Bahram the rogue |

Of the rogue who is getting very good at crashing and burning? No. She sees you as competition. Minor competition.
Competition? who am I or you competing against or for?
I am crashing and burning only with the other players since you cannot use diplomacy on other PC's and I get the feeling that now matter what Bahram says or does it will be a crash and burn...

Everyone!
And don't worry, we'll help you be better at the flirting game as this adventure goes on so you won't always be alone :3

Yeah man! Don't let your confidence sag, it's unbecoming! I think the character concept will work if it's done with style and isn't overdone. Surely he has additional talents...

Bahram the rogue |

considering Yazi is probably the only one that has watched him flirt and had any any kind of response (positive or negative) (the rest of the party doesn't really care)
makes me kind of wonder still... (after all you were the only one that listened in on his whispered conversation)
and after enough rejections he will move on, just don't get jealous after the fact...

Thank you all for being such high speed posters today, I really had a great day sneaking away to post every few hours. Pure RPGing isn't seen to often on these boards!
Still I can't wait to introduce you to my little evil pugwampis. Has anyone peaked at the ENCOUNTER MAP lately? lol!

Bahram the rogue |

on a personal note...I've been married for 25 years, I don't think I even know how to "flirt" anymore.

Ah! That explains it, you're just rusty.

What? Really? Aww, that makes me sad. That's what makes it even more fun! Otherwise you're just rolling and seeing what happens.

Holy moly. I thought this was supposed to be a slow day. I wake up and there are over a dozen new posts in both threads. :)
@Yazi. Shaving an Afghan will give hilarious results. They are all head and paws. Once you get that fur out of the way their bodies are as lean as that of a saluki.
Why I remember giving a bath to ours was always interesting. First of all he hated it. With passion. And made it known by making sounds not from this earth. I swear people likely thought we were killing the dog and everyone in the neighbourhood would hear that racket! The end result was hilarious too because the head and paws were such a mismatch with the rest of the body. Until he was dried and fluffed out that is.
Afghans are damn smart and manipulative too. Not in a sense that you can teach them tricks easily - because you can't, they will give you a look like you are some kind of idiot if you try. Our Afghan was both the smartest and the gentlest of our dogs by far but also the most impossible when he felt like it. When they deign to do something it's because they want to. Not because you force them to.
Irish Wolfhounds are awesome as well - and huge, and usually gentle for the most part. Sadly Irish wolfhounds are one of the breeds approaching a genetic bottleneck because of the popular sire syndrome. I'm not a huge fan of overtly selective breeding myself.
...and erm getting sidetracked here but I like sighthounds a lot having lived in a family with four of them. I like cats too and would probably get a cat if I was not allergic to them. :)

Yazi wrote:I was under the impression that everyone was in a pavilion style tent.I'm not. I mean Dhavyn is not! He is sleeping in a bedroll by the fire.
I think that's what's confusing me, there's the tent with Almah and her servants and the food and then there's the campfire.

Dhavyn Barr |

Just have to comment on this since I stupidly wrote myself into corner with the sleep scheme.
Bartan is a smooth ladies man whether he knows it or not. If you followed the combat he handled himself skillfully and confidently proving he is no loser despite of his shyness, and more importantly he did not brag about his feats which is off putting to many.
He also shows he cares about other people's feelings, and respects others without feeling like a sycophant. Not a pushover but not a dick either. A charming mix of shyness and forwardness.
Judging from what I've gathered from Anjali's character so far she is going to like that! Well played man. Well played! :)

Dhavyn Barr |

I think the current status is as follows:
Dhavyn: asleep by the fire
Avenka: asleep by the fire (time to steal her gear!)
Anjali and Bartan: smooching... I mean discussing near the fire
Hajar: smooching... ack... I mean discussing with Dashki
Khayal: napping by the fire until it's his watch (who is Alan btw?)
Bahram: trying to woo the servant girls (unsuccessfully I might add)
Yazi: in the tent with Bahram or with us by the fire?

not entirely true by the way...but whatever.
anyway going to see Godzilla today... if anyone wants a report after I'll provide it.

Anjali Nejem |

You really want to steal gear from Avenka? Might lose more than a finger in the process. LOL
I still wasn't sure where Yazi was so I just went ahead and decided that she was probably talking while Anjali was still walking over to the fire anyway and thus didn't hear her.
Dhavyn's little summaries are quite amusing.

Mental image... the horror... *whimper*
Eh. Her gear would be of no use for me anyway. Would be rather hard to hide a chainmail and a flail, and I bet she is the type who sleeps one eye open and with her weapons under the pillow.
Yeah. I think I'll pass. I'd rather not lose my fingers or any other extremities.

Bahram the rogue |

I didn't get one, and yes I am one of the cool kids...

Heading off to sleep. I've a job interview in the morning so wish me luck y'all. Well actually it's more like renewing contract since it is my old job. I was "laid off" a month ago when my latest contract ended and they chose not to continue it. Seems they have changed their mind.

Bahram the rogue |

just curious, does it matter I include Bahram's body language via sense motive spoiler.
I don't really think anyone rolls them so I can assume that it does not matter.
also
do people even read this stuff?

I DO! :)

Good luck Dhavyn, even if you want to steal my stuff :) BTW, my weapon is not under my pillow, it IS my pillow :)
How barbaric! That is a VERY uncomfortable pillow! :D

I am sorry I haven't posted yet. Family dinner. And now, I must get all these pugwampi I call kids in bed, then I will spend some time and post. What happens next must be done very carefully: its a prickly encounter, haha.

Bahram the rogue |

don't be a prick with the encounter...
we just may stick it to you by the end of the encounter.
anyway just a gentle poke to get posting...
I am running out of stupid puns....

Bahram the rogue |

hey i finally did something right and that bad luck aura goes and screws that up making me look like an ass all over again.
so we are even...

Dhavyn Barr |

Stupid courtesy interviews. I spent two hours listening why they (almost certainly) won't be rehiring me. Even now they chose to delay it by a day and give the final update tomorrow. I'm not sure what the hell is going within the company. I hate corporate politics.

Anjali Nejem |

I normally don't play too many casters. Dhavyn's d20 roll when casting ray of fire confused me. I didn't think you needed to do an attack roll for spells. Or was this a concentration check? My understanding is that concentration checks are only there if spellcasting is interrupted.
Thanks for whoever is willing to step up and clarify this for me!

Bahram the rogue |

the spell is probably a ranged touch attack roll.

![]() |

Yes, most attacks spells have either an attack roll or an area effect (magic missile is the exception), or it could be a spell that just required a saving throw(s).
