers are a fairly harmless group, the Keleshite quickly surveys the distance between most of his companions, himself, and the villagers. Not liking the situation, he steps out of the shadows and shouts to Gregers and Askum, "We're spread too thin out here. Assuming that fellow has friends he's calling to, we should get these folks off of the road and to the camp as quick as we can.
Pointing to the torc worn around his neck he turns to the villagers and says, "We've been tasked by Jarl Ingvar to seek out and defeat the menace that's been plaguing your village and many others, and we mean to do just that." He looks back towards the fleeing gnoll and Galstak taking up pursuit, "However, that fellow isn't here to offer Solstice Greetings, so you'd best let us help. The first thing we can do is get you people in the shelter of our camp. From there it'll be a little safer and easier to make a defense if we need to." Gesturing with his hands he adds, "The women and children should stay in the center while you men stay alert and form a protective ring." He then encourages them to start moving while scanning the surrounding darkness for any signs of movement.
Khalil will move closer to Askum, Gregers, and Egil at O42
Wareagle, is it possible to mark the villagers as a group on the map? I'd like to stay between them and the gnoll, but I'm not sure how big the group actually is.
| Wareagle |
The villagers look around frantically after hearing the howl when Khalil reveals himself they say nothing and simply follow him they begin to Crowd into the formation suggested. "I will lead these people to safety the rest of you help the others by the sound of things it's gonna get a little rough."
The two missiles piece the fleeing creatures back and it lets out a shriek followed by many other howls from ahead. It continues to run away out of sight from those who do not have dark vision of sorts.
The raiding party reveals itself as several dozen gnolls come out of hiding and run into formation, A brute gnoll leads the group he is much larger and wields a giant axe he lets out a cry to signal the rest.
The NPCs retrieve there weapons and rush to the scene.

Seeing the gnoll raiders emerge into the light, a cold sweat breaks out across Khalil's brow. Whispering to himself he says, "By the nine bloody hells. Calistria you put me here, now you better damned well provide a little help."
He slips a small symbol of a wasp standing at the center of a triple spiral from underneath his armor and lets it rest on his chest while he says a few short verses from the Book of Joy. As he finishes the last few words, those nearby feel their confidence bolstered as the goddess lends her support to the cause.
Having done what he can, Khalil continues to hurry the villagers while staying between them and the raiding party.

I'll have to make a couple of more minor modifications to his character sheet, but Luminarion would have gotten the same cold weather gear everybody else did. We will probably find out shortly, but I suspect either that somebody has a lot of girlfriends or we won't like it too much {likely gnoll fighters :-( }

Oops, trying to do too much too fast, I had thought Curvlk was with the other group. :-( Regardless, per RAW as I understand it the two blessings would not stack. They will run concurrently, the only advantage being that if one of them gets dispelled the other one might not be.

The goblin calls to the dawnflower to bring him and ally's aid [Casts bless affects all except Egil spec and those with villagers.]
The gnolls load their crossbows and fire in precision and consecutively hailing down bolts upon you. The bolts whistle by you though two found their mark hitting into Curvlks and Kaiden with deadly accuracy.
Kaiden -7
Curvlk -6
The fighters roar banging there crude cudgels and blades on their wooden shields and move into a defensive line in front of the rest of the group. One breaks off from the group and charges Galstak with his crude rusty battleaxe he is very clumsy with his axe and you side step away from the foolish gnolls attack.
Egil runs to his limits [80ft] towards the scene.
Rocks suddenly fall from the sky atop the startled gnolls breaking up their ranks and one is crushed under the rocks it's lifeless body twitches some in defiance before it falls completely lifeless.
C15 gets dead and many are wounded.
Galstak casts a protective speel upon himself witch would provoke an aoo from the one that charged you unless you five foot. If you don't the gnoll swings his axe at you glancing you elbow.
Galstak -3 [Unless he changes action.]
Khalil blesses the other group and assists in bringing the villagers to safety.
Morphet protect himself with magics.
Villagers get in defensive formation with Khalil the more brave of the bunch ofter to help you fight off the gnolls once the women and children are brought to safety. [Though it is highly doubtful they would be of any help.]
The rest of the gnoll break up and add to the wall of gnolls.
The chieftain snarls and raises his giant Axe in the air letting out a rallying cry he then walks along with the others and pulls out a potion from a pouch on his side and quaffs it. Suddenly the already huge gnoll looks even more burly.

The thundering sound of stones falling among the raiders brings a vicious smile to Khalil's lips, "That'll be the work of our mages." He says to the villagers. "With the gnolls distracted, we have a chance to get to cover, so everyone hurry, and by the gods stay together."
With a deft movement he slips a throwing dagger into his free hand, ready to strike at anything that comes within range.

The crossbow gnolls turn their attention to the man rushing at them sword at hand and fire off a few shot hooping to bring him down before he does so to them. Many bolts pelt into his sides but he continues on and is hardly faded by the many bolts. The other two take the time to better position themselves so that they may have a clear shot.
