Gamemaster Zedth |

Good Morning Friends,
I had a nice long weekend, and I hope everyone else had an enjoyable weekend. I'll be catching up and getting a post or two up shortly.

Gamemaster Zedth |

Hope the rest of you will forgive me for giving such a spotlight on Gromff there --
The nature of this good vs evil game combined with all the awesome RP you all are doing... it has really put me in the story. Gromff's last post was powerful, and so I felt like I had to answer it in kind.

Gamemaster Zedth |

Friends,
Busy weekend with family, I'll try to get up a good post by Sunday night. Hopefully we can hit the ground running next week.

Gromff Hammerhand |

Sorry to railroad us towards Archdale but it seemed the most important matter to attend to considering what we left behind there. Hope everyone agrees.

Gamemaster Zedth |

Missed posting Sunday, got home late and tired from a busy weekend. Post(s) will be up tomorrow, by lunchtime (Pacific time).

Adakos Telthan |

I'm heading to Origins this week to support Pathfinder Society events there and will be very limited in my posting. I'll try to get up a post in the mornings or at night, but it will be sporadic at best. I'm there from Wednesday to Sunday, so I won't be back in full swing until next week. Just letting everyone know!

Gamemaster Zedth |

I'm so pissed off right now...
I always copy/paste my posts as I go along, so as to not lose them if an error occurs. My browser winked out after I had typed several paragraphs which are now lost because I hadn't copied/pasted recently...

Hey, thanks for the patience!
I’m back… Kinda…
I have only one more test and one more seminar, both scheduled to next week. I reckon I’ll be able to catch up and resume an acceptable posting rate.
Again, thanks for understanding. :)

Is the winged woman on top of a house?
We need 5 rounds to go back to our regular form guys, do you think we can catch the winged devil by surprise?

Gamemaster Zedth |

She is flying well above the scene, nearly 100' in the air, but she is currently over that section of the inn.

Gromff Hammerhand |

Then we have to spend at least 5 rounds watching things go down and after we only have 10ft of movement. Maybe we should swoop down and hide then let Adakos and Catcher blast the buzzard out of the air.

Gamemaster Zedth |

I think we can "ignore" the 5 rounds coalescing rule. Assume that combat is going on, assume that you're attempting to hide while reforming, and assume that Round 1 is immediately after you fully reform.
Perception vs Stealth rolls will occur at that time.
RAW, the bad guys would have a chance to see you guys right now. If they succeeded, they would get 5 rounds to attack you and/or chase you away from the scene, in which case you would spend a further 5 rounds healing and/or running back to the scene (or maybe a great deal more than 5 rounds considering how fast you can move right now in gaseous form).
That doesn't sound fun for anyone. I'm going to handwave that 5 round rule right now because of the circumstances. Let's just assume that you've "hidden" for 5 rounds, and at the end of that time the bad guys have chance to see you based on their perception.
In this case I believe Fun > RAW.

Gamemaster Zedth |

All of the above is based on the assumption that you plan on entering combat, which of course you may choose not to do. Please don't feel like I'm forcing you into anything.

Roland, just Roland |

You don't need to force Roland into battle, he will find his way in. Just one more question, do que know where the leaders of the faction are? Is that building their headquarters?

Roland, just Roland |

I think we're stuck because we are not sure where to go, Zedth. Did you see my question above? Is there any important part we could focus, or will we have to fight all the silvermane? Of course, that flying devil is a good option to take out right now, but with so many melee around us we should choose a better spot to fight it.
Maybe where those two guys are, on the northeast of the map, folks?

Gromff Hammerhand |

I was actually waiting on Catcher since you mentioned the flying one might be a harbinger. A valid assumption at this piont.

Gamemaster Zedth |

Sorry for missing this Roland.
"Leaders" is a fairly broad term in regards to such a large faction. One could make a knowledge nobility check but that would produce more info like names, places, and history as opposed to recognition in the heat of the moment.
In other words, it will be difficult to tell who the leaders may or may not be. The mounted knights in this combat scene are clearly higher ranking men than a typical soldier, based on their fine armor, weapons, and ride skill.
The building shown on the tactical map is the Greenshingles inn.
Is there any important part we could focus, or will we have to fight all the silvermane?
In the flavor text I tried to describe 2 specific scenes of specific combat, and some generalities stating there were skirmishes around various camp sites.
I opted to draw up the melee near the Greenshingles based on the following quote:
"Catcher would know. If it ain't then let's hit the flying one first, then we'll take on the cavalry." Gromff gathers up the wind, ready to fly off after the flying demon.
I'll be happy to scrap that battlefield for now, if you'd rather fight at the Silvermane camp complex. Let me know what you guys decide, or if you have any further questions.

Just wanted to let everyone know this morning that my schedule at Origins has been far more harsh than I anticipated. Been waking up at 6, getting to HQ by 7, working with the PFS players till around midnight, then getting back to the hotel and passing out. I woke up a bit earlier this morning, sleep be damned, so I had time to get this message out to all of my groups. I have free time tonight, as I'm open for our last slot, so I'll be getting an update out to my games then. Thanks for being patient! :)

Miro Ammar |

Sorry guys. I'm a controller where I work at, and two of the people who work for me have been out (one for mother-in-law who passed, other terribly ill). I have been super swamped! Sorry for the delay...I will get caught back up and try to stay that way.

Roland, just Roland |

Hey Zedth, may I ask about the surprise round? Does my hit landed?
Plus, I know they probably have shitty dexterity, but until they have acted they are flat-footed, which lowers their AC, right? Just checking...

Gamemaster Zedth |

Gosh dang it, you're right Roland. I forgot about that attack.
Though, I am not considering them flat-footed as they were already engaged in combat with the militia.
*editing the Round 1 bad guys actions now*
-Done. Round 1 should be complete and accurate now.

I just recalled a very good comic I read a long time ago. ^_^

FAVORITE COMIC besides Goblins EVER

Roland, just Roland |

The Goblin edition released some weeks ago was the best I've read in a loooong time, the one with 2 and 4 exchange... I laughed for days...

Gamemaster Zedth |

I can't seem to find the rule that I'm looking for.
The situation is based on Adakos' current position, next to the porch.
I want to grant Adakos cover from the Erinyes (due to Adakos being on the ground level and the Erinyes being raised by the porch).
I seem to remember a rule that didn't penalize the ranged attacker (Adakos) when firing from a position behind a wall/cover, but would still grant the +4 cover AC bonus from anyone retaliating with a ranged attack. (or melee, or that matter.)
Can someone help me out? Am I imagining this? Or do both the attacker and attackee suffer 'cover' penalties?

Gromff Hammerhand |

"The attacker can ignore the cover if he's closer to the obstacle than his target."
I know the cover rule stipulates that the closer person gets cover bonus.

Im traveling to india with no Internet until I get there, which is in about a day...
Saturday Ill update the game.

Roland, just Roland |

Some time ago I put up a picture to demonstrate how such rule worked, but in this case the obstacle in case was an animal companion, but it's still the same thing, in my opinion.
Here it is. The archer with the blue line of sight has cover against the other, but the opposite is not the same.

Gromff Hammerhand |

To all my games. My computer is having issues and until they are resolved, posting will hampered. I will try to get it fixed as quickly as possible. It is really boring without one.

Gamemaster Zedth |

Still need 2 rounds from Gromff. He probably still has computer issues. I'll GMPC tomorrow if we haven't heard from him.

Roland, just Roland |

Look at this wanna-be-barbarian trying to outdamage me!
For the record, I think you forgot either Miro's song bonus to damage or the power attack...

Gamemaster Zedth |

You guys did great. Those knights were buffed up nicely too.
They had Bless, Prayer, Magic Weapon, Bull Str, some excellent gear, and the cleric shed a +2 deflection bonus to their AC to anyone within 20' of him.

Hobo mode ON
