This will be thenines entrant, she will need adjusting of course. I fully plan on mixing in levels of alchemist.
The only question i have is she was originally created as a dhampir. If that race doesnt work for you its no problem, will adjust thabks for the consideration amd will fet to work on the adjusts

GM Zek |

Gonna throw in an unchained rogue at this because I love me some unchained rogues in this game. Time to get some stuff in order and properly write some background etc etc.
Look forward to seeing it. Take your time, there's no rush.
I'll throw in. Give me a chance to rejigger her a little. She was originally in a Council of Thieves game, but this AP seems much more what I had hoped for that AP.
EDIT: I think she's pretty much in order and will be at the protest... Looking for Trouble.
I like the basic concept. It looks like you still have a few details in your backstory associated with Westcrown, so you'll want to update those.
Interested. :)
Thinking of a half-elven swashbuckler with the Gifted Satirist trait.
I'm intrigued, tell me more. : )

I'm open to a Dhampir, but she'll need a compelling reason to fight for Kintargo. What's keeping her from seeking out other branches of her family when things start to go downhill? Also, as written, Dhampir tend to be evil, but you have Canacha listed as CG. You might want to flesh out a bit what it looks like for her to be that alignment in relation to her race. Look forward to the updates.
I'll be posting a current list of applicants in a few minutes so everyone can see what roles have or haven't had applicants. Thanks again for your interest everyone. Let me know if I missed anyone and my apologies in advance if so.

If you feel it's necessary, I'm okay with it, but please let me know if you make a major change like switching your class. I’ll only be considering one application per player, so keep that in mind as well. Hopefully the chart above will give would-be applicants ideas about what direction to take potential characters.

Small, medium, large. It was a maxim that'd been in Meliora's life since she first started at Lady Docur's School for Girls--one that existed to remind her of the order in which things always happened. Small issues grew over a medium amount of time and became large problems. Unfortunately for her teenage years, the first example she got of it was her small preference towards not wearing formal dresses. This didn't go over well in a finishing school for the daughters of rich nobles, and developed over a medium amount of time into the large problem of having gossip and rumors being spread about her behind her back. This in turn proved to be a small issue when her increasing isolation and inability to talk to girls in pretty dresses without a lot of stuttering changed over a medium amount of time into the larger still problem of starting a fight with one of her fellow students, who had called her an unappealing, unwedable tomboy to her face.
She had won the fight, but was expelled for her trouble.
Good girls didn't fight. With her family ready to disown her (as her father was hoping to use her as a pawn to marry into one of the more successful families), she took the initiative and ran away from home in shame. Alone and destitute without a cent of restitution, she would have died in the streets if she had been less astute. Instead, she wrote treatises on the stars and the patterns they hold within them--she earned her way into another academy on scholarship, and trained in the art of being a wizard. Ah, but that's another story.
Meliora's current predicament also involved a small issue: her increasing dependence upon a cute girl named Eliza Carmine. A Calistrian cleric, Meliora had developed a habit of buying time with her so that she could complain about whatever inane things had raised her ire of late to a sympathetic ear. To be honest, she couldn't even say for sure they were friends, but having never been very good at having any of those she was willing to take what she could get. Over a medium amount of time after a certain Thrune's recent ascension to power, however, Meliora found herself with another large problem: Her favorite place of respite was gone and in its place was a bank. Eliza was nowhere to be found, and that left a new small problem: she no longer had anyone to talk to. She'd always focused too much on her studies to do a thing like make real friends... and now even the fake one had stopped calling.
She was alone, and without a way to properly express her frustrations. Calistria's tenets here were clear: seek vengeance. Thrune had opponents, and some of them were organized. She heard about a planned protest in a park, and decided to go to add her voice to the din.
She could see it already: A small issue like Thrune suddenly coming into power, given a medium amount of time...
Large problems were looming on the horizon.
"For better or worse, I'll get my revenge."
At least this time, they were problems she was going to make herself.
She's totally going to the meeting to Protest the Government.

I see what you did there. Did you happen to have the same soundtrack going through your head while writing that as I did when I wrote Evander's backstory?

GMZeke- I don't have a lot of specifics on Kintargo other than the sketch in the PG. I guessed that House Sarini would be the most vocal supporters of Asmodeus and Thrune... Do you know who the Lord of that House is? Also, the 2 NPCs and locations I have linked to Moondark were required from the application to another game and I kind of liked them, but if they don't fit, I can nix them. I'm guessing that Rebels probably has a Bellflower Network for Kintargo which I'm happy to use and I see that the River Talons is a local gang that Selkie Jim could serve.

She took her usually seat near the hearth and removed her very nice top hat setting it aside and pulling out her book. The bar maid knew precisely what she was going to order, in fact, she rarely even ordered anymore they just brought her what she needed. She could see the girls apologetic half smile as she brought the cup over but before she could speak Canacha did.
"I know, no mint, its okay."
Her voice held enough of a tinge of bitterness it was clear she wasnt that happy about it.Distractions were abound tonight it seemed her mind just couldn't work on the calculation to a new formulae for a more efficient black powder in her mind, so she just pulled out her trusty abacus and sat there doing the figures with a frown on her pretty soot covered face her eyes glazed over in thought. Word in the little cafe was that the city's new 'Lord Mayor' might have even more outlandish proclamations to make soon. There was also word of a protest forming about all the new laws. She had already worked up the excuse needed to go watch it if not take part, No mint in her tea? Pah!

Hell's Rebels, uh? Always wanted to give it a try, so let's dot it...
Not sure what to apply with, but surely something will come out. As for the background, I have in mind a young and easily influenced Silver Raven follower, who's game only because he wants to oppose authority, and will develop his sense of liberty and justice when he finds out what's happening.

The current leader of House Sarini is Countess Urora Sarini. I like the changes you made, though, so I wouldn't worry about doing anything major. If selected, I'll plan to incorporate those NPCs into the plot. There is a Bellflower Network in Kintargo or there was, at least (their current status is left somewhat ambiguous at the start of the AP for players). And no worries about the name.

I like the backstory. Did you have a particular academy in mind that Meliora went to after Lady Docur's?
I do not. The only things I can say for sure about it is that it was in Villegre and that it wasn't Alabaster Academy. They wouldn't take a chance on a student who got expelled once already.

I do not. The only things I can say for sure about it is that it was in Villegre and that it wasn't Alabaster Academy. They wouldn't take a chance on a student who got expelled once already.
Okay, that's fair. The Alabaster Academy does have some exacting standards. If selected, we can work out the specifics at that point.

I laughed at a few different points in your backstory. Gifted Satirist was a good choice. I liked your backstory from the first person perspective, but want to make sure you know that gameplay posts would need to be in the third person as per suggestions from both Doomed Hero and Painlord. I also noticed you took bard as your second favored class. Are you planning to take levels in that at some point?

Hello again!
The idea that I had in mind involved picking a sorcerer/bloodrager bloodline at some point. Is it ok to substitute some bloodline powers with bloodline mutations?

GM Zek |

Need to update my background from the format of the game she was created for but throwing my hat into the ring.
Look forward to seeing the updates. Unless I'm mistaken, though, you won't be able to take the Urban and Toxophilite archetypes at the same time since each replaces endurance.

Bloodline mutations are fine as long as they're published by Paizo. The ones you linked are good.

Matiscio Tartaluna |

BACKGROUND
--------------------
Born and raised in Kintargo under the loving guidance of a Chelish army officer and the daughter of a well-off Kintargan merchant. Matiscio’s childhood years were unscathed by hardships, but life has its way to ensure that once it does start to rain, it starts pouring. First his father was taken away from him, struck by a sudden and virulent disease. With the love and sunshine of her life taken away from her, Matiscio’s mother started to wilt away like a flower would. Whereas his father was ripped away from him in a matter of days, the Gods took their time weighing and judging his mother before they yanked her out of her mortal coil.
The young adult resorted to drowning out his miseries. To this day he isn’t sure whether it was sheer luck or simply fate that caused his drunken self to run into Master Jalpur at Aria Park.
--------------------
Story time: True self is without form.
Uneasy footsteps dragged forth a heap of misery and self-pity. The young man’s face made no secret of his inebriated state, eyes permanently squinted yet unable to focus on any one thing for more than a second. If that wasn’t enough to tip one off, the blazing cheeks would. Sargavan rum was so thick and heavy a liquid that it could drown anything and Matiscio had attempted to throw his entire mind into a jug of that sticky alcohol. He staggered from left to right over the uneven granite street stones. The man’s saving grace was the fact he had traversed this route oh so many times before yet he couldn’t help but let go a sigh of relief as he finally made it into Aria Park. Here the rough granite road made place for a gravel path. Matiscio loved the crunchy noise these paths made and couldn’t help but be entranced by it.
Eyes glued to his feet, the drunkard wasn’t even aware of the fact he had bumped right into an elderly man who was now holding him in place with one hand. Where had the gravel gone? These blades of green underneath, t’was grass! Wobbly eyes wobbled up to stare with incomprehension at the wizened old man. Harsh dark eyes pierced right through his drunken stupor and Matiscio felt like the man was asking him a question, over and over again. Finally he comprehended the words, thick and dripping with a rich foreign accent, “This vicious circle ends here. I hold your body, but you must bring forth your mind.”
All Matiscio wanted to do was slip around and evade this confrontation with a truth he wasn’t yet ready to deal with. A clumsy attempt to sidestep the man’s iron grip failed, ending with Matiscio falling down onto a knee. It was only the man’s grip on him that kept the heap of misery from collapsing into the grass. A voice filled with care and warmth reached him once more and tears started rolling down the dipsomaniac’s cheeks as they decrypted the man’s accent. “Your soul is resisting the urges and desperations of your mind and flesh. Whatever ails you deserves to be recognized and then embraced.”
The young man’s mind could not, would not, yield. Words fell out of his mouth as they tripped over his tongue. “Let me go. I am on my way to Temple Hill Gardens. I must tend to my mother’s grave!” Yet his flesh ached. A thirst was burning within him. It craved to be sated. And there was this one pub on the way to the graveyard that served the most delectable absinthe from Absalom. A face filled with sorrow shook from left to right and there it was again, that warm voice. “No. This ends here.”
One more struggle, so short, so brief, and all went dark. The Vudrani man apologized to the gathered students and knelt down to collect the unconscious drunkard. “The session is over. Ponder this lesson and judge not, for life ends up tugging at the strings of our mind, body and soul sooner or later. Let it inspire you to better yourselves and when we next meet, tell me what it inspired you to do. May Irori help us find enlightenment.”
--------------------
Master Jalpur helped the lost young man find his way from an endless ocean of alcohol back to port. Through inward reflection and the firm believe that peace comes from within Matiscio started to mend. The road to the graveyard at Temple Hill Gardens was now a journey of the self. But disaster would strike one more time.
--------------------
Story time: Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace.
It was a rainy day it was. Matiscio repeatedly slapped himself in the face whilst staring into a mirror, wishing to wake up just a little faster. Yesterday had been a good day, but today his body ached. He looked down to his right wrist and noticed that the cut had started to scab. Surely it would leave behind a discoloration of the skin, not quite a scar, but yet a physical reminder of his journey towards perfection. Matiscio grinned, knowing well that any such journeys only led man towards his flaws. A quick shave later and the man found himself traversing the same old streets, the rain washing away what shaving roam he had missed. Observant eyes tried to notice any and all changes in his surroundings and when he arrived at Aria Park, he went through the list. His neighbor had planted new flowers in her garden. The baker was now asking an extra copper for a large flat bread. The bells of the church of Asmodeus rang at yet another random moment.
Matiscio hadn’t made it through half of the list when he noticed something else was off. The gravel path leading to a small remote pavilion in Aria Park had been disturbed: someone had scraped through it with an armored boot or offered resistance .. to what? Being arrested? Kidnapped? The man hastened his approach, but every step only filled his mind with ever more worry. There was only one student to be found at the pavilion and she stared at Matiscio with one eye. Dismay shot through him. The girl, a lithe Korvosan native by the name of Jaya, had been repeatedly pummeled in the face and her left cheek and eye were a bloody mess! “They’ve taken him! Th-th-the city guard and hell knights!” Her voice was dripping with defeat and Matiscio wrapped her up in his arms, only then noticing the parchment hanging from a hellish nail at the entrance to the pavilion.
To all citizens, let it be known that I, Barzillai Thrune, won’t, shan’t and cannot accept any and all defiance to the rightful rule of Queen Abrogail, the first of her name, of House throne. The denizens of this pavilion, a house of training and reflection under the misguided eyes of Irori, have been found wanting in their submission to the Throne and its leader, a so-called Master, has shown a lack of loyalty and respect to both the history of Kintargo and its leadership. As such, the activities have been shut down and, until further notice, to remain inactive.
Any and all transgressions against the laws of our blessed city should be reported to the city watch. Vigilant citizens will be rewarded for doing so. May Asmodeus breathe heavily down upon us all!
Signed,
Barzillai Thrune
A spark now kindled within the man. It was a new feeling and sensation. First, the urge to give in to hatred and violence welled up within him. But the wreck of a once beautiful girl, now safely lodged in his arms, reminded him of the folly of that path. It wasn’t until later that day, when he found himself staring out of the window of his abode, that he realized what it was that he had felt. It was a sense of purpose. Next to him the poor girl had finally found sleep and Matiscio knew that the days ahead wouldn’t be easy.
--------------------
The disappearance of Master Jalpur, to this day still unresolved, first caused chaos and disorder, but Matiscio knew that as long as he kept on walking, life would show him the path forward. Whispers of civil disobedience ran through the streets and back-alleys. Repeatedly the name of the Silver Ravens was mentioned. Sometimes it felt more like a prayer, with people invoking their name as if it would somehow cause them to return and bring peace back to Kintargo. No prayer would do such a thing, but hard work and diligence might. And so Matiscio dug and burrowed for information, piecing together bit by bit of information on these Silver Ravens and the many folktales surrounding them. Many times did he wonder if what he was doing wasn’t simply folly. Perhaps, but the journey so far had been successful at helping Matiscio truly find himself.
Oh my, that's a bigger background than I expected, but the words just kept on coming. All the other stuff is on his profile page. I tried to weave the city, its places and its curiousities into his background.
Do let me know if there are any questions :)

This is what I have written up till now about Ricky "The Dragon"'s background. I'll add in a physical description and a small resumee of his life, together with le crunch, in a bit.
Yesterday night…
”Hey, Rick! How you doin’ tonight?” greeted Hans. Ricky just raised a hand, returning the salute. He was quite busy that night, actually, but not with the kind of business one might expect from a boatman and smuggler.
Yes, of course he smuggled. ”What the heck am I supposed to do if I want a warm meal? It’s not that easy jobs are raining from the sky, here.” Life for him had always been tough, being an orphan in a city like Kintargo and specially if your features don’t match the majority, but recent events haven’t exactly contributed to improve the situation.
”So” said Hans, who’d got closer in his casual walking while Ricky was absent minded, ”seems you’re packing for the day, aren’t you?” Ricky looked at Hans, a bit surprised, and went on finishing his packing. ”Yeah, you know, the curfew… I don’t really want any trouble today” he answered hurriedly.
------- o -------
Two nights before…
Ricky went into the tavern, excited and nervous, and quickly reached the bar. ”An ale” he ordered, turning his head left and right to see if the person he was to meet that night was already there.
”Good evening” said a deep voice, and a middle aged man suddenly sat on a stool next to his. ”Another” said the man to the barmaid, and then turned its attention back on Ricky. “So, I’ve been investigating what we talked about the other day.”[/b] The man took a sip of ale as soon as their jars were ready. He had a slight overweight and a relatively bland face. ”It took me some tips and favours, but I managed to find someone who might know about the subject. He is willing to meet you in three days.”
Ricky’s eyes opened widely. ”Finally! The Silver Ravens!” He felt his mouth dry, reached for his jar and noticed his hand was trembling.
Since Ricky first knew about the Silver Ravens they had been his idols. A group of freedom fighters, defending their city against tyrants and oppressors, was too romantic for an 18 year old like Ricky to resist. So Ricky had been studying them and other freedom movements, and when the Ravens suddenly went dead on the radio, he thought they were planning something big. And just at the same time, his new powers developed. Clearly, it was destiny. So, even if he has always believed in destiny, he decided to help destiny a bit.
”So” he said, trying to hesitate his thrill, ”tell me about it.”
”A man with a black leather glove in only one hand will meet you in three days in Aria Park, where the protests are scheduled. Wear something blue.”
------- o -------
Yesterday night…
”No trouble, huh?” said Hans with an inquisitorial gaze.
”Of course, idiot. I can’t risk being caught tonight and not being able to be at Aria Park tomorrow” he thought. But all it came from his mouth was a plain ”I have to go now, Hans. See you tomorrow?” He’d never been good with lies, and was aware that keeping up with the conversation would only make it worse. He picked his backpack and started to walk away.
Hans waited till Ricky walked past him, and then added ”Whatever is it that you’re in, take care, kiddo.”

If I get bored and decide to write more stuff for Meliora between now and the 22nd is that okay?
Yes, definitely. When it comes time to pick, one of my reasons for passing on candidates won't be, This character just has too long of a backstory. Feel free to write away.
** spoiler omitted **... Oh my, that's a bigger background than I expected, but the words just kept on coming. All the other stuff is on his profile page. I tried to weave the city, its places and its curiousities into his background.

Background and stats look good. Is Master Jalpur intended to be a member of the Sacred Order of Archivists?
Crap! Yeah.
I think Urban might be the bigger benefit in the long run.
Hi Canacha!
I agree. Feel free to take multiple archetypes, they just need to be compatible.

Sounds good. I thought you probably did, but wanted to make sure, for everyone else's benefit if nothing else. I also noticed you chose Milani as your deity. Was there a particular reason?

I like the dialogue. Have you worked out how Ricky became an orphan?

GM Zek |

#Gm_Zek: that is entirely up to you, but it would make sense. I havent played the AP so I dont know whether that will come into play or not :)
I like leaving the DM some possibly hooks when writing backgrounds.
I like hooks, since they do indeed give me more to work with. Master Jalpur's background is something that could be determined later, if necessary.
GM: Mostly because I was waffling between her and Cayden Cailean. But I settled on Milani because she's the goddess of uprisings and just rebellions, and Lia likes poking at the status quo with her editorials.
Since there isn't a formal church of Milani in Kintargo, I was curious as to how Lia would have come to worship her. But however she came to worship Milani, her reasoning for doing so makes sense.

Rick "The Dragon" |

Hi, this is Jereru presenting Ricky's crunch and alias, together with a bit of backstory. Not finished yet, probably some more gear to buy and fluff to add explaining some loose ends.
Have you worked out how Ricky became an orphan?
I didn't think about that since Ricky doesn't know and it might be a good surprise in game, but if you want me to elaborate I will.

Narl just happened to be in Kintargo tracking a bounty, he was there to find a run away halfling who apparently absconded with its former lords family jewels. The Lord was a loud mouth who didn't want it to be known that his property was stealing his belongings.
Narl had travelled for 3 days on horse back to get to Kintargo, he was tired and he just needed a drink and a place to lay low. Upon arriving in the city, it seemed odd that some of the streets were barren, making his way slowly to the inn he stayed at usually Narl stabled his horse. Finding out about the protest that was taking place, Narl figured it might be a good place to find his prey.
Checking to make sure that he had everything, he made a quick stop at one of the garrisons to get a rit saying he could continue to track his bounty here. Once he had that, after making the guard piddle them selves a little he headed off to the protest.

I realized after perusing your profile again that I didn't see your reason to be at the protest. I'd like to know what that is when you have time.
Hi, this is Jereru presenting Ricky's crunch and alias, together with a bit of backstory. Not finished yet, probably some more gear to buy and fluff to add explaining some loose ends.
GM Zek wrote:Have you worked out how Ricky became an orphan?I didn't think about that since Ricky doesn't know and it might be a good surprise in game, but if you want me to elaborate I will.
I like the basic idea, at least. I'll be curious to know how Rick ended up in Kintargo. I'm also interested to see what Rick's campaign trait is. And don't worry about elaborating on his parents. If selected, that would be something to incorporate into the story.

I take it Narl isn't a native of Kintargo? Is he a native of Cheliax and/or been to Kintargo frequently in the past? Also, I didn't see a specific reason for being at the protest.
