Okay, I've posted the applicants. Which ones do you guys like? (Since I originally said that there were two slots, I'll take two in addition to someone taking over Cass.) My personal choices are the druid and the changeling, but I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.

Apologies,where are they posted

The Changeling in particular stands out. Looks like a great fit for the themes of the adventure without going overboard. One of the things I enjoy most about this game is the (mostly) subtle way we've approached our characters' dark sides.
The Druid also looks like a good fit, but I'm concerned her strengths might not shine very often. She would have been a huge asset during the swamp section, but other than that the whole game has been urban or dungeon environments.
So I think she'd be a great pick as long as she knows ahead of time that there's not a lot of nature stuff in this game. That would give her the chance to adapt into a more urban druid schtick, or lean into the fact that she's out of her element. (A trope inverted Babe-In-The-Woods could be a great character theme if she's into it)
TL;DR: Changling, big yes. Druid, yes but we should give her the chance to make changes to her character after she finds out more about the game.
Lorant Endronil
I vote Cassandra first and foremost. The first time I tried to play in a Carrion Crown game my character actually was a changeling, and Lorant kind of evolved from her, so I have a bias there.
I also feel Dylan would also hit some of the other kewl spooky tropes this AP revels in, with lycanthropes and possession (though demonic instead of ghostly like Eleanora used to be).

Since Cassius isn’t a new character, should he be helping in the current fight?
Since Cas hadn't been posting much, he was sent off to get horses for the evidence cart. Not sure how far he's gotten since then. This fight happened pretty much right after jobs were given out. All that's happened is Judah checking the ladder and trapdoor for traps and opening the trapdoor, then getting bit and running away for help.
Cas definitely isn't far away, but I'm not sure he's close enough to know there's a fight happening. If you want to get him into the action, we can come up with a reason for him to not have left yet. Maybe he was helping Lorant with one of the heavier evidence boxes or something.

That's fine, you can jump right into the fight and we can retcon the reasoning. I think they can use your support. Shoot me an initiative roll and I'll add you to the roster.

Thank you all for the votes of confidence and I'll try not to disappoint. Good luck and happy gaming.

Hi friends, after the fight is over, here is a quick mechanical TLDR of Dylan:
--Frontline fighter, using his claws and a bite while shifted and Bloodraging, polearms otherwise
--Unusually high will save due to spiritualist dip
--I have access to both the spiritualist and the bloodrager spell list UMD wise, so I can use a lot of wands relatively well, but I dont currently have any on me because I invested a lot into my totally not at all suspicious and demonic family heirloom of an amulet of mighty fists.
In terms of dark sides: Arrogance, wroth, Lust, manipulativeness and secrecy would all fit, with a guaranteed side serving of Paranoia and parental abandonment. I will go through the gameplay thread to make sure it will be without overlap (lets keep our dark sides varied :) and of an appropriate intensity.
Judah Locke
That's going to be useful. Cas and Lorant are good in a fight, but i'm not sure I'd describe either of them as tanky. We're also very low on gear and magic items for our level, so it's good that you come with your own.
GM, for ease of intigration, would it be possible for any of the original crew to have met either of our new recruits before?
Dylan ap Dryffed
Dylan is a mercenary background wise, specializing in personal protection on account of being incredibly hard to mind control.
It could certainly be that any of you met him before in this capacity.
I am uncertain which of the characters already established has the highest likelihood of knowing mercenaries.
Oh, given his natural attack fighting style, a PC who has seen him go serious would be great. It is sometimes awkward to explain Yes, I can grow claws and fangs, no, I am not a were creature, no, I will not eat you during full moon, yes, I do as a matter fact fully control myself while shapeshifting, no, I do not have resitance to weapons that arent silver, I effing wish I did.
Dylan ap Dryffed
Question, HP, is it max and then roll?
If so:
Level 1: 10 hp +2 (con)
Level 2: (Spiritualist) hp: 1d8 ⇒ 8 +2 (con)
Level 3: (Bloodrager) hp: 1d10 ⇒ 1 +2 (con)
Level 4: (Bloodrager) hp: 1d10 ⇒ 8 +2 (con)
17/28, 3 more then half, can work with that!
Total HP =12+10+3+10=35

We've been taking the average for hit points, exactly as in PFS play. It just makes things easier.
I have no issue at all if one of you wants to "know" them. It would greatly ease integration.
Mentioning it, you guys are really low on resources for your level. I think I'm going to allow the current players to buy up to their WBL in goods to help even things out. We can say that you found them among the things that you have recovered.
Judah Locke
Finally, an opportunity for Judah's less-than-legal background to be relevant. :D
As soon as we're done with the fight and are ready to leave I'll start the new gear aquisition scene.
Dylan ap Dryffed
Sure, adjusting hp!
Dylan is now at 18AC and 32 HP, making him I would say the "tankiest" but not by much. He will hit very hard, but the other martials will catch up in I think 2 more levels when they get their iterative.
Cassandra Blackmoore
Still here, just waiting to see if we need to roll up a new party or will the calvary arrive in the nick of time.
Dylan ap Dryffed
From what I understand, the heroes are currently acting in Lepidstadt, as de facto attorneys of a certain "Beast Of Lepidstadt" and have uncovered Norgoberite assemble of creepy murderous fae as well as creepy murderous other a%$#@@@*s. They are currently engaged in combat with 2 snap jaw homunculi, ironically enough after defeating their main antagonists and taking them captive I believe.
A figment of Dylans imagination
Oh my, hello here! I wonder if I can convince Dylan to manifest me by singing very loud powermetal in his brain! Says Dylans inner voice
Again? Seriously, I can sing better then you and I am partly a Cat
Answers the Dylan, with a mental shrug and "here we go again" look on his face

She sings in debatable quality.
Honestly, your singing is progressively losing its usability as an improvised sonic weapon and tranisitioning to being merely bad but, Yikes, the more you do this "I am a Nocticula Worshipper, please burn me on a pyre" the less likely I am to manifest you. Besides, most actually dangerous things would just crush you, with ease.
Dylan ap Dryffed
Just noticed there is a Phantom Ally feat that would make the phantom a fairly reasonable combatant, and I could pick it at level 5 hmmm.
I didnt plan to actually manifest the phantom much, but reading the gameplay thread got me some ideas, it seems pretty fun for everyone.
Dylan ap Dryffed
Weird, I could have sworn there was a campaign trait in Carrion crown that made the professor interested in my Bloodline (the effect was that my Bloodline class counts as 1 or 2 levels higher for its effects, but not for when I unlock them, up to my character level), but I cant find or locate it.

In case you missed it, your character had been introduced in the game. She

Unfortunately my laptop has taken this opportunity to take a dump. What started out as just a few keys not working correctly progressed to half the keyboard going out and finally to it not working at all.
Best Buy was worse than useless and for what a local shop wants to charge me I might as well buy a new one, which is exactly what I'm going to do.
I should be up and running again this weekend.
Mathus Kohlheim
My shifts have DRAMATICALLY shifted. I am STILL very much playing, but posting may be affected.
Judah Locke
I think as long as Cassiel doesn't have a problem borrowing/renting a horse, we can do the rest of this scene with a GM wrap-up montage.
Hopefully we aren't late to the trial.

I wish that I knew what is up with the other newcomer. I know that they were having some computer trouble and it may not be cleared up yet.

I'm going to ask for a pass for a couple of days. I found out today that my best friend since high school committed suicide on Thursday. When we didn't see him at our Friday night game and couldn't get him on the phone, my wife and I went over to check on him today and found out. Please grant me a few days to process this.

I understand - I had the same thing happen to me, although that was 30 years ago. I am still amazed how much it affected me, and some days still does. Take your time and talk with others - the talking really can help, I think.
