Divine Favor and Bless coming from Augrym. Then he casts Invisibility on himself right before the group goes to fight.

Unrak rumbles Sounds better to say "discretion is the better part of valor." Kind of like, it's not running away, it's a "tactical retreat."

Quote:
"Brother, rage filled brother friend Unrak seems unwell. These words "ixnay" are not of this world. Is he in need of healing or some sort of exorcism before we go and face this incredibly ugly and vile creature? Is it possible this truly disgusting creature possessed him on our way in and he now speaks in the wretched lobster tongue? I hope this isn't so. To be aligned with a creature that is as revolting as Tess is beautiful, would be a terrible way to lose a brother."

Unrak grins widely. Just be thankful I don't start talking like "dad-a-chick" or something REALLY weird.

The big warrior (having cast both Mirror Image and Long Arm already) then puts in his mean face. I'm ready. Let's get the frak out of here. He strides to take point, greatsword in hand.

My original post to prep the buffing was to have it completed before I left for NYC. I would not have done the talking AFTER otherwise.

"Then let us go out. Toth and our frontline first. Bytor, please hasten us before we leave this room. Xamanthe, only swing your blade as a last resort, as it will foil your invisibility spell. Play it cool and then if violence ensues, encircle the daemon."

Once Bytor casts his spell, we go. Toth is still outside and on the far side. I'll leave him there for now if allowed.

Bytor casts Haste!

The daemon steps forward to intercede as soon as you proceed back down the passage. Its unsettling voice slips into your ears.

Bytor maintains his inspirational presence as he fires his bow from the edge of the fog and tries to hit the daemon.

Inspire Courage +2

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 2 = 12
Piercing Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 2 = 10

He looks around sheepishly, hoping that nobody noticed that he fired the shot before he even took the time to aim.

With the exception of Toth and Augrym, no one else has direct knowledge of the daemon's current location, as it moved away from its last known position before the fog cloud granted total concealment. The elemental can notice its position upon being summoned to its previous known location, and move to the attack, but John and Bytor are shooting at an empty square unless advised differently. Bytor misses regardless, but it matters for John.

Reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 3 FAIL Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

The piscodaemon is battered by the whirlwind, but appears to be otherwise unharmed by it. Toth scratches and bites, adding two small new cuts in the daemon's hardened hide. Crit not confirmed, but close.

Bytor, firing completely blind, nearly shoots himself by accident.

John's blind shots into the fog bank whiz by Augrym and Toth by sheer luck, and only one strikes the daemon. Augrym, on the other hand, cuts deep. VERY deep.
