I agree with Bartan getting the belt. He needs some good loot too.
*************
Prepping the character sheet
Hit points: 1d10 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 12
BAB goes to +7
Weapon Training to +2
Skills +2-1+1+1=3
Perception +7
Survival +7 (at Pace's advice)
Intimidate +3 including favored class bonus.
Feat (still thinking, thoughts?)
Khayal Bin Haleen |
I need weapon finesse for piranha strike. Otherwise I would take it. Most of my feats past this point are already decided by the build, crit related feats. This is really my last unclaimed feat. Perhaps something to help when I have to switch to archery? Or something that gives a capability the group could use.
Bartan Harrowborn |
Too late on the variant multiclassing, you have to choose to do that before your 3rd level feat.
Teamwork feats are alright, but not as good for someone who isn't a Cavalier or Inquisitor.
I haven't even gotten a chance to start my level up yet, so I'll need a bit more time.

Unless you ask your benevolent GM if it's okay to rebuild?

I might have to bring out the GM hammer for that one...how are you going to deal with the alignment conflict? :)
Ah, divvying loot - my favorite player activity. Which leads to the second, crafting. Which my RL gaming table turned into Downtime (see Ultimate Campaign) last Saturday.
If everybody's ready, I'll start the narration to the 3rd book.
Hajar nar Jundi |
We need to decide on if Yazi will take the Ring of Chamleon Power I vote yes, since its awesome and will let her scout oh so well.
We can sell the Ring of Mind Shielding as it seems much less useful than I imagined.
We also need Bartan or the GM to confirm what the two unidentified items are, I think they are a +1 Chain Shirt and Slippers of Spider Climbing
Honestly the Slippers might come in VERY useful and I can see Bartan running up walls to be out of reach as he rains down spellcards on his enemies.
If we take my advice and Bartan keeps the slippers and Yazi the ring, as well as Yazi keeping the Axe, Paige the headband, Khayal the Scimitar and Chainmail we STILL end up selling 10000GP worth of loot, which is probably enough for a belt right?

The "Annoy Hajar" Alignmnet will be in 100% synchronization so no conflict whatsoever :3
Bartan Harrowborn |
You have a good point about the slippers. And yes, they were spider climbing. So basically if we're keeping them, I would do research until I knew what they are, then put them on, then climb ALL THE THINGS.
GM_Pace |
They were Slippers of Spider Climbing. If that fight had gone differently I was going to have Zayifid attack on the stone pillar/stairway above the green pool of death. He would have been fighting sideways at people's legs.
Belt of Mighty Constitution Price 4,000 gp (+2), 16,000 gp (+4)
Such an item is way out of your little town's price range. You won't be able to get it until you go to Katapesh.
Bartan Harrowborn |
Ah, fair enough. We'll get it as soon as we get there, then.
Pace, sending you a PM about use of downtime.
Hajar nar Jundi |
Ok. Loot is finished and we this is how it went down
Bartan gains Slippers of Spider Climbing!
Yazi gains +2 Greataxe of Lifestealing and Ring of Chameleon Power
Khayal gains +1 Fire Outsider Bane Scimitar and +2 Mithril Chainmail
Paige gains +4 Wisdom Headband
Hajar gains Amulet of Natural Armor +1
Remaining loot after we have sold is 10220
If we buy Bartan a +1Con belt thats -4000 so 6220GP remaining.
Bartan Harrowborn |
In Pathfinder there are no such things as +1 Con belts, we've gotta go with the +2 anyway since +1 would have no actual effect. :)
Hajar nar Jundi |
Yeah thats what I meant...

Actually you can get odd numbered bonuses, they just didn't bother including them to save on space.
Khayal Bin Haleen |
We want our arcane caster to be durable. Especially because you keep on getting screwed by hit die rolls. I vote we improve that belt whenever we can.

While we are figuring out what to do with the extra 6k, I think it would be beneficial for us to do a WBL audit.
I did mine in the spreadsheet but currently Hajar has
54 GP
Icy Falchion+1 8375
Paladin's Kit(this kit includes a backpack, a bedroll, a belt pouch, a cheap holy text, a flint and steel, an iron pot, a mess kit, rope, soap, torches (10), trail rations (5 days), a waterskin, and a wooden holy symbol.) 11
Fullplate+1 2650
Ring of Sustenance 2500
Cloak of Resistance +1 1000
Ring of Fire Resistance (10) 12000
Amulet of Natural Armor +1 2000
For a grand total of 28590GP in Wealth....thats WAY over 6th level wealth and even a little over 7th level wealth
So in summary, lets give the 6K to whomever needs it most by way of WBL.

Bartan has...
1691 gp 1691
Pearl of power, lv 1 1000
2x harrow decks 200
traveler's any-tool 250
wand, divine favor 750
wand, identify 750
various scrolls 600
+1 chain shirt 1250
Knucklebone of fickle fortune PRICELESS
Various sundry items, 50gp (ish)
For a total of 6,561 gp in wealth. Plus the 4K for the Con belt we're buying, and not counting any gold we get from selling current items.
So yeah, Bartan is pretty behind, gold-wise.
Hajar nar Jundi |
The Knucklebone is really priceless? Or is it just priceless to you?
The adjusted totals for selling errything is 9595-4000= 5595GP
Go ahead and add the Con belt Bartan.
Bartan Harrowborn |
Actually priceless. It's an artifact.
And yeah, I just noticed that I was still using plain leather armor, so I took that one.
Hajar nar Jundi |
You have a Wand of Open/Close, at least the spreadsheet shows that an intricate bronze scarab that functions as a wand of open/close with 14 charges was claimed by Bartan

I sit at over 41,750 gold pieces.
+1 silversheen Kukri@ 2750
+1 Kukri @ 2000
+2 dex belt @ 4000
Blades belt @2000
+1 fire outsider bane cold scimitar @ 18000
+3 mithril chain shirt @ 13000
I find myself way above WBL
I did not count any minor gear in that equation.
The scimitar makes up a large portion of my wealth.
I am not as effective with a scimitar as I am with a Kukri. Between feats and class abilities I will be sitting at a +3 to hit +4 to damage when using a Kukri vice something else at next level.
I propose selling/trading the scimitar for a lesser upgrade to one of my kukris, perhaps turning one into a +1 fire outsider bane weapon (+2 bonus) and using the extra gold from its sale/trade to give to someone else.
Selling things is generally not the best deal but if we do this (I assume we could in Katapesh) I would lose the 1d6 from the cold enchantment but gain a static +3/+4 in its stead. I would also be able to use improved crit with it at level 8. We would also pocket at least 3000 gold from the exchange that could go to getting Bartan a better belt
Khayal Bin Haleen |
I would sell off some of the kukris but they were gifts ;) and could not do that for sentimental reasons. That's why I would prefer enchanting the ones I have.
Khayal Bin Haleen |
Plus a +1 silversheen fire outsider bane Kukri is way cooler than a +1 fire outsider bane Kukri.
And Yazi can take credit for part of my kills because "she bought the weapon"
Hajar nar Jundi |
I typically hate to sell loot especially in AP's because they are notoriously low on wealth. However, Khayal makes some salient points and I find myself agreeing with him.
We sell the Scimitar, this nets the total sale of goods in Katapesh to 25847. We then buy Bartan his "please don't die on us" Belt for 16k. This leaves us 9847 to spend on whomever has the next lowest WBL. (Paige I'm looking at you)
Paige Nightsong |
Guys I can't keep up. 67 new posts since I checked last! Got a busy schedule just now. I am sorry. I wonder if Paige should stay in her cave for the next adventure. I am afraid if I start I will how to bow out in poor fashion.
Hajar nar Jundi |
That's terrible news Mayday....seems you get slammed every year around this time.
Maybe Paige sits back for now and can rejoin us later on? It usually slacks off for you near to the holidays. Or so I am inferring from our 2 year acquaintance here on the boards.
Khayal Bin Haleen |
Paige, most of the last few posts were just banter and not of much real substance. If you can keep to a post a day for combat and a simple check a day for banter in between then I hope you stay. But only you know your schedule best.

Yes I am sorry. Last year my company commissioned me to write a book. Which turned out stupid but I got it done. And this year I'm deeply involved in implementing Electronic Data crap between us and core suppliers. Seriously, I'm not sure I can carry on. The coming few weeks will tell. My DnD life is so up and down. I always have the best of intentions when I start a game but then real life hits and pressure builds. But I know it's like that for everyone, not just me! I must just be a serious pansy, haha!

RE: Adding a new player
Perhaps not advertising and just recruiting a player who we know might be a better idea. I know quite a few guys/gals here on the boards that are very consistent PbPers.

Did we want to invite someone? We have an awesome intro for an arcane caster, IE someone who we go to for info on this scroll. Maybe a Nex specialist?
Whomever it is, I just want them to be as dysfunctional and sadly unoptimized as we are. Then they would fit right in...
Bartan Harrowborn |
Totally up to Pace. I have someone in mind for sure, if we want to do that. He's a RL friend and a consistent poster in PbPs we're both in.
