Q13 is a good one.

Second question, what type of weapons are on the weapon rack?

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

So Psoth you should get sneak attack if you're within 30 feet too.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

Yay, Sneak Attack!

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

I'm suddenly reminded of a certain OotS comic...

Skills:
Appraise +21, Bluff/Diplomacy +16, Fly +15, Know(Arcana/planes) +21, Know(other) +11, Perception +2, Sense Motive +0, Spellcraft +27
Defenses:

Isn't 5' step a free action? Can't be combined with other movement, I thought.

Me too!

I imagine Toramin's detect evil to be like hearing the earth groan from the weight of evil doers.

I really hope my crit confirmed. It would be some nice symmetry with him splattering our dude.

It... might be... huh... I really need to start looking things up. I could have sworn it was a swift action though... -grumbles- Off to google.

5-foot steps are free in PF. You might be thinking of 4e where they're a move action.

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

That's possible. I think... my old DM had house ruled it as a swift. XD I should probably re-read all the basics to see what else he did that with.

You know what? I'm going to take the low road and blame my fever. Which still hasn't bloody broken yet!

That said, he still might get sneak attack and point blank, and almost certainly gets inspired courage. XD I didn't miss that part!

M Human Rogue (sniper) 3|HP 24/24 |Init +2|AC 13 [touch 13 FF 10], Fort +2 Ref +6 Will +1; Per +6

I feel like such a beginner for forgetting about the sneak attack damage since Psotheos is within 30' and the anti-paladin is flat-footed, right?

...and I forgot the +1 to damage from Bjorkus's inspire courage. Combat was much easier wearing Geoffrey's armor and sword. -15 to attack. No pressure.

And now that I think about the scenario, I don't know if going from a seated position to standing and taking a 5' step is a free action. I think next time I'll just excuse myself by saying "Thanks, but I'll just go hide in the shadows."

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

Sneak, Sneak passed the hell-owned heaven-born.

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

It might not be Psoth, but you can draw a weapon as part of a move action anyway.

Also, you get another +1 to damage. Point blank shot gives +1 to attack and damage rolls against any enemy within thirty feet.

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

So, Toramin, Lindale, I'm trying to plot out what we might be able to do. The DM gave us a pretty explicit warning about detailed maps.

Depending on what the low bar is hanging onto, we may be able to trap him under something. The weapons rack might have some weapons on it we can pull down onto him, or maybe even a special weapon -shrug-. And those crates might be full of something for a heavy artillery weapon... maybe we can trip him or push him onto them? Who knows. XD I think your crit, Tor, might do wonders (if it hits) but just in case it doesn't we should probably plan something... maybe... pushing him off the side of the wall by luring him out the door? Hmm....

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

I was thinking we might want to lure him out of the guardhouse. We have archers. If he doesn't come to us, then he would eventually (?) go down under a stream of arrows. My plan was to attack (awesome, hopefully critical) and the do a 5' ft step back. If he is evil, then your smite evil would be nice. Awesome weapons are also nice.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

If there are any on that rack.

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

That's true too, but I'm not sure how many archers we have left. Then again, getting him outside will work for the arrows and pushing him off, and will give someone a chance to go inside and maybe find something useful.

Plus, if that was a crit, I think you might have his attention. XD

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

If it was, we get to see all the terrible gore from DM Omen's extra bad crit rules without having to suffer them ourselves. I keep telling myself that his Dex is bad so -- of course -- a 16 confirms. But, then again, I tell myself a great many things.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Oh one more thought, Gabe. Maybe we could get to the siege weapon and hit him with it.

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

I thought about that too. I think its upstairs. If one of us could lead him outside, the others could point it down on the wall. Problem is I think there's a chance we might hit one of us. XD

Male Drow Inquisitor (Infiltrator) 5 Init +3, Hp: 37/37, AC: 14(16)/Touch: 11/ Flatfooted: 14(16), Fort: 5/Ref: 3/ Will: 6, CMD: 17; Initiative +3; Perception +12; Sense Motive +10

But with an idea that awesome, isn't it a risk we should be willing to take? :-p

The low hanging bar is firmly attached to the ceiling.

Yes, unless they were entirely ready to fight or have an ability they are flat footed until they take an action in combat.

A pair of halberds, three longswords, two axes and two longbows.

The doorway is too small for your archers to fire through without the risk of hitting you.

Any other questions should be answered in my next gameplay post, if I forgot anything please remind me.

That soldier was very very lucky. 1 higher on the die and he would have been mince-meat. Let's see if their luck holds >:)

Since the three of us all have darkvision, dropping darkness will give us 50% chance not to be hit by his atacks if the guard room counts as dim light originally. And if he doesn't have a weapon or the Improved Unarmed Strike feat every attack he makes will provoke AoO from us. I think it is a smart way to deal with a bigger, tougher foe. Increase our attack options, decrease his.

There are two very large windows letting sunlight in the room.

I wonder if Geoffrey is at least 11th level? If he is, he could use aura of righteousness to give you guys smite evil for a minute. He might not be up for combat, but you could be his sword.

I dunno. If this guy is as much of a badass as I suspect, we’re going to have a very hard time touching his CMD. Just based on the descriptions Omen is giving, it sounds like the soldiers can’t hurt him.

I get the feeling there’s some trick to this encounter, I just can’t figure it out.

M Human Rogue (sniper) 3|HP 24/24 |Init +2|AC 13 [touch 13 FF 10], Fort +2 Ref +6 Will +1; Per +6

The antipaladin has taken down some of the soldiers so quickly, I don’t think a straight fight is the answer here. Was Dalton’s check high enough to tell him about the blue substance? Regardless, Psotheos is close to desperation. He may just fill a bucket of the material and throw it on the aasimar. Unless it's supposed to be mixed with the lava? Hmmmm.

No, his check wasn't high enough to tell anything. You can try a knowledge dungeoneering check, but it's a little higher DC

God no. T.T

It looks like Lindale is between the guy and the weapon rack, so Gabriel is just gonna attack him. Nice attacks though!

Lets see.... How is the low hanging bar attached to the ceiling exactly?

We really don't want him to rearm himself, but if you think Lindale is enough to prevent him access to those weapons, sure. You might want to move though so we can flank for each other next round.
