"Whoa, rest here for the night? Are you really considering that?" Halara looks offended, and her tone is a bit higher then before. "The city was under attack! We are lucky to be alive! We should try to get up there to help, not to hide here! We have many hours before we are unable to walk anymore, and we're not getting close to the exit right now."

"You may be a great warrior with inexhaustible potency, but I am not. I have used all of the with which gifts that Irori has blessed me. We need to return to the surface, but we will help know one if we rush and meet something that we cannot overcome in our weakened state. We have all experienced a great shock. I need time to process this and prepare for what comes. I also wish to give thanks to the gods for our survival. Eight hours of rest will not kill you, but their lack might kill us."

Nau's voice does not change as he calmly re-explains his position, but he doesn't sound like he is budging either.

After the undead dwarf's body is burned, Nau will begin to clean the temple and attempt to re-consecrate it as an act of thanksgiving for his survival. He does not ask for aid, but he will include all those who wish to join.

Halara takes on the argument, and now she's definitely decided to make the party move forward:
"Of course they will not kill... US! But there are people up there who need our help! Who might be fighting for their lives, while we're hiding like cowards down here! The group is still in a good shape. We have most of our defensive and offensive power still available, but you have depleted your gifts, and so you want the whole group to stop? How selfish! As much as we know the exit could be just around the corner!"

She looks around, checking who is hurt, but finds no one aside from Alexis, whose leg could not be healed by simple magic. She spots Horgus and restarts the argument, provoking the follower of Irori. "Next time try not to waste all your positive energy just because someone screams he's important and will offer you gold." She draws her spear and moves out of the temple and a few steps back on the track, maybe to take on guard duty, or just to be alone for a moment, who knows?

Nau doesn't engage with her unbalanced tirade. She has clearly been effected the most by these traumatic events. Perhaps enforced rest will bring her calm.

You realize that the pouch itself isn't magical but it contains two potions of Cure Light Wounds inside.

Perception:

There isn't much else to notice about this temple besides that it is [pretty run down.


Avarshanel shakes his head.

"I don't worry about starting fires, so I have nothing prepared that would assist with that."

Avarshenal allows himself to be taken to a seat in the temple.


Anevia seems very quiet in the temple, and doesn't say anything about staying or leaving she seems to have her mind on something else.

She is a little afraid of how far this temple has fallen.


Horgus looks at the temple, and at everybody else gathered there.

"While it goes against my honor to say the least. I must agree with Halara. We should keep moving, but maybe we can leave a few of us here as it is much safer than out there. Those of us who are faster can get out of here, and go get help for the others after we deal with the demons topside."

Using a flint and a tinderbox, Nau lights the remains on fire.

"Well, there is another path heading somewhere else. We passed through it a few minutes ago. I guess there was not enough light for you to see it. I'll certainly not sleep on a temple where a dwarf turned into an undead."

This woman is manipulative and unpleasant. Screams, insults, and now threats -- will she cease at nothing to have her way? Complying with this madwoman, will only damage her spirit more.

"It was not this place that turned him into an undead. It was his blasphemy and his betrayal of his faith. And of your plan to heedlessly rush back to the surface, you do not know how far the way is, or if there is another place so easily defended to rest. Who would you help if you made it back to the surface weakened and exhausted only to be slain by the demons who, if you were better prepared, you could have defeated?"

Turning to the rest of the group Nau continues, "We have all suffered a great shock today. For the sake of our own well-being, and for those whose our continued well-being could aid, I entreat you to rest. Calm your minds. See to the needs of your bodies. Return to balance. And, if you desire, help me to clean this temple in thanksgiving to the gods for our continued survival."

Calm down, he's just a coward. He is scared and in shock. No shortcuts, you're not their leader. Look for allies!

Halara seems angry with the man, but she keep her feelings away from her voice when she talk to the others. "I cannot prepare myself better being in this place, nor will I get exhausted for walking a couple of miles, but I guess we all have our reasons, so" - she raises a hand - "I vote we move forward." The woman looks at the half-orc next, knowing he has manifested his desire to move forward.

Thorst steps forward this time. "We have a few scratches from the dwarf and have travelled for little more than an hour at most, though without the sun to be a guide I can't be exact. We should keep moving, get back on the right track and head toward the surface."

He goes back inside to check on Anevia. "I think we will be leaving soon, I hope a short rest did you good. My armour isn't the most comfortable thing to be pushed against..." He looked around at the room, he always seemed to ramble too much around pretty women, orcs or humans. "Are you ok?"

"I do agree with going if we have a place to go though. Should tidy up the place a bit though. No sense in leaving a once holy temple in a lesser state then what we found it. We should prioritize getting out of the tunnels though Nau, you never know how sturdy the walls are."

After giving his opinion on the matter, he continues to clear any debris that may be apparent by the altar. Making it somewhat presentable if another group happens upon the building.

"The dwarven god may not be mine personally, but gods in themselves still deserve respect, whether not they observe it is up to them."

Finishing up at the altar, he looks into his bag and takes a quick sip of the wine that he had procured at the market. He hands the bottle towards Thorst, may be a bit more expensive than what you are accustomed.

Did I fail to convince the NPCs with my Diplomacy check?

"Rushing off without resting is foolish. Halara may speak the loudest, but that does not mean hers is the voice to follow."

To save us all a lot of time on the back-and-forth, I can tell you that Nau currently believes that neither Thorst nor Halara respect the gods; that they are both bullies; that given the attention Thorst is showing Anevia while injured -- but, telling, not showing to the blinded mage -- coupled with his strange possessiveness of her suggests that he may be a sexual predator; and, finally, that Halara may be insane.

This leads him to three conclusions. First, that he will not submit to their bullying, which would color future interactions. Second, that he will not go anywhere with them in his weakened state in case they turn violent. Third, that he will not trust Halara's judgment given that she may be insane. All these conclusions lead him to his present actions. Clean the temple. Reconsecrate it to honor the gods. Rest so that he is not in a weakened state. He isn't budging

Halara approaches Nau, trying to make amends, already knowing the end of the story. "Nau, I'm not sure how much you know about religion, but this temple is abandoned. We've showed the Torag enough respect already, getting this place rid of that undead creature, and cleaned up a little bit, but this is not my faith, not even yours. We've done the best we could in this short time, but we don't need to rest now and certainly don't have the resources to reconsecrate the place, as it would require a months of praying, and some holy materials as holy water."

"Me, Golradir and the guard have voted to push forward. The noble also wants to push forward, although he is not the best kind of person. You want to rest for a long time and Valkyrie wants to rest for a short time. Alexis and Aravashnial will go with whichever we choose. I think that's 4 against 1, or 2 at max. We will leave the place in half an hour."

And now she definitely moves outside the building and a few steps back the way the party came.

You may try to "reconsecrate" the place as best as you want Nau, without daily prayer over a long time it will be the same, unless you've got some 1000 PO to make it permanent, and of course, you are a cleric of 3rd level...

The entire shrine is glowing with magic.

Woah. That's an extreme way to read thorst' actions. Remember at the first i offered to lead the elf aswell but Golradir stepped in and took care of that. So he has left the to the elfs care.

I agree it is extreme and uncharitable as well, but it is not an unreasonable interpretation given that he met the both of you a short time ago in a traumatic and stressful way and that both of you have tried to take charge with insults and implied threats. Nau isn't willing to let himself be bullied by people who he believes want him to be defenseless and unprepared for the dangerous unknown when all he wants is eight hours to recover and honor the gods. People who if they become too injured or weakened will be easy pickings for monsters and demons. It isn't like he is setting up a morlock colony down here.

No one has made threats though(implied or actual). It makes sense to travel for more than 1 hr in a day.

It makes sense to rest when you are out of spells. It would be like telling you that we were unconcerned about your hit point total or ability to rage where they exhausted.

Halara, on the other side, is thinking Nau is clearly insane and stupid, that he likes to judge others after a couple seconds, and that he knows nothing about religion. I would say that we would proceed and leave you behind, then you might catch us later when you were rested, since most of the party wanted that way, but whatever, play your character as wish. I'm not holding this discussion one post longer.

So, NAU, post whenever you want to leave this building, whether in 8 minutes or 8 hours, I don't care.

ONE more thing. GM shall decide this, but aren't per day spells... PER DAY? You couldn't get more spells if you rested during the day. That would be getting your spells twice per day. Seems like this stop wiuld achieve nothing at all anyway.


Current Map

All right recap. You have fallen into a pit with others and have currently started traveling with them. You fought some maggots, and went around the cockroaches avoiding that campsite. You found a bag with supplies inside (cam't remember what exactly, but it did have a potion of CLW, and lesser restoration). Then you continued onward, and got to an intersection. Traveling along a path you found a temple, and discovered a dwarf inside. You slew the dwarf after finding out he was an undead, and then you began to argue about whether to leave, or stay. You discovered 2 potions of CLW on the dwarfs, and a warhammer, and a ring. You do also know that if you used the right resources that you could have Anevia get walking on her own.

Halara will focus on healing Anevia since they stopped anyway. She will use her magic or her knowledge to put the bones back into place and fix them. That means, what do I have to do?

Make a DC 15 heal check, and you can make her a leg brace so she can walk.

With Anevia back on her own two feet again Thorst is glad. He wonders why he didn't think to do what Halara had done.

Halara smiles to the guard, glad that now they have one more pair of hands available to protect the group.

You encounter nothing as the path begins to gradually rise. It takes you about 40 minutes before you reach a cavern with statues in it. You can see stone figures are carved into the walls of this cavern. Each depicts a different crusader clad in armor and wielding weapons, but their carved stone features contain expressions of sadness.

Thorst looks around at the crusaders. "They never won their wars. Even now it seems the forces of evil are again winning. What this place is meant to be I am not sure." Thorst walks up to each one and takes a closer look.

These statues depict some of the very first crusaders who fought the demon menace.

These statues appear to have been carved a long time ago, but they still stand in the caves seemingly untouched by the years.

Pereption DC 22:

There are two creatures currently hiding among the statues seemingly waiting for something.

These are Darkmantles. They can create magical darkness, and are great at grabbing enemies. They don't seem to have any other abilities that you can remember, but they do breed quickly.

Thorst tenses and moves to the centre of the area and waits, ready for any attack but trying to act as if nothing is wrong.

Halara is scared, once again. She tightens her grab on her weird spear, waiting to see if the creatures will come at them. Once they do not, she moves behind Throst. "Are they mean? Do you think we can just pass and let them be?" She touches Throst in the shoulder. "I'm here, in case this place get dark, please don't move much and try not to stab me."

The spear have reach, so they provoke if I happen to see them coming.
