I think Bartan and Anjali are going to end up being close because they both seem kind of shy and full of insecurities about their own abilities. LOL
Dhavyn Barr
So as a brief analysis of other members from Dhavyn's point of view. For fun'n'games:
Anjali: Smart but not intrusive. More importantly a skilled healer. Stay on her good side!
Avenka: Not talkative but what can you expect from a savage like her. Perhaps in need of guidance by someone older and more experienced. Likely to fall among the other meat-heads. Best ignored unless a reason is given.
Bahram: Brains-in-the-pants type who gets way too easily distracted by women. Not completely useless but likely not worth the effort. Still no point to rile up the man unless he gives a reason.
Bartan: A skilled magus and not a mere charlatan like I thought. Seems to have a way with words without really trying. Smart and competent ally. Dangerous foe.
Hajar and Khayal: Meat-heads of the group. Likely to bond over the wagon incident. Hajar is suspiciously quiet. Has secrets? Khayal is more personable. More easy to read. Something to be concerned about?
Yazi: "!%#"&& b#@~!. She does that to annoy me. I swear she does! She will regret it. Yes she will...
Hadassa
One additional house rule thing for interacting with ME. If I forget to resolve something your character does it's never on purpose, so just *nudge* me in game and i'll look back and see what I missed. When post rate slows down after this initial phase it will happen less.
Avenka, thanks. You can see if you have a new PM by that little red dot on the envelope at the top of the page. See it? That's a PM from yours truly.

Yazi: "!%#"&& b**$&. She does that to annoy me. I swear she does! She will regret it. Yes she will...It's funny you hate her 'cause I think I'm in love with here, lol!

Speaking of languages:
I use Yiddish for my spells. They are not meant to represent any exact fantasy language. More like Dhavyn's own magical shortcuts as verbal components. If you do a google translate on them you are likely to get something close to the spell he is casting. I guess spellcraft would tell it as well.
Hajar picked Slovenian for Gnollish and I think Anjali used Arabic for Kelish.
Do we wish to pick something for Ignan? We have a lot of Ignan speakers in the group and seeing that Anjali often has oracular lapses in language it might be good for the rp. :)
Anjali Nejem
Yes, I use Arabic for Kelish.
Ignan is something I've had a hard time finding a language that fits into what my imagination thinks Ignan would sound like. That's why I ended up describing the flame-like sounds whenever she speaks.
We have a lot of Ignan speakers? Other than Dhavyn and Anjali?
Oh, good to know what the Yiddish stands for. I had been wondering if that was your version of Ignan, Dhavyn. :)

I just listened to this podcast and if I were to make another barbarian, I think I would change a few things, but hey, rookie mistakes... I really like this podcast, they now are 100% pathfinder, but started 3.5.

@Avenka: Huh how come? Your character sheet looks fine. If it makes sense for you to pick those abilities and feats I say go for it rather than optimizing. There's always the danger that if one is optimized and others are not they end up hogging the scene.
For example I picked the stats and spells for Dhavyn that made most sense considering his character. I mean. C'mon. I made a *fire* sorcerer in a game which leads to the plane of fire. The place where most critters are *immune* to fire.
Granted I'm going to get around that with a feat but it's going to slow down my casting and consume a higher level slot. A smart person aimed for optimization would have made Marid or Shaitan inspired sorcerer without breaking the theme - or simply a sorcerer that casts ice/acid/lightning spells regardless of their theme. I'm not that smart! :)
I could have optimized the ability scores better too (i.e. that +1 in str is hardly optimized) but I don't really like dropping scores to 8. I find it hard to roleplay someone who has ability scores *below* what is the standard human norm. In my case they would have been str and int. It becomes such a temptation to play your character stronger or smarter than they actually are or then do the complete reverse and play them as borderline crippled or a complete idiot!
You might not have feats (i.e. power attack) and skills (swim, ride) that are optimized to our current sistuation but you can still easily build for example a cleaving-mobility barbarian in a few levels - and that's without dipping into anything outside the core rules. I'd probably focus stat increases to dex and let the rage and magic items handle the strength boosts. You probably want at least 14 dex if you aim to be a mobility barbarian.

Ahhh! You are giving me Diablo2 flashbacks! But yes, it will be very fun to kill Dhavyn just as soon as we get to the fire plan, mwahaha! Just kidding.

@Hadassa: Phew... I mean... I only live to serve your will, most gracious and merciful of the DMs. *insert more sycophantic groveling here*
@Yazi: Aww you know Dhavyn secretly likes Yazi... err not really but you can pretend he does! Actually I'm not sure how I should interpret that smiley... See! You are doing that again! *insert a paranoid rant here* ;)
Edit: Forgot to add. Heading off to sleep again. See you in ~8 hours or so - and if certain *someone* wakes me up tomorrow morning again like they did this morning (at noon) they are going to get more than a few unintelligible grunts thrown at their way" *shakes fist*
Avenka Thalma
@Dhavyn: You're right that it's not always best to optimize, but I don't know if I made a good call having a Con as good as my Strength, maybe I should have boosted my strenght to 18 instead, and also, I don't know if I made a good choice with my medium armor, because of the penalty checks. And I wasn't sure about my Dex, thinking that I should have lowered that, but you have certainly a good point with a mobility barbarian, I'll check that for sure.
By the way, great idea to post Dhavyn's thoughts of the party, fun to read :)

That's the cool things about barbarians, with Rage you don't have to worry about physical stats that much, and we can always find more armor.

at the top I put a link to some flavor images of some of the people you've met while you guys figure out what you are doing next. I think you will meet Rombard soon. Dashki looks a bit tougher than i portrayed him. Guess he was having a bad and you guys really scared him. Bahram do you think Almah's pretty? lol!

I was aiming for goofy but from options A, B and C I'll pick ABC - and also D! I did sleep well this night/morning without anyone waking me up mid sleep so huzzah for not having to murder anyone.
...aaand whaaaat! No new posts overnight. Get posting you lazy gits *cracks whip*
(and I say that with... err... utmost love and respect. :-) )

Family day today
Off to the art museum will be off line most of the day

She meet all of his criteria
1. Female
2. Not undead
3. Humanoid ( in appearance)
4. Doesn't want to kill him (yet)

I will also be fairly indisposed today and tomorrow. I'll try to get some posts in but we have a few family activities planned.
Dhavyn Barr
Ah yes. It's sunday. I keep forgetting it's the family day for those who have one and the hangover day for those who don't. Not that I've a hangover or anything.
The weather turned crappy too as I predicted - or rather as the forecast predicted.
Hadassa
Yes, the game must respect family time this weekend. Dhayvn, in the States Monday is also a holiday: Memorial Day. I will post for anyone who wants to explore camp and interact with NPCs this weekend. But following tracks encounter will start...Monday night? Sound good?
Uhoh, Bahram, I agree with Yazi...i don't meet your criteria #1 or #3, I am soooo sorry!
Anjali Nejem
Hi everyone! My last post was fluffy and long since Bartan did a harrowing. But yes, I have plans this weekend as well. Can't escape having plans for Memorial weekend! :)
Also, I have a weekend long workshop next weekend. It's long and intensive - about ten to twelve hours each day. On those days I will be trying to catch up at night. My posting will be pretty slim those days too.
The game's been great fun so far, so I shall be peeking in whenever I can.
Avenka Thalma
Today, I have a holiday ! My girlfriend is in Montreal with her parents and sister, so I'm alone, yeah :)
My plans for tonight : the character creation for 3 of my friends that will play for the first time pathfinder, I'm really curious to see how it will go. And in 2 weeks, the first time I'll GM pathfinder with rise of the runelords. I hope it will go smooth...

Storm cut the connection for hours. I hate when that happens.
If Doc is an Afghan he is going to be a handful. Speaking from experience as we used to have an Afghan. I'm surprised he deigned to allow Yazi to ride with him on the camel!
Afghans are not built for deserts by the way. They are a large breed of cold-weather dogs originally from cold Afghanistan mountains (thus the long fur). He is going to roast in the deserts. For example ours always fled the summer heat to sauna because it was the coolest place in the house when not heated.
If you want a caravan and desert dog pick a Saluki! They are made for desert life and used to accompany caravans on the silk road.
Yazi

I mostly picked the Afghan hound after just putting "Middle Eastern Dog" into Google. That and Yazi comes from a Mountain region so it kinda made sense but yeah a Saluki would probably be a better fit... Or I could just shave Doc :3
And of course there's always the Dwarven Wolfhound.

finally home...what a day.
stopped and got pictures of the state's governor mansion
attempted to get in a sculpture museum but arrived too late and they were full (max occupancy, can you believe that?)
ended up seeing X-men instead. after a rather pricey dinner at the shopping mall.
gonna see what I missed hopefully you guys didn't kill all Bahram's chances with the ladies (considering all the PC's are probably off limits)

More like Zero chance atm and currently just digging himself deeper.
Bahram the rogue
I already figured PC's would have been off limits after the first botched attempt. so since there is no possible interest from the ladies of the party he wouldn't bother trying.
He looks for the possibilities first, if it looks impossible why bother...
the ladies of the party show zero interest thus he will make zero attempt
of course if things were to change in their attitude then....

Huh, missed that part about Menstruation, interesting. But yeah Paizo did a write up for the Ancient Osirion Pantheon in Mummy's Mask 2 and she's in it.
When the sun god Ra grew old,
his human subjects rebelled against him,
so he sent his daughter Sekhmet to punish them.
Going further than was planned, Sekhmet took on the
task with such fury that Ra feared she would exterminate the human race. In order to save humanity and end the destruction, Ra filled
jugs with a mixture of beer and pomegranate
juice and scattered them across the battlefield.
Thinking the red liquid was human blood,
Sekhmet greedily consumed every drop she
could find, quickly becoming so drunk that
she was unable to continue the slaughter.
Although primarily a goddess of war and vengeance, Sekhmet has another side as a goddess of healing who wards off plagues and pestilence.
She heals warriors of their wounds and is especially revered for curing fractures. As the daughter of Ra, Sekhmet is also a goddess of fire.
She is the sister of Bastet, Hathor, and Maat, and the wife of Ptah. Sekhmet appears as a woman with the head of a lioness, wearing a long dress soaked red with blood and rosettes over each breast. Occasionally she is depicted with the solar disk of her father Ra stop her head.
Barbarians worship Sekhmet for her destructive
rages, and fighters and magi worship her as their patron in battle. Sekhmet’s priests are both male and female, and are skilled warriors as well as healers

yeah don't tell me that, I've got enough harpies (and probably a succubus) in the party to worry about.
truth be told though....if any of this is gonna detract from the adventure, I'll just revert to the old trap spotter rogue and play him "by the mechanics."
Bahram the rogue
i don't mean literally.
Bahram the rogue
Ok I have been thinking....is Yazi ....oh, I don't know....jealous?
