Chief Defender Halgra of the Blackened Blades - She has held this position since 4693 AR. She is a Trunau native who left the town when she was young to become an adventurer, fighting from the Skittermounds to the Broken Shore and beyond. She returned to Trunau at the age of 42, to settle in and to spend the rest of her life defending her home town. She is a powerful woman and quick with her trademark lamp-blackened swords. Together with her sharp judgement and sense of politics, her many attributes make her a most capable leader of Trunau. Halgra is also the mother of Ruby, whose hopeknife ceremony kicks off this entire adventure.
Councilor Agrit Staginsdar - the only daughter of a long line of dwarven warriors who left Janderhoff and came to the small town of Trunau for unknown reasons. She disappointed her family greatly when after a few years of studying the art of war, she insisted on turning her studies to arcane magic. Agrit is a councilor and also the owner of the House of Wonders in Trunau, a fine business which provides spellcasting services and magic items. Agrit is married to Sara Morninghawk.
Councilor Sara Morninghawk - She is the owner of the Clamor smithy and oversees all of the metalwork for the town instructing several apprentices. She always carries her mother’s axe strapped to her back. Sara is the daughter of a Shoanti woman who arrived in Trunau already pregnant and didn’t like talking about her past. Sara’s marriage to the dwarf Agrit Staginsdar causes comments by some folks in town which are answered cheerfully by her.
