Why you gotta be so cruel?
Don't you know I'm human too?
Why you gotta be so cruel?
I'm gonna kill that flying coward female devil anyway...

Haha.
I want that officer tabard if no one minds.
The wands , the bull's one can stay with Catcher, Miro or Gromff.
If Miro does not mind assuming a support role, he could use it to buff Gromff and Catcher at times.

Be thinking about level 7. Next time the party is together and rests you will level up again.
-------------
In case anyone is wondering why I'm leveling you guys so quickly, (heck, maybe you think I'm leveling you up too slowly!) I'll take a moment and share my reasons.
I want this game to feel epic, even as low level turns to mid level play. I want this game to have a meta-plot that is still being realized by the players decisions, not by GM leading by the nose. (I hope that everyone feels this way too. My goal is for everyone to feel like their choices matter, and that they can lead the party wherever they feel.) All of that said, I am putting everyone on a super-fast leveling speed to facilitate the greater impact that your characters will need to have on the world as the story progresses. In order to fight big-bads, the party needs to be big and badass too.
I doled out the magic rings not only as a fun plot device but as my personal version of the Pathfinder Unchained - Automatic Bonus Progression. The rings are also essentially giving the party "extra xp gain" granted by the gods to hurry you along toward your destinies.
Yet another reason is my strong desire to see this game through until 'the end' because it seems that so few games actually end on a good note. Most games I've played end in an argument between friends, or falls apart due to life/schedule changes, or myriad other complications that prematurely end the careers of so many would-be heroes. My hope is that this game will reach a story-like ending that we can all be satisfied with.
/end rambling.

I like to level up, of course, as every player does. Still, in this mid-range we can already do a LOT of stuff, and we certainly don't need to get too far to make a difference.
I run Rise of the Runelords for my live group, and I get the feeling that the more level up the less they focus on the roleplay and more on the roll play, since they have so many abilities it's hard to keep track of.
That said, although I like it, I don't feel the need to level up so fast to be able to face the dangers, and I trust our ability to keep the game running, even if one or two players have to eventually be replaced, so either way is fine with me. ^_^

Sorry for no posts today. I'm not sure if my work's browser is too old to function under Paizo's new changes (I'm sure you've all noticed the disclaimer at the top of the website lately) or if something was just wrong with the site itself. I tried multiple times today to get posts up but the browser at work kept crashing/rejecting the navigation from page to page.
If it turns out that is an old-browser issue, this will have a negative impact on our games in that I won't be able to post during the day while at work. (my phone sucks, and as a GM my posts are usually longer anyway, so posting on an iphone is a pain in the ass).
This will mean that Mon-Fri I will be doing most of my posting in the evenings, probably 7pm or later, pacific standard time. Not the end of the world, but it might slow things down a bit.

Gamemaster Zedth |

I use Google Chrome at home, I prefer it to most other browsers.
At work our computers are strictly controlled by forces beyond our control, and certain critical web-based programs we use on a daily basis were written in old code (or some such thing, that's what my IT buddy at work tried to explain), and therefore they cannot update their browsers because it would render our critical programs inoperable.
If this is the status quo from here on out I will be a sad panda, but I'll adjust. I might have to buy a tablet or notebook and use it at work!

Gromff Hammerhand |

I am in IT. That is a thing. If the code for your programs and websites aren't updated they may not work on newer browsers. I have to bounce between 7, 8, 9, and 10 sometimes to view what I need to fix things.

By the way, Zedth, you mentioned I could use the new rage rules and I am doing that since last combat, that's why my HP and yours look different. What do you want me to do?

![]() |

The elf child says "My name is Aersensi. This is Walker."
Walker looks at Tylz' ring in Catchers hands and his eyes flash with recognition for a brief moment, then he shows a look of confusion and deep thought. The girl then says "Oh, so you're the ones I've been looking for? Okay then, let's go talk. Where shall we go?"

![]() |

Yeah, for some time, I was thinking the name was Aerseni.
After a long time using Aerseni I noticed Zedth using the correct name, and changed too.

I suppose my bookkeeping is confusing on that front. You're right. During the last combat I double checked my numbers because I saw you and I had different totals and I found my arithmetic to be correct --- except for the fact that I forgot that the new barbarian's rage gives bonus HP instead of the old way.
Thank you for pointing that out Roland.

Had a helluva day... car trouble, broke down on the freeway in the Vegas heat (I was at least 110 today).
Just got home, gonna eat with the wife and chill for a bit. Posts to come later tonight.

Friends,
I need a short break. Some things happened yesterday (even since I made the above comment) that really set me back. I'm going to be busy and most likely unable to properly post in this game for the next few days. I'm aiming for Sunday, maybe Monday to get back on track.
Hope you understand.

Don't worry boss, take your time.
While you solve put things in order, I'll do the same. There's a said barbarian I need to kill...

Gamemaster Zedth |

Hey everyone,
FYI, I just got out of the hospital - I had my gall bladder removed a couple nights ago. I will probably be out of work for a week or so (maybe more depending on recovery speed) so I should be able to get back on schedule in fairly short order. I just ask that you be patient with me for a few days , as I'm pain meds and generally not feeling well.
I don't have a specific date that I plan on "being back" but I'll pop in and update this thread to keep you all posted. Apologies for extending it out again! I've been missing our game.

I meant that. Found it funny.

I know, it was just me complaining about the lack of healing poor Roland has been receiving these days... ^_^
Anyway, I'm not a doctor but I imagine you're gonna have to change your diet (or create one in most cases), so that may be tough to adapt. I wish you the best recovery ever man!

![]() |

Boss, hope you are doing well and take your time!
@Roland
I can take Infernal healing if you are feeling like no one is healing you...
But I don't think Gromff and Miro will like that. :D

Gamemaster Zedth |

If anyone is interested, I'm submitting a character for a low magic, viking earth history game that will be closing recruitment in a couple of days. We don't have tons of submissions, so if you make something good you'll likely be chosen.
I submitted a Skald. In a low-magic world I have to imagine that any magic user would be extremely powerful. The only other submission that uses magic is a 2nd Skald, so we could really use a witch or shaman if someone is up for it. If you don't feel like playing a magic user, I'm sure we could still use another submission or two. (barbarian, fighter, slayer, etc)
Just throwing it out there in case anyone is looking for a game.

Thanks man, but more games are not satiating my hunger. I must turn to some other option, like playing video game or something like that this month, since I have a lot of time right now...
Anyway, he used the following expression:
"Starting Gear: Nada"
Did you understand that? Is it common to see that word in english?

Yeah I hear ya. Lately my gaming itch is growing and growing. The Witcher III looks like a badass game that I'm thinking of picking up. I also just picked up the Dungeons and Dragons 5e core books to give them a try. So far the system looks really neat.
Anyway, he used the following expression:

:) Its funny how certain words end up in the common vernacular, even though they have little meaning in and of themselves, *edited* in english.
A common thing to say in American English is "Zip, nada, zilch," meaning "nothing" or "zero".
For that guy's game the players start out as prisoners of war and therefore would have no starting gear at all.

Gamemaster Zedth |

Well bummer city! Looks like two of you were picked for that Norse game but he didn't like my submission. I thought I was in!
*cries a little bit*
Have fun in there gang.

Gamemaster Zedth |

I appreciate the offer Adakos. Can you post a link to whatever game(s) you're referring to?
I was particularly interested in that earth-history Norse-Britannia game because of the flavor. Games of that type don't pop up very often so I jumped on the recruitment.
I'm not necessarily pining for another game at the moment (though my interest is always open) but I would love to take a look at what you're running.
Thanks!

Gromff Hammerhand |

Well crap. Sorry. Not sure how I managed to sneak in there.

Hey gang.
It was my last days on work before vacations so things were a bit tricky, and I used the free time to create a concept for the game Zedth suggested...
I'll update in a few hours.
Thanks for the patience.

Adakos Telthan |

The dying light could certainly use another hand, those people are slower than my worst nightmares!
Agreed. It saddens me greatly. One of the things I looked for was frequent posting, but it appears my filtering process was lacking.

Roland, just Roland |

Don't blame yourself, man, it happens. The other guys seem fine, tough, so I think we're gonna do fine from now on. 4 is also not a bad number to work with, as is 5.

Game update:
I have sadly decided to remove Miro from our game indefinitely.
He hasn't posted for a full week and hasn't sent me any kind of message or communication explaining why. I checked his other avatars for recent activity and stopped counting at the 6th avatar with current, regular posting. He is clearly very active on the forums but must have lost interest in this game.
I didn't come to the decision lightly. The one post per day rule is there for a reason. It is a contract of sorts, and ignoring our game for a full week is a breach of that contract. If his other avatars weren't showing regular posting then I would have given lots more time to respond, but that is not the case here.
I'd like to try proceeding without a 5th member for now. I have a buddy who might be interested in joining the game. You guys are quite effective in combat still anyway.
Thoughts on the 5th member? Do any of you strongly believe we need a 5th right away? Know anyone who is interested?
