My appointment is scheduled for tomorrow. T.T They didn't have anything for today.

I think our goal is to gain entrance for our army into the city. Maybe we have hopes of securing whatever local symbols of authority we can find -- like the evil leader, Nuro (?). Given that Omen suggested the city was falling easier than we suspected, I'm guessing that we (as a side) are like five steps behind the other side in terms of planning. Perhaps they are going to let our army in to blow it up. Perhaps the dictator is using the confusion to sacrifice a goodly portion of the populace to fuel some unholy apotheosis. Whatever the plan is the "bad guys" currently are setting the tempo.

Has anyone read the Malazan books of the fallen series by Steven Erikson? I don't know why but I'm getting serious Kallor premonitions about the entire thing.

Oh, Bjorkus, you should be watching American Horror Story: Coven. It has its own (sexy?) Manotaur!

I think they're planning on holding the inner wall, and have placed all their siege on the outer to weaken our army enough thhat we can't take it conventionally. And with their spies reports they know how to stop us unconventionally by having the Aasimar and the walls down in the tunnels.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

I think the problem with that plan is if we can invest the outer walls, then we have all their siege weapons to bring down their inner walls.

By all accounts our military force is stronger than theirs. If there is no way you can win a game, you change the rules. Or at least that's why I think there is something nefarious going on.

I watched most of season one. What's the tone like for this season?

Kind of campy, but that's not surprising. I think they have gotten better at balancing the silly with the honestly horrific. I have hopes for the season and I love witches, so I would watch it regardless. My main concern is that Ryan Murphy is trying to make bold statements about femininity and race in America this season, which is suspect he is incapable of pulling off well.

I hate this site. If I take to long writing something it resets or something and I lose my post.

To summarize what I tried to write, there's little we can do without more hints. You can be write, but the fact is the siege weapons we can take on this wall are useless against the inner wall. They're probably built where they stand now because moving em down from a wall is a pain, and they can't reach the inner wall from here says the DM. Not to mention, we might just be paranoid. Warranted? Yes. But its still a possibility.

That said, we do have an option. We can take the wall, then load up on bombs and go take down the gates. But we need as much of the wall down as possible.

And since Toramin just rolled a badass 26 on his engineering roll, my guess is he can start taking em down right now!

If the minotaur doesn't have the requisite perform skills, I hardly think that should count. =P

Yeah, that was my problem with the first season. The comedy worked and the horror worked but I don't feel like it worked together. At times it took me out of the show.

I have a strategy question for you, and it's one Toramin and Gabriel need to discuss. There is another catapult very close by. We can do one of two things. We can either go secure it and use two catapults or we can make it our first target.

Hmm... I think we need to blow it up. We could take it, but I don't think we could hold two seperate positions and coerce the soldiers at both enough to use the siege engine with half a guard on em. We're already low on numbers here if they choose to flood our position with soldiers.

Did Bjorkus use his non-magical axe or the antipaladin's likely magical one? I'm rooting for you to get some lootz, Bjorkus! :-)

Bjorkus, you guys are clearing the path for dwarven engineers to bring explosives to the main gate and open it up.

Group 1 is simply part of the vanguard. Take the wall, take the city, capture people of importance. I wanted to see how it was getting involved in a strait up war.

Dalton, you're getting something nice for that pun. Bravo.

I am working on getting a description of the city to you. Quick version:
The wall you just took faces directly south.
There is an inner wall at the northern part of the city, just a little more north than the center.
Siege weapons on the wall can maybe reach the inner wall, but it would be very hard to arc it up and aim that much. Possible, just hard and time consuming.
There is a large body of water at the northeastern corner of the city. It leads out into the ocean through a gate, but the only way through the gate is on something that floats.
Most of the northern city is noble houses, the castle, other things for the higher class. The southern half (a little more than half) is the lower class.
The southwestern part of the city houses a massive building where all the troops and military supplies spend most of their time. Very in range of siege weapons...
You know there is a vast, complicated sewer system underneath the entire city. As an oncoming army, most peoples thoughts on it are "secret entrance".
More to come later, especially when group 2 catches up.

Ooooh, I definitely want to bombard that building. How close to the inner wall is that building? For example, if he happened to hit their weapon stockpile and cause a massive explosion, could it open up a hole in the inner wall?

Toramin, gotta focus man. We still have to take the wall. Those siege engines are killing are soldiers still you know. :P

After that, shouldn't we evacuate the area before we bombard the building? Don't want any innocents getting caught in a blast or something. Not to mention thats not exactly bloodless. XD

I would advise you to keep in mind you are here to remove Nuro and give power back to the city.

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

What he said. Lets take the walls, then see what we can learn from our reinforcements. Besides, Team 1 is taking out the inner wall. Thats the secret tunnel, remember? XD Focus on our job. :P Take the wall, do it as cleanly as possible.

By the way, my fever broke. Doc says I am better, but I need to rest for a couple more days. And I didn't lose my job. Boss was real nice and said he understood.

Toramin will do as he said on the main thread. (Target the siege weapons.) (But it is useful to know where the barracks are.)

He also believes that the purpose of this effort is to consolidate two countries together. He could be totally wrong on that, but that's what he believes is happening based on what he believes the Voices in the Stone were implying.

No team 1 is going to blast a hole on the outer wall. Team 2 and other soldiers have loose control of the outer wall but only via ladders and a slow stream of soldiers. Team 1 is clearing the way so the non-combatant engineers can safely make it to the wall

Good, and good Gabe!

Both Alice and our lava encased friend (It works on more than just Callisto!) called us peasants (which is not true for at least two of us), does this suggest endemic class anxiety among the nobility of this country?

Ah, very perceptive Toramin. Yes, there is some tension between the different classes (of living). It is being divided more by the new technology, which most nobility can afford but few lower class citizens can.
