Talon is correct, those two are just standard scenarios so are subject to normal PFS rules, which means you can play them one in classic and once in core unless you have a GM star to cash in.

![]() |

I have already completed the conformation, but would be willing to run through without credit or possibly make a fresh character for the evergreens if everyone is ok with that.

![]() |

Unless you ran through it with a level 2 character, you may go through it as many times as you wish, Aarion.
[edit] Ok, i see what you mean now. Sorry!

![]() |

yup. That's why I edited. I was curious, and to make sure I was not putting my foot in my own mouth I checked.. and saw that indeed, I was in error!

![]() |

I'm ok with playing it. I think it is good to have it under your belt as a level 1 character. The benefit is that it gives you scenario XP without limiting the availability of scenarios for your other characters. The downfall seems to be the gold and PP you get is less than if you had completed a normal scenario. So, a character with three normal scenarios completed, who has now made level 2, would have more resources available then a character that completed three evergreen scenarios.

![]() |

I've been assuming Aarion was a fresh number 1, otherwise I would have told you that you recognized Janira Gavix in the Wounded Wisp. I have no issue with you rolling a fresh character for confirmation I'll leave it up to you, my intent was to keep the same group of players for a while, maintaining pc's is a fun option but working with new individuals is also a theme of society play so it's good.
Will update in a couple hours wheb I get home.

![]() |

My intent, over in Gameplay, was to move the watcher so you could enter the tomb. If it works, I'll come up with a clever excuse to send her on her way in a minute and then regroup. If not, I'll tearfully confess, or something.

![]() |

I originally intended to create a level 1 fresh character. I was having concerns about having to many PFS characters in play. In order to avoid this, I decided to rework Aarion, who was level 1, but had a couple scenarios under his belt. For continuity reasons, I am OK with playing through the conformation with Aarion and just not report it for credit. This should close the gap between my already completed scenarios and the groups freshly made characters.
I will make sure I don't contribute in the decision making parts of the scenario, so I don't ruin any fun for those who have not played through it yet.

![]() |

I just set the map to be the lowest layer on the drawing, so you shouldn't have any more trouble with disappearing icons, let me know if you do.

![]() |

Ok will do, we're almost done with this one. If you're still around: is it safe to assume Ai would share the information in her spoiler with the rest of her group?

![]() |

Yeah if I had realized we would have gone through that quickly I would have registered it as part of Gameday.
Here be Chronicles!
Please let me know if I missed anything or messed something up, this is my first time filling out Chronicle sheets. The game has been reported as well.
I'll start the next scenario once everyone has agreed on which one to run, as long as everyone is on board to keep going, that is.

![]() |

Snatch and grab performed for my chronicle.. it all looks good.
As for advice and pointers, I think that you ran this exceptionally well for your first PbP, and am very pleased with how things turned out; despite a cowardly dwarf. I see a personality foil in his near future! As for what to play next, I am good with any choice. I would prefer that we run the new evergreen, but I am open for anything that keeps the group together and moving!
Edit: As this is my first Core game, I am not too sure how the reporting and everything looks, but shouldn't it at least say somewhere that this was core as opposed to regular PFS?

![]() |

This isn't a core game (the party voted to play classic not core, so this was just standard PFS), if Ollo was registered as core, being reported in a standard game will make him standard, I do apologize if you'd intended him to be core. Feel free to rebuild him with non-core options before the next game if you would like.
The new one also has my vote as everyone would be new to it. So that's 3/7 for the new one as of now.

![]() |

Talon is pretty much ready to roll. I hope you don't mind, Xynen, but I went ahead and updated the chronicle sheet with all my purchases (both pre-and post-game), so that I'd be ready to roll as soon as the new scenario gets underway.
It's basically just swapping his original greatsword for a fancy new masterwork cold iron one. :D
Well, that and spending my prestige for a Wand of Infernal Healing so I don't have to tax our party resources if/when Talon gets injured.
Here's what my updated Chronicle sheet looks like. Just so you can check it if you want to.

![]() |

It will be a couple days before I can apply this chronicle, level, and update Aarion.

![]() |

Alright, I have purchased the consortium compact and am looking it over. I'll give you guys a couple days to get sorted, let me know if there are any purchases you want to make before the next scenario starts and for those of you with day jobs you may give me another roll.
I'll throw up the introduction post on Wednesday unless everyone is ready before then.

If I buy a wand of mage armor and try to keep it up at all times combat is likely, how can we work out how many charges are used? The time elapsed stuff often seems very vague. Mage armor at level 1 (which is what a wand contains) lasts for 1 hour. I know there's a convention that most characters should spend their first 2 PP on a healing wand, but looking at Narika's stats, avoiding damage altogether seems a better idea, and +4 to AC is significant.

![]() |

Hay all, I intend to make some changes with Aarion before I settle in and play his first game at level (2), which will lock him in. I hope everyone is ok with this. With regards to the new evergreen, I am ok with it as well. Looking through my completed scenarios, there are a lot of sessions that I have already played. If for some reason that we start a scenario that I can't receive credit for, I'll role along and try not to spoil the fun.
As fare as this being GM Xynen's first PBP society game, it was well run with what seems like a solid knowledge of the rules. The game had a fast pace, considering the amount of investigation needed to move forward. Overall satisfaction was great!

![]() |

Narika, a wand of mage armor sounds like a good purchase, keeping track of time is a bit tricky, but I will do my best to keep you aware of whether or not the effect is still up so that you can use charges as you see fit. There may be a few surprise combats as we play through scenarios but I will make sure you're not spending every first round using a wand charge.

![]() |

Yah, that's just kind of the gig as a low level mage in PFS, though. I may end up springing for the same wand soon. Until then, I'm just going to use scrolls of Mage Armor and (hopefully) smart tactics to survive. We'll see if it works.

![]() |

I'm thinking of rebuilding Ai a little bit, probably after the next scenario. There's a lot to be said for using the Vexing Daredevil archetype and focusing on single, massive attacks with a weapon like a Lucerne Hammer.
As for purchases, I'll probably be holding off for now on most everything. Just a wand of CLW for the PP.

![]() |

Ok, changes should be complete. I have the background almost finished as well. Gm Xynen, I have added what items i needed to sell and buy on The Wounded Wisp chronicle. I hope this is ok. If you have a chance take a look at what I have added to the chronicle and let me know if I need to correct anything.

![]() |

Looks good to me Aarion.
So I've got Aarion and Talon's purchases on their sheets, so that's covered.
I'll mark the 2pp spent for Narika (wand of mage armor) and Ai (wand of CLW) on the next scenario chronicle.

![]() |

I'm going to move the time table up a bit, unless Ollo or Tao say they need more time I'll throw up the first post tomorrow morning we can get started

![]() |

Nope we are good over here. Typically, I only really go shopping if something is direly needed or when I level. I will make a suggestion though. If someone is willing to help me with healing, I will use 2 pp to get a wand of Bless to use for everyone.

![]() |

I can use my wand for other peoples' healing. Just so you're not taking hundreds of points of damage, is all.
I'm personally fine with starting either sooner or later. I'm currently dealing with computer issues (laptop is in the shop), so I may be a bit more spotty than I'd like, but I can post at least 1/day.

![]() |

If there is a particular reason related to how I ran the game please PM me. Thanks for playing.

![]() |

Having lost Tao I'm not sure how the rest of you feel but I think moving forward with just the 5 of you should be just fine.
If you'd prefer I look for a 6th player before we get into the meat of this scenario let me know.

![]() |

It should be ok either way. For the long hall, I don't think finding a sixth player would be a problem. There are a lot of people jumping at the bit to get into something like this. The fact that we are continuing play is a big plus, and so fare you have done a much better then average job at GMing. Ultimately it is your call.

![]() |

I'm fine either way. We have Narika who can sub for the loss in AoE by picking up a few scrolls of Burning Hands.
I think Aarion's right that we'd likely be fine with 5, but we'd also likely have an easy time picking up a replacement given how new this Scenario is.
I'd be that if we posted a recruitment in Flaxseed (and even gave some general guidelines on preferred class to flesh out our team), we'd have multiple responses pretty quickly.
