"I don't have anything else that could help you put with your survival. My room should keep me safe as long as you deal with the demons."
Horgus begins walking to his safe room and once he gets there he hands a small bag of gold to the group.

"My safe-room is down the stairs in that door." Horgus points towards a small door to your right.
"Yes I do." Horgus walks up to the gate and unlocks it. "This place should be fine." Horgus then will continue up to the door and unlock that as well.
"How dare insult my family. We have nothing to do with this destruction!"
"My place is closer of course."
"I'm the most important survivor here." Horgus then gets a gleam in his eye. "And you want to protect that woman over there, so why don't we head to my mansion first? It is well protected, and I have a vault there that I can open. Inside is a panic room of sorts, and if we go there right now you can deposit both me and her." Sense Motive DC 21: While Horgus doesn't actually seem to care that much about the woman his offer of safety for her and himself is genuine.
Horgus seems unaffected by Halara's glare. "By the grace of the heavenly lords I think I will not guarantee any such thing. If you lot want to have these monsters running about on the streets that's you desire. I will never help these creatures out, and I will give a full report to whoever still holds the city about what should be done with these monsters." Horgus leaves very little to doubt about what he would recommend to have happen to these mongrelmen.
"You can't actually be thinking of helping these freaks! Look at them they are obviously monsters. Remember what happened the last time you tried to be 'diplomatic'? We were attacked by a crazy dwarf!"
"Yes, well I seem to not be doing anything right now, so why don't you let me help Avarshinal, so that Anevia cam focus on walking without worrying about him leaning on her. It would just be me doing something to help out here." Sense Motive DC 12: Horgus appears to have an ulterior motive besides just helping out Avarshinal.
Horgus on the other hand seems afraid of the small yelling man, and speaks up. "What are you waiting for? He obviously means us harm. Stop him!"
Horgus looks at the temple, and at everybody else gathered there. "While it goes against my honor to say the least. I must agree with Halara. We should keep moving, but maybe we can leave a few of us here as it is much safer than out there. Those of us who are faster can get out of here, and go get help for the others after we deal with the demons topside."
Horgus just sulks and stays to the back of the group.
The human man pulls himself up to his full height. "I am Horgus Gwerm from the Gwerm family. We are one, if not the, most important family of Kenabres. If this demon attack is ever to be recovered from my family is going to be the foremost in dealing with it! My family, and by that same token I, are this city's best hope of recovering from this disaster." |
