Boss, I've used the enlarge from a scroll. That's why it takes only a standard.
It's a cheap trick, I know. I confess being guilty.

Roland, just Roland |

Indeed there's something I'm missing there. I counted yesterday and it was +13, but I cannot seem to find where the other point came in, I know you're missing the blessing, which adds +1, but I can't check if there's anything else right now, but maybe I forgot to account for PA penalty.
So we were both missing something, sorry. There's the inspiration, of course, but Miro acts after me, so no...

Gamemaster Zedth |

Scrolls are spell completion items, and still use the same casting time as the spell itself.
Spell Completion: This is the activation method for scrolls. A scroll is a spell that is mostly finished. The preparation is done for the caster, so no preparation time is needed beforehand as with normal spellcasting. All that's left to do is perform the finishing parts of the spellcasting (the final gestures, words, and so on). To use a spell completion item safely, a character must be of high enough level in the right class to cast the spell already. If he can't already cast the spell, there's a chance he'll make a mistake. Activating a spell completion item is a standard action (or the spell's casting time, whichever is longer) and provokes attacks of opportunity exactly as casting a spell does.

Gamemaster Zedth |

My browser at work severely limits my ability to conduct combat. I will post bad guys' actions as soon as I get home tonight.
Sorry for the delay gang. The office firewall prevents me from editing the map, and even seeing the whole thing.

Gamemaster Zedth |

I know its corny, but I swapped out the robed icon for a pink-robed icon to represent the female who was shot by Tess.
The NCP's robe is not in fact pink... it is dark green like the rest of them.

Sorry for my absence. I had some problems, but I think it's okay now.

Roland, just Roland |

Ok this time I'm gonna ask before doing it. Considering Roland is something like 12 feet tall now, and has a reach of 10 feet, can he reach the drake with his melee attack??
And what's the radius of that acid cloud, please?

Gamemaster Zedth |

The acid cloud takes up 4 squares I think. It should be a 5' burst if I remember correctly. I can double check when I get home.
The Pathfinder rule set doesn't allow much for 3D combat, but I would interpret it as if we were simply on a cubical 3D grid. On the 2D surface, Roland takes up 10x10 and has reach, allowing him to attack any creature within two squares of his position.
With the drake being 20' high, that makes him essentially 4 full squares of distance from the ground, thus occupying the 5th and 6th squares (from 20'-30', being a large creature taking up a 10' cube). This would technically make him out of reach for Roland.
However, since the distance is UP and not OUT, I'll allow a jump check to reach him. If Roland can jump vertically 5' with a successful Acrobatics check (please look up the DC), then you may make a melee attack on the drake this round.

![]() |

Okay, call me dumb, I can't levitate Roland!
He is too heavy!
Levitate allows for 100 lbs/ level.
What means I can lift 300lbs.
Roland, because of the enlarge person, has his weight multiplied by 8.
Sorry, my first time playing a mage. >.<

Gamemaster Zedth |

I was wrong, the AoE of the acid ball and the mist that follows is a 10' radius spread. I have added the mist to the map.

Roland, just Roland |

Well, the squares you mentioned were off, that's why I asked. An advice: You can make a "poliline" and close it forming your are. Check it out I'll do it now.

@Jump
Remember Roland, it was enough for a 4ft high jump.
Maybe, if the DM is a caring and cool and lovingly person (Okay, I'm afraid of him), he'll let you hit with a 4ft high jump!

Tessandriel Siannodel |

Apologies for not having posted recently. I have not been feeling well. Having a very harsh headache, feels just about like a migraine, but I am not sure. I can't get myself in the mindset to play my characters when I am like that. It's a push just to be able to be at work. I'll get something in the morning when I settle in at work. I plan on quality sleep tonight so I'll be back in my groove soon. :-)

Gamemaster Zedth |

Feel better soon Tess!
Hey folks, busy night for me, and tomorrow night will also be busy. I'll do my best to post when I can, but I apologize in advance if I can't get a meaty post up until late.

Roland, just Roland |

So, I've taken a look at the pfsrd and could not find one thing. I had the impression that my weapon could degrade to destroyed if I kept using it while broken, but I could not find that information.
It just says the weapon have -2 on attacks and damage using it. In any case, even if it has a chance of breaking it, Roland will keep his action.

Gamemaster Zedth |

You know I would have sworn the same thing. I thought that your weapon took continued damage when it was "broken", but I also was unable to find any rules to corroborate this.
I'll look deeper later, but for now ignore it. Your weapon will simply stay at 1/2 HP.

Gromff Hammerhand |

Why stay? We kick ass. Now we haul ass before the rest of the army shows up.

Gromff Hammerhand |

I think the ogre went north and the horn is coming from the south. And at this point I think we could "obliterate" him but that was a lot of spells in our favor, they are practically over and you should be fatigued now.
Question DM. Can we retrain feats if we get some downtime. I want to switch Saving Shield for Heavy armor. If I am going to be tanky I want to be the best damn tank I can be.
*Edit Now that I think about it I probably should have been a Warpriest but I don't think the ACG was out when we started.

Gamemaster Zedth |

I am totally OK with retraining feats. You can swap out feats when you guys level up next. Just please clear the swap with me first.
To clarify the horn sounds, couple of points--
The original horns were heard from the south. You guys were having the row with the angel at the farmstead, and when you heard/saw the armies moving out you all decided to beat feet and move north.
The Ogre was travelling north when you heard about him while still in Sojourn, but you saw an ogre matching his description just now here in this camp, when Tess and Miro were scouting. He departed due east, on the path that leads out of camp.
The current horn blaring is coming from the east, deeper into the woods. It could be the ogre, an army, or something else entirely. There is no way to know for certain yet. You can however deduce that the armies you saw would have to travel somewhat slower than you did as a group on foot, moving over the countryside.

Roland, just Roland |

I favor putting up a defense, if we have some healing. We need information, gold, and to stop running from these guys. Plus, the "dragon cult" is probably those guys, and the kids cannot be far.
Now, WHO are these soldiers in the middle of a forest, and what are they protecting?

Gamemaster Zedth |

Gromff, I believe you're still just shy of full health. I have you at 27/30. Previously at 16/30, from the 24 points of acid damage, reduced by 10 from resistance.
Is this correct in your estimation?

Gromff Hammerhand |

I thought I took 10. My bad. 3 shy then.

Tessandriel Siannodel |

Gamemaster Zedth |

Yep, dude rolled really high and had a high modifier. It was late when I posted, so I didn't bother to look at everyone's character to see if the DC was even possible. I didn't mean to string you along, it was just late and I wanted to go to bed!
Miro has a +5, then a +10 next to his sense motive, which i'm not sure what that means. He might be able to pull this off. I'll let him chime in before I move forward with a surprise round action.
Today is my game-day with buddies, so I'll be at my RL PF game for the afternoon until late. I might be able to chime in during that time, we'll see. But at the very least, I'm here and ready for the next few hours.

Gamemaster Zedth |

I'll keep that in mind Miro, thank you.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Back to business! Combat ensues!!

![]() |

GM, some questions.
This is happening after Catcher is back? Also, I wanted to check the female cultist, and see if she is still alive, and if yes, try to stabilize her, to question and get information.

Gamemaster Zedth |

Sure thing. We'll assume you went to stabilize her before you grabbed Aersensi and Walker. Go ahead and make your roll.
The combat ensues when you're reentering camp. I placed you near the bottom of the camp site on the tactical map.
