Peering at the statues, Golradir commented "Curious things to have underground here. Makes you wonder about the previous inhabitants."

@Nau looking around you are pretty sure that it would take you at least 8 hours of work to get this place clean again even using magic to help, and it looks as if your prayers wouldn't do anything before the temple is cleaned up. You also know the route it would take to get to this temple, so you could find your way back there.

@Those who moved on, in what order are you going to go? Specifically a line up for travel across that line.

So that makes Throst<Valkyrie<Halara<Golradir<Avashnial<Nau<Anevia<D isgusting Noble.

Halara moves after Throst and Valkyrie, but with her long spear on hands she hold her ground (where I've put her in the map) to protect the others if those things come at them.

Then I'll be last in line for a while.

At this moment both the creatures and the group have readied actions so this will be an initiative time. Also Nau isn't there currently as he is trying to clean up the temple on his own.

Sorry forgot to include the creatures AC, touch, Flat footed, and CMD; 15; 13; 13; 13 respectively. I will have Golradir take his turn just to keep things moving along.

Golradir takes a shot with his longbow at monster number 1

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Damage: 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

His arrows unfortunately misses, and skips across the ground, but doesn't break after hitting the earth. 1d100 ⇒ 5

Anevia then pulls out one of her arrows, and lets loose at monster #1.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Her arrow scores a hit across the creature, and causing it to scream out in anger.

Monster #2 will save: 1d20 ⇒ 18

Unfortunately the monster seems unaffected by the spell, and they seem to be angry. Monster #1 focuses and suddenly the area around the creatures is almost night.

Unless you have darkvision the area is now pitch black.

Monster #2 swings its tentacle at Valkyrie.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
CMB Grapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

And latches onto her slightly crushing her in its grasp Now grappled by monster #2. Monster #1 angry at the archer who hit it flies towards Anevia.

Horgus doesn't do anything besides move back, and Avarshinal tries to throw an acid splash at monster #1, but misses due to being unable to pinpoint the creatures location.

The creatures have created some sort of darkness that makes it impossible to see unless you have darkvision. Before it went dark you saw Anevia hit one of the creatures with an arrow, and Golradir miss. Valkyrie also hit one of the monsters with her cestus, but it seemed unaffected by her spell.

After the creatures created darkness #2 grabbed Valkyrie and is currently holding her. The other has flown next to Anevia, but she can't seem to see it.

You can hear the slithering stop, and suddenly there is a flurry of motion at the door. The door doesn't budge for now, but the creatures seem to be pressing up against it.

Thorst see the monsters coming as if in slow motion but everything happening at once. He couldn't stand where he was so he charged the one that was grappling Valkyrie but swings wide in his careful attempt to not hit Valerie

Void, if this campaign is going to get anywhere we need to get moving. DMPC or delay Golradir's action, since he's the only one left to act (Anevia and Horgus are also on you).

Alright since Golradir hasn't responed in a while I just have him delay.

Anevia unable to see tries her best to get away from the darkness.

Withdraw action, and route taken is Clockwise: 1d8 ⇒ 1

Moving straight up Anevia is able to hobble a bit away from the creature, but she doesn't seem to be safe yet.

Horgus on the other hand stays perfectly still trying to keep himself safe. Total defense.

Monster #2 continues to grapple with Valkyrie. Trying to crush her even tighter with it's tentacles.

Grapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Damage: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 3) + 4 = 8

But it fails to get a good enough hold on her, and can't crush her.

Monster #1 continues it's assault versus Anevia, but it cannot seem to get its tentacles around the cast she is currently wearing.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Grapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Avarshinal begins to intone in a deep voice, and a small eddie of magic begins to form next to him.

Valkyrie tried to cast a spell, but it failed due to the creature grappling her.
Thorst tried to cut it away, but missed in his carefulness.
Halara, and Golradir waited for the best moment.
Horgus tried to keep himself safe.
Anevia tried to flee, and Avarshinal is currently bringing something into the darkness.

Thorst steps around the creature to stand behind it from Valkyrie and cuts diagonally in one smooth and powerful swing...

He slices the beast deep.

The monster is completely destroyed by Thorst's attack, and falls to the floor in a bloody mess.

Just a quick question, but why was it +8, +6?

+8 double the bonus I get from strength for two handing. +6 is double the power attack bonus for two handing.

Getting cut loose by Thorst's massive attack Val weaves her magic and cats Daze DC 14 Will on the other beast and then step ups and attack it..

Halara delays again, to let the monsters act since she can't do anything in this darkness.


Current Map

Horgus once again protects himself. While Golradir also begins to guard himself. Both using total defense action.

Anevia begins to try, and make herself smaller so the creature can't hit her. Also, total defense.

Monster #1 attacks ignores Valkyrie as it continues trying to get Anevia.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Grapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Monster #1 hisses in delight as its tentacles grab hold, and begin to squeeze Anevia.

Then Ashvanriel's spell is finished, and those of you with darkvision can see that a hyena is now in the room. It cackles for a bit before you hear Ashvanriel's voice ring out.

"Kill the creature making that hissing sound!"

With Ashvanriel's command the hyena rushes forward at the monster trying to eat it.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Crit?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

And with a hideous crunching sound the creature falls silent.

@ Halara She is not as bad off as Valkyrie is, but she is looking worse for wear. She could probably keep going as long as she stayed in the back. There doesn't seem to be any other effect besides the wound itself.


Anevia looks at the group especially at Valkyrie's wounds.

"Maybe one of those potions we found before could help?"

Halara gently stops you from drinking the potion. "Don't do that, those are precious resources we need to spare for now. I'll heal you."
She approaches and mutters a few low words on celestial and radiance fills her hands, closing the wounds and recovering Valkyrie's health.
Maximize Healing 1/4: 8 + 4 = 12 Points healed.

"I'll keep a look at your wounds Anevia, but you will be fine for now. Just stay at the back, please. Now let's move!"


Current Map

Okay as you move forward. You can see a small campfire and a well-used bedroll, along with a few utensils and tools, sits near another cave opening in the far wall of this cavern.

Perception DC 5:

Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

You can also see a dwarf staring at your group with hatred in his eyes.

As the remains of the creatures fall to the ground Thorst looks around to see if anyone is hurt. Though he can't do much he does go over to do what he can, which happens to be nothing this time as Halara heals Valkyrie. "Ok lets keep moving then if we are all still standing. I'll go first. I looks like a bit of a squeeze up there. One at a time when I give the all clear."

Thorst walks up to the gap in the rocks and sidles through, careful not to get himself caught on any of the rocks. He stands in the open again and takes a look around. Another fallen dwarf? "I don't mean to intrude. I wish to get to the surface, do you know of a way?" He readies himself to bring his weapon up the moment the dwarf starts to get hostile. My patience today is starting to wear thin...
