I had to dump my cookies and clear the cache. I was also given a notice that there was a data breach at about the same time the storm took paizo's servers offline. I'm not sure if it was a flase positive, or if someone breached paizo's security during their repair

Either way, it's probably a good idea to run a security scan on your computer, and change your password.

Thanks. There shouldn't be any actual danger. Temperatures aren't bad here, and I'm well stocked in case of a long power outage. The communication grid here is just notoriously unreliable. The first wave of the storm hit this morning and knocked out the internet for most of the area. I'm unaffected right now, but that could change anytime.

I don't think that'd really matter in terms of the Beast: he CAN'T be healed through magic, if I understand correctly.

I'm taking some poetic license with how summoners usually work, but I'm not arbitrarily granting a summoned creature telepathy. If the earth elemental notices anything, it will have to get Judah's attention some other way.

This seems like a pretty important roll not to fail. Is Aid Another allowed?

If we do fail, we might want to consider hiring a local investigator to do the legwork for us. I bet the lawyer knows a few.

This is reaaaaally round about. Fair enough it's an investigation story but this is poor writing from Paizo in my opinion. It's multiple chances to fail. One failed roll across a chain of rolls? One poorly worded inquiry and poof... nothing.

No shade on WhKnt but if I ever get around to running this? I think I may simplify this some.

Yeah, that's a big reason why gumshoe sequences don't work well in Pathfinder. It's one of the weaknesses of the system.

There's a bunch of GM advice threads on how to handle it. Most of them advise taking a "no way to fail" approach to anything that is key to moving the plot forward. (adding complications or penalties for failed rolls, rather than just completely losing the trail of the mystery, seems to be the consensus)

Between the 3 elementals I used for surveillance earlier, and the 2 I'm using in this fight, I'm rapidly running out of minions to summon later.

GM, what do you think about using a block initiative system for future battles? They tend to speed things up in PBP games.
