Just wanted to drop a quick apology into all my games. The days between Christmas and New Year turned out to be a lot more chaotic/busy than I’d expected (despite — or may because of — them all being work-free).
I’ll be able to start catching up tomorrow. I’ll try to post tomorrow, then with my usual consistency thereafter.
Thanks for the patience, everyone.

And once more. Busy weekend (my wife left town, and I'm apparently supposed to keep all three of our kiddos alive while she's gone. This is much more of a colossal task than you'd expect.)
I'll be back to full posting on Tuesday. I'll try to post when I can until then, but don't let my absence slow things down. Use his Knowledge skills as necessary, and use his big sword liberally when useful.
Oh, and Narika, I didn't miss Narika's comment about best friends. I'll try to come ham to it. It'd definitely be a worthwhile revelation to Talon. :)

I think you have it incorrect. You don't have to keep them alive. You just have to report what happens to them. Submit a memo with a reasonable explanation.

When we're done with this adventure, if I'm understanding PFS rules correctly, Narika will level up, but I've never leveled up a PFS character. Am I understanding the rules correctly that after this adventure is the last time for a free rebuild? If so, would someone give Narika's character sheet a quick glance to make sure I'm not doing something that will make her unplayable at higher levels?

I'm not the best at optimizing casters, but I can give it a look.
What do you want her to do as you level up? Straight blasting with some utility casting? What level of optimization are you looking for?
A quick glance looks like you have a solid foundation for a blaster sorcerer. There are ways to boost her damage output for spells, but its generally at the expense of other things ... like spell flexibility.
If it were my character, I might look at dropping her Dex by 1 to boost your Con a bit. Even dropping it by a single point (spending 7 instead of 10 on dex) allows you to push Con up to 13. That could, in turn, let you reshuffle your feat slot over into something more mage-centric. (In my limited experience, there's always a shortage of feat slots on a sorcerer).
Just my thoughts, take them with a grain of salt.

By the way, I'm trying my hand at GMing play by post with a Dreamscarred Press psionics adventure, and I know you guys are all fun to roleplay with, if any of you are interested.
Here's the recruitment link:

If you post there, please just let me know who you are here!
edit: should have remembered to point out that of course this is not PFS.

Spell Focus is always good for something blasty, if you're looking for a feat. Like, making your Fireballs that much harder to dodge is a good thing.
I wouldn't worry about metamagic until you can cast 2nd-level spells, at the earliest. That is, unless you're looking to qualify for some weird prestige class or something.
As for joining another game, I think my dance card's about filled up. Sorry.

If you're going to be a blasty mage, you can also consider feats like Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot.
Ranged touch attacks are typically considered a ray weapon and those feats can bolster your chances to hit. With a 17 or 18 dex you do already have a +3/+4 to hit plus your BAB as you level, and not every caster takes those feats, but they can come in handy.
Marock Darkwood

I agree with Xynen in the fact that you are also aiming for a touch AC vs a normal AC.
Point blank shot
Precise shot
School focus
Greater school focus
Spell penetration
Greater spell penetration
Spell focus
Meta magic feats
All these feats are good for evocation. I would also consider admixture evocation in order to change the element of a spell. You will be able to create an ice fireball, or fire lightning bolt, etc.

Once again, congrats guys, you have completed your confirmation and each of you are now full fledged Pathfinders!
Here are your Chronicle Sheets!
We can role play any response you may have to Janira and I'll add in some final details as we go.
As for what's next, that's up to the group. When I started recruitment it was just for 3 consecutive scenarios to get my feet wet. We've discussed scenarios to do next, and I'm more than willing to keep going, I quite like the group we have.
If you're all good to continue with Blackwaters let me know. I'll make sure to give you enough time to level up.

Sweet! (And very importantly, we live!)
I think this is a great group, too, and I'm definitely down with continuing. Unfortunately I'm in Black Water now. If the group wants to run it, I can sit this one out.
Would it be helpful for me to repost my list of scenarios played? We can build on that as a "unavailable scenarios" list (where we all put up what we have or are running).
GM Xynen
|
Well, we had previously discussed playing blackwaters at level 2 followed up with school of spirits, but it seems Mr. Of Kenebras jumped the gun :p. I'd hate to have one of you sit out for a scenario, so my preference would be to find a new set of scenarios but I'll leave that up to vote.
As for a list of already played scenarios, there is a website that can filter scenarios playable by an entire group, but it does require each individual player to register and log their games played. I always forget to bookmark it, but I know Nightfiend aka Aarion aka Marock knows the url, if you could link it here Aarion I'd appreciate it.
Provided everyone is on board to continue I'll keep a What's Next in the header so we know which scenarios to avoid recruitment for.

A new Scenario is fine with me. If it's all the same to you, though, I'd prefer not to run School of Spirits. The two work better (I've heard) if you go Black Waters, then School of Spirits.
Working on my character sheet now.
Talon, of Kenabres
|
Then let's do this. Stick with Black Waters. I'll sit this one out. Or can I run it with a character (this one or another) for no XP? Then we can all jump back into School of Spirits afterwards, as per the original plan.
It's my fault it's an issue, the group should still get to run it. I'm okay missing an XP.

Talon don't sweat it, that conversation was a full two months ago and you're in quite a few games. Can't expect to remember everything.
The problem with running for 0 credit, as Aarion pointed out, is that it can only be done to fill the minimum 'table' limit, which I believe is 4.
Ai, I was thinking of avoiding School of Spirits as well for the same reason.
Here is the website I mentioned. If you register you can click on Report in the upper left hand corner, then you select a season and click on the check box for which version of the scenario you ran. Once you're registered I can run a search of multiple PFS #'s to see what is still available to the group as a whole.
And Here is a thread started a few years ago of scenarios with continuous story arcs.

If yall don't mind that Ollo has been quite useless up to this point, I would like to continue. Where we go from here really doesn't matter to me.. but here is a tool that we could use. I use this to keep track of what I have played/gm'd, maybe we can all put in our info and go from there?
edit: this is a COPY of the form I use, so feel free to edit it without worry about messing up my info. It is also slightly out of date.. I will work on that.

Tanks for running this Xynen. Ill be switching back over to Aarion unless we move into another evergreen scenario that Aarion has already played. I will be away from the computer most the night tonight (its my table game night), but I should have everything updated and ready to go by tomorrow.

Well, I have a list of scenarios available to Aest, Nightfiend and Eben the Quiet from the tracker I linked earlier, and Narika is pretty much available for everything. Both Eben and Aest are listed as not having played the Consortium Compact so I'm not sure how accurate the list is.
Whatever tracker we do use is fine by me, I'd just like everyone to use the same one so it makes my life easier when picking scenarios.
From what I can tell City of Strangers might be available to everyone. It's a two part investigative arc that takes place in Kaer Maga. From what I can tell Part 1 is very roleplay heavy while part two is a bit more combat oriented, but both seem to be rated highly.
Let me know what you all think.
Jian-Wei Ai

Uh, I didn't see Consortium Compact on the list. I like the idea of Kaer Maga. Sounds like fun.
GM Xynen, I've got a boon from PbP Gameday 4 I'd been meaning to add to this character. the link is here. Do you need to sign off on it or something, or can I just do it?
GM Xynen
|
I can't see the boon, says the folder is no longer viewable. That being said I don't believe I need to sign off on it as long as you add the date and PFS PC you've assigned it to.
GM Xynen

Ah, yeah don't know how I missed that.
How about The Quest for Perfection It's a 3-parter that would bring the group up to level 3. If that doesn't work I'll start looking at individual scenarios instead of multipart ones.

Quest for perfection sounds good to me!

Quest for Perfection sounds great.
As for nor marking off Consortium Compsct, I only checked off Evergreens that I'd played at level 2. There's no real reason to mark them off for a level 1 run-through since you can simply run it again.

If yall don't mind that Ollo has been quite useless up to this point, I would like to continue.
You've been plenty helpful. and just cause you haven't had your moment yet certainly doesn't mean you won't. :)
We wouldn't rol forward without Ollo!

The Quest for Perfection sounds good here. I haven't played it or GM'ed it, so it's a fresh scenario for me. I'll try to update the tracker tonight so it reflects current scenarios that I am involved with.

GM: 1) Thank you for taking on the incredible burden of Gm'ing so many back to back games. This has turned into a really great group and I appreciate the entire dynamic here. I am exceptionally pleased we are continuing. Between nursing school, full time job, and wife and kid, I haven't played a table game in almost two years. It feels good to have a set group to get familiar with and have some continuity!
2) This weekend has sucked for me. I will have Ollo leveled up Monday, hopefully. If nothing else, I can RP a bit until I can get everything caught up.
