Thanks, He is a cleric of Torag. Torag's favored weapon is the Warhammer. Is my cleric proficient with that weapon. Torag is a Dwarven God.

Shadow Lodge

Clerics automatically get proficiency with their deity's favored weapon. It's under their Weapon and Armor Proficiency.

Thanks just making sure. Learned a long time ago never assume anything when role playing.

Cuàn here

Still having trouble deciding whether I want to go Druid or Ranger as my second class. Started building him as Ranger but now I'm no longer sure. (I am sure though that I'll grab the Frog domain if I go Druid, fits with the mask in the picture. It's just too bad they haven't made a Frog familiar yet).

I have settled on Half-Orc over Orc.

This looks like fun. I'd like to borrow from the drow noble and present the Wayang Elite.

Spoiler:

Total RP=20, so one side of the gestalt will be -1 level.

Humanoid (Wayang) (0 RP)
Humanoid races have few or no supernatural or spell-like abilities, but most can speak and have well-developed societies. Humanoids are usually Small or Medium, unless they have the giant subtype, in which case they are Large. Every humanoid creature also has a subtype to match its race, such as human, giant, goblinoid, reptilian, or tengu. If you are making a new humanoid race, you should either find an existing subtype to match or make a new one by using the name of the race as the subtype. If you are making a half-breed race, it should have the racial type of both parent races. For example, a half-elf has both the human and the elfsubtypes. Subtypes are often important to qualify for other racial abilities and feats. If a humanoid has a racial subtype, it is considered a member of that race in the case of race prerequisites.
A humanoid race has the following features:
Humanoids breathe, eat, and sleep.

Small (0 RP)
Small races gain a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a –1 penalty on combat maneuver checks and to theirCMD, and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks. Small races have a space of 5 feet by 5 feet and a reach of 5 feet.

Normal Speed (0 RP)
The race has a base speed of 30 feet.

Advanced (4 RP)
Prerequisites: Advanced or monstrous power level.
Modifiers: Pick either mental or physical ability scores. Members of this race gain a +2 bonus to all of those scores, a +4 bonus to one score of the other type, and a –2 penalty to one other ability score of the other type.
(+2 STR, DEX, CON, +4 INT, -2 WIS)

Standard (0 RP)
Members of this race start with Common plus their racial language (if any). Furthermore, choose up to seven languages (except for Druidic or other secret languages). Members of this race with high Intelligence scores can choose from any of these additional languages.

Defense Racial Traits

Spell Resistance, Greater (3 RP)

Prerequisites: None.
Benefit: Members of this race gain spell resistance equal to 11 + their character level.
Feat and Skill Racial Traits

Gift of Tongues (2 RP)
Prerequisites: Standard or linguist language quality.
Benefit: Members of this race gain a +1 racial bonus on Bluff and Diplomacy checks, and they learn one additional language every time they put a rank in the Linguistics skill.

Skill Bonus (4 RP)
Prerequisites: None.
Benefits: Pick a single skill. Members of this race gain a +2 racial bonus on skill checks made with this skill. Alternatively, pick two related skills—each member of this race gains a +1 racial bonus on these skills during character creation.
Special: This trait can be taken up to three times. Each time it is taken, choose a different skill (+2 bonus) or two different skills (+1 bonus on one of character's choice).
(Perception and Stealth)

Magical Racial Traits

Shadow Magic (2 RP)
Prerequisites: None.
Benefit: Members of this race add +1 to the DC of any saving throws against spells of the shadow subschool that they cast. Members of this race with a Charisma score of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities (the caster level is equal to the user's character level):
1/day—ghost sound, pass without trace, ventriloquism
Senses Racial Traits

See in Darkness (4 RP)
Prerequisites: None.
Benefit: Members of this race can see perfectly in darkness of any kind, including that created by spells such as deeper darkness.

Other Racial Traits

Light and Dark (1 RP)
Prerequisites: None.
Benefit: Members of this race gain the following supernatural ability: Once per day as an immediate action, a member of this race can treat positive and negative energies as if it were an undead creature, taking damage from positive energy and healing damage from negative energy. This ability lasts for 1 minute once activated.

And other than gestalt, I think I will keep things easy with a wizard/rogue.

Premise being him growing up in Chance. He's taken a job with the watch because he believes that the mystery behind the death of his parents, and his birth right can be found somewhere in the Warrens.

I've got a solid outline of my character finished here, with a few gaps to finish, some of which I wanted to run by you first! I have a lot of the mechanics in her profile above, and a few questions for you, dear DM. I'd really like for her to be a Paladin of Freedom of some sorts or another, though I don't think it'd involve any real mechanical changes at this point other than her moral religious code. I've written a loose back story for her in the profile to give you an idea of the type of character I'd like her to be, and I was actually hoping to play her as some sort of halfling that had been touched by some force of nature.

I imagine her as being tall for a halfling (about 4'4" or so)but really being able to manipulate her image as if using a hat of disguise to glamour herself, and what ever she has on her person at will, but I really like the idea of it being an innate talent. Would it be alright with you if she started with no starting gold and no real valuables beyond her bow and the ability to use and maintain such an illusion at will?

I'm more than open to suggestions about her back-story or history as it fits in with the campaign, or her race for that matter. The idea of a blessed whimsical magical storyteller with a tie to the sea and the sky without a set in stone appearance really snowballed from nothing into something when I was trying to put my character together here! I half seriously, half bemusedly apologize for loosing my imagination on you.

Kirel Torncloud(formerly Leagallow), reporting for duty. My stats are in my profile.

it is good to see more players :)

its even better if they stick around

With Lyn GMing another game I'm in, how could I not?

wasn't directed at you, or even this game, just noticed that a lot of people drop out right after t he game starts or they get accepted in many games, and that keeps me wonder what its about

Shadow Lodge

No worries. I've seen it happen a lot myself, and heard stories about it as well.

Got a question, might be silly but it's part of the fluff for my character. I'm looking to get a mere club made out of jade. It'd be a mostly ceremonial weapon, a gift before Uru went on his vision quest (which in turn landed him in Chance).

Now the question is, what would the thing cost me and how would it work? The mere club has the fragile quality by default but the type of jade, Pounamu, that these clubs are made of is really hard (which also is the reason using Stone isn't an option). Besides that, it's a valuable stone.

If I remember correctly, if you actually manage to take Vow of Poverty at character creation, it gives you a bonus exalted feat at first level. Having an ongoing love affair with Vow of Poverty, I think I might actually remember this correctly for a change. *smiles*

If we both end up playing chaotic good female halflings who worship both Desna and Chalidra, we'd probably have an interesting relationship. Look forward to seeing you in Chance!

It gives a bonus feat at level two, so you weren't far off. :)

I love it too, especially since it's less powerful than a character with wealth would be(people have checked) and I don't mind being weaker for a concept.

Should say the Vow from Exalted deeds, the one from pathfinder is well bad.

Isn't the Book of Exalted Deeds Vow of Poverty the quick road to being ridiculously overpowered?

For having absolutely no items? Yeah. But people have gone through all the bonus and put them to items to see what the amount of gold to achieve the same effect was. It was below wealth by level, so thouse without the Vow are actually weaker than the non-Vow counterpart.

Plus, if you can't stay good, you lose all of the Exalted feats without getting them back, which includes those you took without the VoP's bonus feats.

Kirel is approved. Sorry I haven't had a chance to review anyone else's stuff/ answer questions yet. I just had a quick couple of minutes while waiting for the kidlet to track down what he did with his shoes so we can head out. I will answer questions/ review characters this evening and thank you for being patient.
I've heard the rundown on VoP before but could you please put the info on it in your character profile? I don't have the book of exalted deeds. I would appreciate being able to see what it says exactly. I've seen it before in someone else's book, so it's not like I don't know what it does. I'd just like to have it there for easy reference.

Huh, that's odd! I could have sworn there's a blurb about how humans who take Sacred Vow and Vow of Poverty at first level get a bonus exalted feat at both first *and* second level. *muses* Don't mind me, it's been a while since my table top DM let me any where near our actual copy of Exalted Deeds. *chuckles* Good times!

Lyn, it's no problem at all! I'm still on vaccation with the family myself! Happy end of fourth celebrations everyone!

Still not done but almost there, just need gear.

Alright, I have some miscellaneous gear left to buy, but as far as crunch goes, this character is good to go. Info is in the profile.

Background is done.

What remains is gear and actually deciding whether I want to stick to Ranger or go Druid instead.

** spoiler omitted **...

Your background/why you're in the watch is sound. I think I'm okay with the race, but it's a bit of info overload as written. Could you do me a favor and condense it into the sort of stat block form that playable races usually get? And put that info under a spoiler in your alias profile so it will be easy to find later if I need to look at it.

I'm fine with Paladin of Freedom. But give me an idea of what you consider her moral code to be. I'm not going to be a jerk about it, but with a paladin it's always important to monitor from time to time whether they're really sticking with their code.

Hmm. Some sort of fey-touched perhaps? Disguise self at will is pretty unique. But it certainly fits with the fey idea. Not sure about forgoing equipment for a racial trait. Need to think about that more.
Her background works well as is. Sea travel is common. And Chance is a huge port. Especially if her last ship was a smuggler she would have come ashore in the Warrens. And I could see someone who is a curious free spirit wanting to take some time to explore this huge city.
Based on her attitude and would guess she started out in Vaelyn, but it doesn't sound like she has a lot of ties to her home country.

Actually we've only lost two so far. That's remarkably good. I usually expect much worse. :)

Shadow Lodge

The 3.5 CHangelings had Disguise Self as a Extraordinary ability, which seemed to take the place of the the human bonus feat(being half-human/half-doppelganger). If I remember correctly, that was all they had. Maybe a skill bonus or two.

o.O

....well, ummm.....I don't really know. That big a chunk of jade would definitely cost a pretty penny. I'd say cost it out like mithral, so +500gp/lb. Not really sure what to do about the hardness. I am open to sugggestions.

My guy is done crunch wise. Still need to think up of a good background. I am going for a merc theme with personal plans ;)

Thank you. I had forgotten about that. So perhaps having it replace fearless and halfling luck? That seems to be an even exchange.

You are just all kinds of helpful tonight.

I do what I can. The exchange seems fair to me, but then again, it's not my character. ;)

That should have max hit points. And you get two traits. I didn't see any there. Might have missed them. Obviously I'm going through a lot of info in a short time. :)

Other than that all I need from you is a reason why you're joining the watch.

Uru Zil'Jain wrote:

Nice work on the background. :)

Ah yes, Traits and a reason...

I'm in the Watch because it keeps me in or near the Warrens, which my family won't want to go in or near. :)

Traits to come soon.

EDIT: And skills too! :/

Updated with Notes on Jame's Moral Code, His history/reason for being in the watch, and traits.

I got Gotas' background up. Let me know if anythings missing, needs to be added, etc etc.

Otherwise I think he is ready to go =)

Hmm, that's quite expensive for a ceremonial piece that won't see any combat use. I'll see what I end up doing. As for the Hardness things, I think treating it as masterwork would be half the work, as that makes the fragile quality fall off.

EDIT: Got a question in regards to helping me figure out whether to grab Ranger or Druid: Will we ever move beyond the city of Chance?

Just make it a regular club for all mechanical reasons except it's actually made of green rock. Keep the mechanics and just change the fluff.

Tiny Coffee Golem wrote:

Yeah, I guess Masterworking it and calling it "greenstone" instead of jade is the easiest option.

Nice to see all the new Applicants. The watch can use you. the warrens are a mess.

Sorry Ross. It didn't occur to me there was anything untoward about that site. Probably should have, but honestly didn't. :(

I asked for some info, DB3 provided a link to where I could find said info, and I am quite sure it never occurred to either of us that there was anything wrong with it. But it was for a pdf of a 3.5 book. In hindsight I should have realized that was not on the up and up, but I really didn't think about it. Ross took down the posts and I apologized for inadvertently violating the messageboard policy. That's all.

Sorry for not catching that when I reviewed the character sheet. This is why I should only review characters when I can give them my full attention. :)

Okay, it looks all good. It's interesting to see the problems with the church of Iomedae from the other side of that conflict.

Based on your history and moral code I foresee some interesting encounters in your future. :)
