Viktorra's Origins:
Viktorra was the child of a pirate captain and an unknown male. While her father didn't have much role in her life, her captain mother surely did. Viktorra was raised on the deck of the Corsairs' Howl, and taught the ways of the sea. Before she was 15, she knew how to use a rapier to great effect, and by 18, she had killed many a man, plundered many a ship.
A few months after she turned 18, however, her mother's ship was caught up in a bad storm. The ship caught the attention of a large marine predator, which worked together with the weather to take down the ship. After Viktorra washed up on a nearby island by herself, and without her mother, she knew it was about time to head out on her own. On the island, Viktorra happened across a shrine to Besmara, where she heard the goddess speak to her. Besmara offered wealth, power, and success, all of which appealed greatly to Viktorra. After a grueling year on the island, managed to escape, and sail into Lilywhite's port. A completely different person, Viktorra no longer saw the need to mourn her mother, if she was in fact actually dead. The sea claims lives all the time; it's a part of life as a pirate. There, she joined on with a pirate friend of her mom's, and ventured out onto the seas. Within a year, the previous captain had been killed, and Viktorra had taken over as captain. She instituted the religion of Besmara on the ship and rechristened it The Sea Banshee, preaching that Besmara had saved her from the island, and had made her becoming captain a possibility. For an entire year, Viktorras' ship was a very profitable venture. She made a name for herself by preying on the many merchant ships that sailed the oceans near the coast. On one particularly fateful day, Viktorra's crew met up with a Chelish navy warship, somehow lost and separated from the rest of its fleet. Seizing the opportunity to attack these probably very tired soldiers, Viktorra found she was right. They were exhausted, and the ship was easy to loot. Full of weaponry and ammunition, this is where she found her beloved pistol dagger, a weapon she had only heard about, never seen. But, alas, this was not the greatest treasure to be found upon the warship; in one of the fine cabins, Viktorra found a quite attractive young Chelish noblewoman. He was stricken by her beauty immediately. She introduced herself as Saylan, a member of a noble family in Cheliax. Saylan, too, was entranced by Viktorra, and she ended up being added to the crew as an invaluable resource on the sailing patterns of more Chelish ships like the one she was on. Viktorra and Saylan grew incredibly close, and eventually full-blown lovers. Saylan attempted to educate Viktorra on the finer points of life , while learning of the sea and the art of piracy, for it is an art. Eventually, Saylan joined the raiding parties, abandoning her fancy gowns for the more practical clothing of the pirate lady. The two lived an ostentatious life on the fruits of their labor, but the fun was soon to end. A private merchant had put a bounty on Viktorra's head and ship, as her raids were costing him quite a large fortune. An infamous pirate such as Viktorra couldn't avoid attention long, and eventually the privateers caught up to her. Her ship was destroyed, most of her crew killed, but Viktorra herself managed to escape on a rowboat with some very basic supplies.
She has rowed her rowboat into dock again, and this time, it was not as easy to continue her life on the ocean. Viktorra is a displaced captain, a pirate looking for work, and for love. |
