Mercury??? Pshaw... That's a dry heat.
EDITED to ADD:
Daen's post is what I needed to clamber out of the darn bathtub. I've come forward!
Laliytsa Iansoh |
I won't lie; I've been spending my free time chasing Pokemon. Darn addictive game.
Anyways, I've decided to buy stuff because I like stuff, and I like using it in creative ways. All this totals to 996 gold. I haven't had a chance to bust out my fancy lockpicking skills yet but I figure I might as well pick up a better kit while I can. I'm selling the old one which gets me 15-ish gold so this drops to 981 g
Masterwork Armored Coat = 200g
2 bear traps = 2 gold
2 heatstones = 40 gold
1 camouflage netting(forest) = 20 gold
Barbed Arrows (20) = 2 gp
Incendiary Arrows (40) = 20 gp
10 tindertwigs = 10gp
Pronged Arrows (20) = 2gp
10 smoke arrows = 100gp
Tanglefoot arrows (4) = 80gp
1 traveler’s anytool = 250g
Thieve’s tools (masterwork) 100g
Thieve’s tools (extenders) 70g
2 potions Cure light wounds 100g

The Facebook says it's your birthday, Hmm. Happy birthday.
Cyanne Miller |
Yes, it's my 50th!
(Though I've been claiming the 50 for months, it's official today.)
Thank you, sweetie.
Hmm

Sorry for my silence, guys. I've had a con, the resulting Con Plague, and I'm up against a deadline job-search-wise. I'm also stressing over how best to rebuild Kaz, and with everything going on, it's been really hard to get in his head. I'll try to get my head back in the game soon.
PS: happy belated birthday, Hmm!
Cyanne Miller |
Some things to consider, Kaz.
You're Kaz. You're kind and gentle, but you've also had several important things happen:
1) You've died
2) You've met your god, and he asked you to step up and rule
3) You've been told by Cyanne you're a Paladin.
I think it could be fun to post some exploration posts where you decide to figure out just what you can do as a paladin. Heck, involve the team.
Ask Daen and Lali for martial advice. Ask Luthor and Cyanne for lore suggestions. Involve us, start figuring out your paladin superpowers and we can try to explore this new badass Kaz. Besides, a bird is supposed to show up anytime now, right? That could be a good character moment. We could do the whole training montage sequence that they show in the movies when heroes level up!
___
Luthor:
RE Writers Block... Do you want to flex the school trip with me to get yourself started? Or do you want to think about the present, and the fact that Cyanne has pointed out you have feelings for Kaz? Maybe you can come up with some spells or ideas to help us invade the Staglord.
___
Looking at all this I realize that Cyanne is a little instigator, isn't she?

So here's the situation.
I haven't been in a good place lately (again). My desktop computer has died due to a hard drive issue, and my one-year-old tablet has decided to stop working as well. This restricts me to posting on my phone, which is amazingly difficult due to a cracked screen and prohibitively slow loading times. I'm up against a deadline for job searching, I can barely afford to pay my bills, and the constant stress is leaving me pretty drained.
Right now, I'm at a friend's house posting this. I'll be around, and trying to post occasionally from my phone, but until Microsoft get me my replacement device, I'll be spotty at best.
GM Aest |
Hello, everyone.
I'm aware of where Kaz is, but I feel like this game has stalled out really hard. If everyone could check in here so I at least know you're alive, that'd be wonderful.
Cyanne Miller |
I'm around. I'll admit that with Kaz out of commission and Lali and Luthor mostly blocked, I haven't wanted to push gameplay forward. If we had an enddate for Kaz's computer woes, I would suggest an official hiatus.
Here are my thoughts.
If we're actually moving, I think it would be better if we were moving towards the Staglord. People would be more likely to become involved if it means accomplishing a story goal with lots of combat. For that, we need Kaz.
Aest, do you have any timeline on when Kaz is expecting her replacement device?
Hmm
GM Aest |
She thinks it'll arrive either tomorrow or the next day. I agree that a small hiatus would be good until we're all together and more or less ready to go. In the meantime, some people would like to explore and others would like to go straight for it. Thoughts?
Cyanne Miller |
Here's why I want straight for it. I want us to progress. I want us to level and get in our groove again as a group. I think we're more likely to come together if the story draws us forward big time and we all have something big to work towards.
Daen Aheritor |
So are we waiting for Kaz? Or does someone want to deal with Daen's query? It would be fairly easy, he will back down if you come up with a reason, such as:
1. Let's train!
2. Let's get married!
3. Let's drink all of the Stag Lord's booze tonight and sleep it off tomorrow, then go!
4. Let's clean up the mess the fey left!
Or anything of the sort, really.
Cyanne Miller |
Are you ready to get married? I'm assuming you finally told Cy that you loved her. But I have NO IDEA what you said.
Daen Aheritor |
Well, Give me until tomorrow, and I'll get you something much more solid. I was kind of waiting on approval from Luthor on the (Hopefully?) Masterwork Rapier I'd made for you, and I was hoping to have Daen ask permission of her brother on the sly when they visited the bakery. I've been a bit too sneaky when I added to that document a while ago, I figured you probably saw it by now, but maybe you hadn't.
This is likely my fault. Sorry for the lack of communication.
Cyanne Miller |
Oh? There's stuff in the document? Wait, let me go read!
Cyanne Miller |
Goblins? Ack!
(Daen would squish both Medge and Twitchy!)
Are you guys back? Back, back? Because I could use some backup in introducing Daen to my brother Mikhal.

My replacement device has arrived, and I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. Hopefully I can start posting in my games tonight or tomorrow!
Daen Aheritor |
Awh dang Daen, even more ive let slide.
It's okay man. As long as you're okay with casting the spell, you've got a scroll of Masterwork Transformation you could possibly teach your familiar. It's up to you if you want to do that or not.
Glad to see you back Kaz!
Daen Aheritor |
Okay, Cyanne and I are nearly done with our little side project, but instead of doing a quick wedding, let's just push the narrative to the siege of the Staglord, and then do a proper wedding after the job is done. I'll get a post up soon, but I would like to see other people jumping in on what's happening too, as they have ability.
GM Aest |
Sure!
Kaz's computer troubles continue, and we're hoping they'll be resolved Monday. I'm sure his player won't mind if we move forward a little in the meantime.
GM Aest |
Okay, I'll be easing back into things. Thanks for your patience.
Kazimir Vasilovich |
I think I owe everyone an explanation, and an apology.
In my circle of gamer friends, I'm known as the one with terrible luck. When I play at a PFS table, my dice conspire against me, seldom rolling above a 9. When someone gets sick, I always pick it up. If technological eff-ups happen, they're always to me. I'm the bad luck magnet that soaks the bad stuff so everyone else can be awesome and have a good time.
So it dismayed, but didn't surprise me when, shortly after getting my replacement tablet, my charger stopped working, and I had to wait for a replacement to arrive (and it was only through goodwill that I was able to get one).
Then I came down with sinusitis.
Then I had to start involuntary volunteer work to keep my welfare payments (remember, I'm unemployed [not for lack of trying], and the Australian job market is tanking).
Then I developed laryngitis.
It sounds ridiculous, but it's all true - and my friends would back me up and say it wouldn't happen to anyone but me!
The sinusitis has passed, and the laryngitis is on its way out (finally!). I'm hoping to return to my (ir)regularly-scheduled posting soon. I'm sorry for my radio silence, and I wish I could promise more regular posts, but... the simple fact is, I don't know *how* life's going to kick me next.

Good things will come to you, Kaz. Every streak of bad luck has to end sometime, so it might as well end now.
Sending joy your way,
Hmm
PS I've missed you all so much! And now that you're back, Kaz, look... I posted too!

I've a friend at my gaming table that rolls particularly bad too, usually when he needs to not roll a 1 or 2, he does just that. As a result, he prefers role-play and making interesting characters, and he does just that.
A person might have a strength, or a weakness, but it doesn't make them less valuable as a person. In fact, they may have other things to compensate. But even if they don't, what is done to you by circumstance or crime doesn't make you more or less of a person than what you are.
I guess what I'm trying to say is: We all deal with bad times. We don't blame you for them. Glad you're back.

When Aest said they rumbled into the camp, I assumed they were stampeding..... Did I read it wrong?
Either way, Daen's "Shoo!" is hilarious!
GM Aest |
They're definitely supposed to be stampeding.
Cyanne Miller |
I am! Just waiting for the GM to take his attack of opportunity against me.
I will admit that I am currently in the final phase of GMing Murder's Mark of Crows, and that I started GMing the 07-00 special, Sky Key Solution, which is timed. This means I'm not pushing and poking my other games with songs and silliness like I usually do, because my bandwidth is limited.
Still, I'd love to see this game progress if everyone else is still here. I love you guys.
Hmm
GM Aest |
I am sorry. I started a new job that's left me very exhausted. I'm starting to get into it, but appreciate your patience. I need to evaluate how many games I'm in/running, since this is a lower priority than work/hunting for something better/grad school apps. I will almost certainly not be dropping this, but ask for your continued patience.
