Sunny's actions:
Still being in the water, when Sunny hears yet another body splash into the waves she sighs and dives back in to rescue who ever was silly enough to fall over board this time.

Her 'natural' swimming abilities should be more than enough to get fluff face's head above water.

Assuming the bird lass in't dead, Sunny will do her best to at least get her to some where above the water level.

She's a good swimmer and should be able to catch up to the ship.

With a small amount of time, Sunny might even suggest to feather brain that, perhaps, she should look into a different line of work?

Should the Siren attempt to 'sing' at Sunny? Well... at first not keeping her afloat should work wonders at shutting her trap. After that Sunny can just splash water in the bint's face. :P

So, maybe some trinkets for getting the Siren back to her rock/nest but other wise.... *Shrug*

Close to the wheel and feeling chagrined for her role in helping the Siren do as much damage as she did, Nhati rushes towards Ol' Salty and tries to give him the help he needs in sailing the ship....

With Nhati's eyes and Ol' Salty's sailing skills (aged like a fine Chelish wine!), the Magpie Princess hauls hard to the right, swerving around another limestone pillar and back in the direction of open sea. Though a few smaller rocks jut from the ocean like a stone reef, the narrow straits through the towering hundred-foot pillars is safely behind you.

The sailors you've incapacitated slowly start to come to their senses, their memories of what transpired a strange haze of confusion and uncertainty. Belina rushes over to take the wheel from Ol' Salty while Yamtisy starts barking orders...

And Captain Lanteri kicks through the door of her cabin with Vancin in tow behind her. The pair of them have heavy linens wrapped around their heads like oversized doorags. They move strangely under the extra weight, using one hand to keep the contraptions balanced on their head. "Blasted birds! This is my ship and I'll not have anyone singing my crew to the locker..." Lanteri stops shouting as soon as she realizes that the disoriented crew is simply confused, not enthralled. She turns around, glancing up towards the wheel as she pulls the wrap off her head.

"What the hell happened? Where'd the beast go?"

Suny:

A quick examination of the siren reveals she isn't dead, just quite badly wounded. Blood seeps from her wounds into the surrounding waters. While she appears light enough to float without aid (those bird bones, obviously), she's equally likely to die from blood loss as she is from chumming the waters.

With a bit of work, you manage to pull her onto one of the shallow areas at the base of the pillars. It's still a bit soggy here, but at least you won't have to worry about a shark swimming up beneath her. She still seemed pretty unconscious, though.

F Exotic Elf TBA

Suny's actions:
Suny frowns as she examines the wet, bedraggled critter's wounds. Not being a healer the best she can think of is simply bandaging the feather'd lass wounds. Though that won't help her survive for long.

Still, doing her best (Handle animal skill at +7? The critter is almost like a parakeet, right :P) Suny tries to staunch the worst of the bleeding and other obvious stuff, with a quiet thanks to the goddesses that nothing on the fluff head is actually broken, just scratched up a lot before scampering off up into the rock pillar and seeing if the Siren might have anything stashed away that'll help her recovery.

Suny:

Your attempts to gain purchase on the sea-slick limestone pillar prove quite difficult, and right when you're pretty sure you're making progress you look down to find yourself merely three feet off the ground.

Fortunately, your keen elven eyes are pretty sure there's something up at the top of this thing. At the very least, there's a nest of some kind and something reflective stashed at the very edge of it.

It's a DC 15 Climb to get up the pillar (at 1/4 speed), but it's also a 100 foot(!) climb with a rather unfriendly penalty for failure.

For Dm:
Well... Suny can 'Take ten' and make a 16 on the climb. As for falling? Wouldn't she just have to 'Push away' so as to fall back into the ocean?

Any-who, she'll do what she can then grt back to the boat.

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 32

Suny:

You can indeed take 10 and suffer no ill consequences... until something comes and starts distracting you...

If you're willing to put in the time to climb it, you can make it to the top without any real issue. It's just going to take a bit of doing and the boat, currently, is still pulling away from you and back towards open waters. At full sail I'm not sure even Suny's natural swim speed would let her keep up with it.

After realizing his skills were no longer needed at the helm, Reijo relaxes from what was about to be a mad sprint to the old man. He instead watches the siren splash into the ocean with a dark, satisfied grin.

"Nice werk, Queenie an' Naughty," he gruffly speaks aloud. But his gaze remains transfixed on the spot where siren met sea.

Sheathing his cutlass, the angry pirate turns to answer Lanteri. "To the bottom o' Besmara's frigid oggin. An' good riddance." With a sickly smile, he nods in the direction the siren dropped.

Lanteri follows Reijo's gaze to the bulwark, then she steps to the rail to see the siren for herself. Both are a little surprised to see the siren not sinking to the depths, but laying in the shallows at the base of one of the limestone pillars you'd just navigated around.

A few seconds later they catch sight of motion on the increasingly distant towers. After a moment's observation, they realize that it is the dripping wet Suny scampering up the side of the rock as quickly as she can...

Shaking her head, Captain Lanteri takes a step back and sets an idle hand on her sword's guard. "I'd suspected the perky one was going to be trouble. What the hell is she doing?"

Suny:

After a good minute or two of clinging to the rock for dear life, you manage to make it to the top and peek over the edge into the siren's nest. Made mostly of driftwood and other collected junk, and filled with stinky fishbones and other remains, it isn't hard to pick out the pieces of interest--including the shiny bit you'd seen from below: a fine, crystalline jar in perfect condition, a jeweled ivory comb, an ornate piece of scrimshaw shaped like a sea hawk, and a few other piece of less structurally interesting but still just as shiny jewelry.

Suny:

Unfortunately, it seems that while the siren was quite adept at secreting away shiny baubles, she hadn't the foresight to keep any potions or elixirs of healing on hand.

You are pretty sure that the jewelry and things are all quite valuable, though. Even at a cursory glance, you'd guess this is at least 1,000 gp of shiny. Sadly, there's nothing more to be found buried in the next except for some very, very old fish bones. Those are significantly less shiny.

His eyes then return and linger a very short moment longer on Suny's wet body glistening in the sunlight before he heads to a rowboat. The salty sailor proceeds to lower himself and whoever wants to come along down to the sea. Once in the water, he begins to row towards Suny and the siren.

The Captain chuckles weakly, then pulls the mop of a hat from her head and throws it at the artillerist behind her. This may be the first (and last) time you see Captain Lanteri without one of her many hats on. Her long, dark hair caught the wind as the ship hauled about to lower the dinghy and fetch up the elf. "Was Creed's idea," she remarked. "Knew I kept that bastard around for more than his good looks and uncanny love for his babies up there." She nodded in the direction of the forecastle, where several sailors still milled about in a vague haze.

The dark-skinned Garundi pulls off his own hat as he catches the Captain's. The afternoon sun gleams from his polished scalp. Though he smiles silently, it looks more like a dog baring its teeth than a good-natured grin. "Aye, Cap'n. I do what I can."

Lanteri stands by as Reijo (and whoever else wishes to go) piles into the launch. "Kill the bird or don't, it's no mind to me. This Magpie's bitten her once, and it'll do it again if she dares to cross me twice. But do fetch our lovely elf back, I think we've all started to miss the show already." A bit of laughter resounds across the deck as the crew slowly comes back to their senses. Only the grim-faced Yamtisy, ashamed of her actions in that whole ordeal, keeps a tight-lipped scowl.

@Suny - As long as you manage to jump at least 10 feet out and away from the base of the pillar, the water should be deep enough to break your fall. I'm pretty sure you'd arc out about that far even if you fell anyway... but it would probably hurt a bit more without an intentional dive.

With a bit of a flourish, and a whole lot of yelling, Suny leaps from the top of the pillar and down into the sea below.

Reijo (and others?) witness this with front row seats as they close in on the pillar with the rowboat. The elf pops her head back out of the water, perfectly fine, a few dozen feet ahead of the boat.

Back on the Magpie Princess, Captain Lanteri shakes her head. "These are the people we've hired on for extra muscle." Yamtisy grunts some vague semblance of 'yes.' The Captain heaves a sigh, then heads back towards her cabin, waving Belina back to the helm. "Pluck the birdbrain, strut about naked... Beat up another bird, then go for a swim. Helluva day we've had." She throws open the door to the captain's quarters and lets the hatch slam behind her. The crew shuffles back to work, waiting for the retrieval of Suny in the launch.

"Nah, " he says. "We ain't be needin' ta tell the cap'n or any other mates 'bout that now, Saucy." A greedy grin comes over him as he continues to row the boat towards the spire. The quick-swimming Suny manages to not only meet up with Reijo in the rowboat, but then pass the boat and return to the Magpie Princess well before the greedy pirate. Drawn more to the glitter of gold than the nasty metallic taste of blood (And more feathers. Why always more feathers?), he turns the boat around and heads back to the ship.

Although Captain Lanteri has returned to her quarters, Horemheb stands as humorlessly as ever, glaring daggers at Suny as she returns to the deck. The sudden arrival of treasure lessens his ire only slightly. "Seems your merry little swim wasn't without reward."

With the loot split (somewhat) fairly between the ship and its newest members, the Magpie Princess sails on past the limestone pillars its resident siren and off towards the first stop.

About an hour or two later, the ship pulls into a small inlet on the northern side of Besmara's Throne. The small harbor of Baydac Falls was nestled at the far side of the cove, where a great waterfall ran off the mountainside and into the river beside the town. Few other sailing ships frequent this tiny town, and as soon as the gangplank is laid down Vancid leaps off with a pair of sailors on his tail. Captain Lanteri emerges from her cabin, shaking her head as she watches the artillerist rush off to get his shipment.

"That man has a love for only one damned thing. Thank the waves he's on my ship and not shooting at us." She glances over her shoulder to your group. "We'll be here for a bit. Feel free to hop off an' wander about for a bit. We'll get on to where the real treasure is in about an hour or two."

Small port stop... if anyone wants to hop off and buy/sell/trade/steal/whatever, you're welcome to do so. Alternatively, since you've got nothing to do on the ship you can make Diplomacy (or whatever else you think would work) to bro up with some of the named crew members on board the Magpie Princess.
