Hey Mayday, we played together in this very campaign with GM Dave the Dwarf last year. I'd like to submit Hajar for this one!
I'll fix his sheet tomorrow. But the character concept and everything would remain the same. Paladin of Sarenrae who is interested in finding his adopted sister Halleen and redeeming the poor souls of Kelmerane.
this has been my favorite GM, though he has disappeared as of late
Ah Hajar I remember you from David's game.. I am sad he was gone for he was a mighty fine GM.

Khayal Bin Haleen |

Coming back to the world around him he sighs, reaches down and grabs his pack. There is nothing remarkable about what he owns, one of many armed travelers, barely above notice. But that is not his destiny...

Submitting Yazi, Female Half-Elf Cavalier (Huntmaster) :3
A tall woman dressed in heavy garb of red and brown staggers slightly hungover to where the rest of the caravan awaits. Her skin is a soft caramel tone, offset by her sharp ears and even more by the rude song she seems to be trying to remember as she staggers forward.
♫I kill two gnolls in da morning, I kill two gnolls at night,
I kill two gnolls in the afternoon, and then I feel alright.
I kill two gnolls in time of peace and two in time of war,
I kill two gnolls before I kill two gnolls, and then I kill two more.♫
She has a rather large feather coming out of the top of her helmet along with a large sword sheathed in a red sash as opposed to scabbard strapped to her back.

Grrr stupid post locked up and timed out while I was trying to put in Yazi's backstory

Hey all Chillblame here
Here is my submission Tel Mistkill, a ranger devoted to ending the gnoll threat. Crunch and other details are on the profile, but here is his back story.
Tel was brought up in rural Kapatesh, in a small farming village. His life was good, until the day Gnoll raiders attacked, on a slave hunt. The villagers rallied and fought, but Tel lost his family that day. His father and mother died, and he never found his brother and two sisters. He made his first gnoll kill that day. Nearly grown, he decided to seek out gnolls and harry them wherever they be. This lead him to learning the ways of the wild, and of the blade. He had spent years hunting and killing gnolls, and was bound on a dark path, when he encountered a wandering ranger of Erastil. Markus, who hailed from the north, taught him to harness his anger, into a passion to protect others from his families fate. So Tel took up the path of Erastil, and strives to temper his anger, to protect rather than seek vengence'.
Tel still hates Gnolls, but now he aims to protect others. To this day he still seeks word of his lost siblings

Here's one of my favorite Campaigns I've been in so (also my first and still ongoing):
Your Benevolent Dictator's Reign of Winter.
My character in that one is Lyosha Neverhome, and we're having a blast. Enjoying the game, and the GM and fellow players are cool :3

Hadassa |

cartmanbeck! I think it would be an honor to have the author of THE SAINT class in our game. I'm starting to get excited here!
We've got a good mix of veterans and new recruites. Here are the final picks and I would like to invite you to move to the discussion thread so we can flesh things out!
Thank you everyone who applied. Happy gaming!

Hope I'm not too late to apply...
Background
Reta mem Sota was born a Badawi prince. Fierce and prideful, his people raided and fought with their nomadic neighbours, and traded and intermingled with the Janni of the deepest desert. They brooked no insult and took their fill from those weaker than them, living life in the harsh sand swept plains of southern Katepesh to the fullest. And so it was until Reta’s people met ones stronger and fiercer than they. In a rocky canyon they were ambushed and overrun by gnolls in greater number than had ever gathered before.
Left for dead Reta wander the desert alone for many moons. He would have died many times, but the spirits of the sands called to him on the scorching wind and taught him their secrets – the secrets of the viper, the vulture, and the scorpion.
For a time the proud young Badawi prince was fuelled by vengeance. He stalked straggling gnolls and exacted blood for his fallen people where he could, learning in time that the gnolls who murdered his people were led by the one known as the Carrion King.
But along the way, the “Prince of Nothing,” as he mockingly referred to himself, grew weary of vengeance. The blistering sun burned the hate from him. The blowing sand scoured away his boastful ways, and the cold nights of solitude cooled his wrath.
The trail of the Carrion King eventually led him to the outskirts of civilization where he skulked about for some time, unsure of what to do next. But when news reached him that Garavel was looking for brave men and women to aid in retaking the village of Kelmarane from a tribe of gnolls in the service of the notorious Carrion King, the flame of vengeance flickered to life once more in Reta's chest. He knew he had to be part of the group, and signed up immediately. Reta now travels with the Kelmarane caravan, ending his long isolation in hopes of bringing low the Carrion King and finally bringing peace to his people.
Personality
Reta mem Sota tries hard to live serenely -his thought fluid as the shifting sand, letting anger and hate blow through him as the dessert wind, but in truth the haughty and arrogant nomad prince of his childhood lurks just beneath the surface, He can be quick to anger, stubborn, and unforgiving to those that earn his ire, yet jovial, generous and loyal to those whom earn his trust.
Party Role:
Suli Desert Druid. Reta will grow to be a mobile wild shaping melee fighter who can support the party through buffing, occasional summons, and some healing. Though leaning towards an animal companion like a giant scorpion, snake or other horror of the deep desert I’m quite willing to take the desert domain instead if the GM prefers not to deal with extra pets in an already large party. Full crunch available if selected or upon request. Also perfectly willing to switch to human if suli is a no go (thinking suli mostly for cool fluff and campaign appropriateness anyway)
This campaing has been great fun for me. The GM runs an active game where he encourages role playing and plot driven story telling. He involves the players in decision making, and keeps things moving - particularly important in a PbP. He also throws us curves and keeps us thinking by (I suspect) deviating from the published material to customize the game and keep our interest over the many months of real time it takes to play.
Pathfinder is my go to RPG because I am a high fantasy junky, but also because the system is easy to learn and use yet can scratch my occasional itch to really dive into the numbers. People can play it casually or deeply within the same group and each still have a great time with it.
Thanks for your consideration!
edit: Doh! Missed it by 6 minutes! Keep me in mind if something opens up...

Hello, Gambit. Good to have you in the game. LOL
I was so excited to see that the Card Caster and Staff Magus archetypes can go together... so I really can play Gambit! Super awesome!
I don't think he'll be very optimal, but I worry about that less in non-PFS games, especially when we're going to have 8 players... we don't need to be optimized LOL

Anjali Nejem |

The one thing that I've found so far that I really like about PbP is how much more in character people can get, since you have a good amount of time to think about what you're going to say. I'm hoping to figure out how to represent the Louisiana creole accent in text form for Bartan's speech. LOL
Yes. It's exactly this that draws me to PbP over tabletop. I don't have to worry about sounding awkward when I try to convey what my character would really do in a situation. PbP gives you so much more latitude to dig deeper into your character.
Good luck with the accent. I've had to do Creole before and resorted to peppering in French words at times. Not sure how that would play for a Varisian.
And oh my word, we should probably be talking in the discussion section. :D

The Emerald Duke |

Dotting for interest and because I just found out about this from you in our PFS game. Haven't created a character yet, will set to work on it once I get home from work.
My first character to actually play a PBP game is Alexos Virden who is currently playing in the In Service To Lore PFS scenario, run by GM Baerlie. While he is a lawful good monk, I am not sold on having to play that alignment.
I have had a great time roleplaying his reactions to the environment, traps, characters, and fellow players. While I enjoy making rolls, I prefer making posts.
If its a bit late for a submission, no problem and have fun. If it isn't though I should have a character posting on here soon.

----------------NEW PLAYERS NEEDED--------------
Hello all,
I'm re-opening this Recruitment threat to get one, maybe two more players for Hadassa's Legacy of Fire. Hi there. I'm GM_Pace. I took over when Hadassa's RL job was too much for her and she had to stop being GM. I'm with a totally awesome group of players who just finished the first book of Legacy of Fire, Howl of the Carrion King. Due to the hiatus between the previous GM and myself, as well as some having new conflicts and possibly not liking my GM-style, we're down to four players. I'd like five players, and could handle six players on the team. We'll be starting the second book, House of the Beast, soon.
What the GM and the players are looking for is another player joining the adventure. We post a minimum of once per day, but we've maintained a fairly breakneck speed of 5-7 posts per day per player (and GM) during battles, less on the weekends. No conflicts or friction between players - we get along with each other.
- 15pt buy, Min 8 Max 18 after modifiers (plus 4th Level bump)
- Core races only (no gnolls)
- 2 traits; not limited to Legacy of Fire traits, since we've already Found Haleen
- hp: max 1st level, then choose half per level or roll for it
- Start at Level 4 (but be ready for Level 5)
- standard Wealth By Level for Level 4 (6,000 gp - 25% of their wealth on weapons, 25% on armor and protective devices, 25% on other magic items, 15% on disposable items like potions, scrolls, and wands, and 10% on ordinary gear and coins.)
- Legacy of Fire starts in the desert region of Katapesh. So dress appropriately.
Currently playing:
Hajar nar Jundi, Male (Human) Paladin 3/Life Oracle 1 - self-explanatory
Yazi, Female (Half-Elf) Order of the Moon Cavalier (Huntmaster) 4 - unique in and unto herself
Khayal Bin Haleen, Male (Human) Fighter 4 (Weapon Master) - adoptive brother to Hajar by Haleen (NPC)
Bartan Harrowborn, Male Human (Varisian) Card Caster Magus 3/Rogue 1 - our Harrow-dealing arcane user
Nearly every class is open for new players, but the team members have requested more arcane users. As the players fight right now, they're deadly once the enemy gets into melee, but have little ranged capability. A new guy or gal who is a glass cannon with some group defense or group buffs would be ideal. The team is light on healing as well, but the paladin is multi-classing into Oracle of Life to make up for it. You will be starting the game with a side adventure from Howl of the Carrion King, so don't worry about going in without knowing how to fight with the others after a long roleplay-only session.
Legacy of Fire is a long-term Adventure Path, so a player with longevity is desired. Haleen from the Adventure Path is available to be turned into a PC from a NPC. Previous PCs have died or wandered away. If you've played Legacy of Fire before and have the maturity to keep your mouth shut as you play it again, I don't have a problem with that. (Say for players who got to Book Three only to have the game die, and want to continue, even if it means re-starting at Book Two.)
Me as GM: my intro to the players, and my profile page. Yes, I make jokes at the gaming table. Sometimes a player can pull one at the GM's expense. Expect modern-day references for NPC pictures/actions. We're using Google Docs for maps, images, spreadsheets, etc.
This new recruitment starts on 25 Oct and will close on 29 Oct or sooner depending on how the current team members vote.

Hajar nar Jundi |

As a player in this game I am very much NOT interested in your character class/race/whatever you want to play. I want to know about you as a player, your posting habits, your preferred playstyle and how you feel about the AP.
Then, I'd like to know about how your character fits into the AP and story as it has been presented.
Only after that do I even remotely care about your class/race/feat choices or whatever.
As the GM said, we are looking for the right PLAYER. That player can play whatever character suits his/her fancy

Jarva bin-Stavain |

This is Jarva, a character I played in a LoF game a couple years ago here on the boards. I loved him and the AP. He is currently level three, and based on a 20 point buy. If the group were interested, I would happily advance him in level and knock him down to a 15 point buy.
I am an active player here on the boards. I think I now have around 17k posts, almost all of them here in the PbP forums. I am a daily poster at minimum and shoot for 2-3 posts a day when possible.
I'd be willing to make any adjustments the party recommends. PM me with any questions, comments, or recommendations. Thanks for the consideration.

GM_Pace |

Just to reiterate, we're looking for submissions more on the background of the PC and the quality of the player, rather than the "crunch". I put in the "glass cannon" comment just to give everyone an idea of where the current team might be lacking tactically-speaking as the GM.
And we've literally just started recruiting, so keep the questions coming. :)

GM_Pace |

@Nohwear: I finally found it on the PFSRD - Hunter (Scarab Stalker). It looks like a "druid lite" build to the uninformed (like myself). Go ahead, Nohwear, but let's see your background/motivation first.

magnumCPA |

Here is my character I made, a dragon blooded sorcerer with a lot of evocation spells. His motivation involves getting Kelmerane up and ready for trading, but I'm thinking he may also have ties to the Pathfinder society if he'd have to fit into the categories at the beginning.
Nicknames: Azar the Djinn-Blood
Race: Human (Kelishite)
Class: Sorcerer 4
Bloodline: Dragon(Blue)
Gender: Male
Hometown: Solku, Katapesh
'Go to Kelmerane, we'll make some new connections.' she said 'Our family business will expand' she said
'Send brother, brother will solve everything. Brother has the blood of the djinn, brother has nothing important to do. Brother loves the heat and the lack of water and being caught between the gnolls and the zealots and unwashed toothless bandits.' Azar said mockingly.
It was bad enough that his sister, as the head of the family business was trying to get him into some cynical sham of a political marriage, but now she saw fit to send him to the wastes around Kelmerane in an effort to bring order to the region and make it fit for trade. Where others see a homeland to save, a chance to get even with beastmen or even a chance to please their god, a member of the wealthy Kalmeralm family sees profit and adventure. Maybe not today, maybe not even tomorrow, it could even take a year, but eventually a Kalmeralm always manages to turn a profit. At least that is what Azar's family always told him.
Description: Azar is a dusky skinned man with a chiseled face, and aquiline nose, and broad shoulders. In some respects he is the aesthetic ideal for a Keleshite nobleman. His eyes are almost black as coals, and his nails are abnormally long and sharp, but he manages to appear refined despite these minor off-putting features. He sports a neat beard and long hair, despite being relatively unimposing he carries himself as though he is much larger, knowing his spells can take down men twice his size. He dresses in the typical attire of a rich bazaar merchant with a colorful headdress and fine linen robes.
Personality: Azar is a jaded man with a mystical aura about him. Due to his powers he cultivates mystery to keep those who would take advantage of him in line. He's humble--for a member of a wealthy merchant family; he's also out of his element. The last thing he wanted to do was leave his home in Solku, but his sense of family loyalty meant he could not protest against the higher ranked family members. As a result, he seems rather grumpy about his situation. He does not care much for religion or fighting when there is nothing concrete to be gained. As his connection to his bloodline grows, he finds he has become more capricious and short-tempered.
Azer is proud of his status as a master of the arcane arts and will sometimes refer to himself as Magi or Djinn-Blooded. This is despite the fact that he is beginning to suspect that he does not have djinn blood at all, but to the Keleshites this has become a ‘catch all’ phrase for those whose arcane powers come from their blood.
Azar still tries to contact his family back in Solku whenever he can. His uncle is ill and has stepped down; his father had disappeared a couple years back, though his mother and sister always demand to know what exactly he is doing. Azar disdains many travelling types for lacking family honor, but those who place importance on it earn his respect.

The Emerald Duke |

Hm... I had been thinking of creating a character for this the first time around (back when MayDay was GMing it and we were running together in another PBP) but it was full before I could even do much more than glance at the player's guide. As such, I have no real knowledge of the events that brought us here (beyond a blurb of intro) and none as to where you are going.
So, now that that is out of the way... a bit about me.
I have been playing pathfinder for about a year now, all on forums via PBP. I have three official PFS arcs under my belt and am currently in a Serpent's Skull, a RotRL, a Dragon's Demand, a Kingmaker and two homebrews (as well as in stasis mode for a second RotRL that tragically went dark due to GM IRL issues). I post about once or twice a day, time based on my schedule (currently I am on nights for PST so expecting a post from me between 0800 to 1700 would be bad, as I am likely asleep... I do start posting after that though). I'd like to think that when I do post that I make it worth the wait if there is one (I am not always a "night owl" so in a few months or so I will be back to a more sane timeframe for posts).
Typically for crafting of characters I start from the class as a core, looking at what interests me personally. For example, my kingmaker character is an ifrit dervish dancer because I found the archtype more appealing on a personal level than just the root bard class, despite the fact that it does not do what it does as well as some other "melee" classes according to some. The flavor just felt right to me, though, so I work with what I can in it to make the vision a reality.
I will be honest, 15 point buy is not my normal cup of tea... I always feel like I could do something more with just a few more points. Still, I guess that is the point: to make me chose what is most important to me, yes? Where was I... oh yes, class and backstory.
...
...
Well, if chosen I will come up with both. I typically start working on backstory once I pick a class/archtype/race combo (normally about the time I am picking skills is about the time I start envisioning the character of the person... he knows about this, he can craft that... why will he know this, where did he learn to craft that way... etc).
So. Going to throw out there that I am interested... but I will only really start working on this guy/gal if selected (or if you guys come down to a final <insert number> and I am on it I will do so too if asked) and then hopefully with the help of the existing party and GM.
