I don't think it's noticeable that I'm calcifying until level 3. :-)

Gabriel, What's Oath of Justice? And how do you have two feats? I knew you were human! ;-)

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

+1 to Lay on Hands Heal (Self only)

Divine Grace: +Cha to all saves (+3)

You plan on having him notice the change or have it physically change his appearance over time?

Oath of Justice is actually Oath of Vengeance, it just doesn't sound quite as bad.

And Gabriel got a second feat by taking the (approved) flaw Inattentive, a wopping -4 to perception. XD For it I took Furious Focus, since it works well to show the duality of his nature and meshes well mechanically with what I want to do with him.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

Both. I sort of imagine him "fading" darker until he just looks like a moving lump of basalt.

I believe flaws in Pathfinder give bonus traits, not feats.

Did Omen change that and I didn't notice?

I reread Heartstone (Su), and you are right Gabe, I start looking rockier now. So you might notice that his brown skin is getting both darker and duller.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Gabriel, where did you get Inattentive from? Was that one fully homebrewed?

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

He mentioned them at character creation is what I know. I may have made a mistake though so I might be losing that feat soon enough. XD I just googled pathfinder flaws and got this page as an option and a lot of homebrew stuff after on google. That page, as far as I know, is just official DnD stuff.

I do know that unless Omen specifically says otherwise, even if they are allowed, ya gotta take em at character creation though.

Also, checked his first post, feeling a little relieved but still uncertain. XD He does say flaws, drawbacks and so on are allowed with approval... but its possible he was lumping them all together.

I wasn't aware it was giving you a feat or was such a major drawback. A free feat is a huge thing, and honestly I am hesitant to allow it. If you would, please make the penalty to perception a -2 and pick a trait instead of a feat. My mistake, I lumped them, didn't realize there was an actual difference.

If you would, please post your level up as some people are already doing. It helps me keep track of things.

If everybody gets leveled we can get things rolling tonight.

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

Yeah, Pathfinder can't touch Flaws since it was a 3.5 thing I think. So they made drawbacks instead. I've seen enough DM's give it as an option that I didn't question it. Going to have to think on the new trait though... I made Gabriel around the idea that I didn't have to worry too much about too hit. Might have to make a few tweaks.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

Sorry, Gabe I didn't mean to have you lose a feat. :-(

Skills:
Appraise +21, Bluff/Diplomacy +16, Fly +15, Know(Arcana/planes) +21, Know(other) +11, Perception +2, Sense Motive +0, Spellcraft +27
Defenses:
AC 11/11/10 HP 68/68 / F +6 R +5 W +9 (+2 vs. Enchantments) / Init. +2
Spells:
DC = 17 + lvl. (+2 if transmutation) (+1 if on Druid list)

I'll take avg + 1. I'll adjust my sheet tomorrow, but it's not too relevant for wizards; not much changes at 2.

The fault is mine, I don't know how I missed an extra feat when I swept through your character sheets. I should have caught it before we started.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

Gotcha Omen. Though, to be fair, some of these flaws are so cool I may just RP them anyway. Hmm...

Bard 1
+9 HP
+2 Ref and Will

+4 skill ranks (Perform: Oratory, Perform: Lovemaking, Swim, and Climb)

bardic performance (standard action) (5 rounds/day)
bardic performance: countersong
bardic performance: distraction
bardic performance: fascinate (1 targets) (dc 11)
bardic performance: inspire courage +1

Bard Spells Known (CL 1):
1 (2/day) Cure Light Wounds, Invigorate (DC 12)
0 (at will) Spark (DC 11), Mending, Flare (DC 11), Light

Invigorate has RP potential and could come in handy if Gabriel falls asleep in his armor again.

Bjorkus, please update the stat line under your profile name. You accidentally put barbarian 2 instead of a level of bard

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Fixed. =)

I fear what the visual and auditory components of Perform (Lovemaking) might be. What do think it would add to for versatile performance? ;-)

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

LOL.

I wasn't planning on using it for class features. It's just part of his gimmick. That said, now I'm pondering...

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

Yeah, its not your fault Toramin, no worries there.

Going to take a the Blessed Touch trait, which will add an additional +1 to any damage I heal with Lay on Hands or any Cure Spells I'll cast in the future. That work for you DM Omen?

Not as polarizing as the Furious Focus option with Power Attack, but I suppose you can't win em all. -shrug-. Does push things back a little. From level 3 on I had intended to only take Extra Lay on Hands, for the extra healing and utility it will offer me. Hmm... might take Furious Focus at 5...

Bjorkus you still haven't fixed it. Under class/levels, the line that appears under your name when you post, it says you have 2 levels of barbarian.

Perform lovemaking...I think some versatile uses of that will be increasing the chance of getting DM hammered. I kid, I kid.

Trait seems good. Sorry for setting you back. Paladins are often feat hungry.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

I changed it to Bardbarian because it seemed clever. =P

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

Yes, yes they are. But thats fine. Aside from Power Attack and Furious Focus I really only intend to take Extra Lay on Hands. I -could- make this guy into a monstrous killing machine if I wanted to, but I'm sticking with the option that makes Gabriel much more varied when it comes to his abilities.

Besides which, I'm sending ya a message now about something I wanted to RP out a little...

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

If Bardbarian doesn't work for you, I can change it further.

I'm thinking Perform: Lovemaking would work for Diplomacy and Sense Motive but that seems kind of overdone.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

From personal experience, Intimidate might not be too far afield. :-p

Paladins are not my area of expertise, although from what I hear you either go TWF bane of evil or you go versatile.

Bardbarian, ha. That's clever. I just missed it. Yes that's fine. Diplomacy is definitely one of them. The other...hmm...yes I agree with sense motive.

Oh god, intimidate. Please, burn that out of my mind

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Well since we're talking about it...

Would Perform: Lovemaking be an option for Versatile Performance?

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

Oh, yes. I could, easily, make a character of any class that could destroy things. But I'd rather not. -shrug- Especially not for this fun game. Paladins in particular are really strong in games focused against undead, demons and devils. In others, their strength varies, unless you're going for a very pure 'everything the party fights is auto evil' kind of thing, which you are probably not.

All performances are an option. Although I would imagine (hope) that one comes into play less often than some of the others.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Well it won't be an issue until next level but what would the associated skills for Versatile Performance be?

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

Just keep him away from Crete and you will be fine.

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

I'm going to find a feeble minded scroll for myself so I can forget this conversation this ever happened.

Ditto Gabriel...

Bjorkus, check my previous posts. I decided on diplomacy and sense motive

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Heh, I wasn't sure if you were throwing intimidate around as a possibility or not.

As for everyone being updated tonight and ready to move on, I don't think our rogue is around.

Male Tiefling Paladin 7 Tiefling, Init +0, Hp: 67/67, AC: 21/Touch: 10/ Flatfooted: 21, Resist 5: Fire, Electricity; Fort: 11/Ref: 6/ Will: 9, CMD: 21, Perception +0 (+2); Loh 6/10 day, Smite 2/3 day, Shatter 0/1 day

I've added Gabriels Resist 5: Fire, Electricity to his thing above my posts. This way I don't forget and take 8 points of electricity damage next time. XD Plus, I have a feeling fireballs will happen in this game. o.o Lots of them.

Also, does anyone else notice that nearly everyone now has a way to heal people?

Toramin and I got lay on hands, Bjorkus and Lindale got Cure Light Wounds. I'm sensing some fear here... XD

And well warranted. You can never have too much healing...

Well I'm calling it a night. We shall continue this in the morn.

I've never understood why paladins get to heal themselves as a swift but have to heal others as a standard.

As beacons of heroic goodness, shouldn't they lean towards helping others first?
