Zed the Unbroken |

Zed pores over the spellbook, carefully studying the spells - even the ones he already knows - in order to compare the unknown wizard's technique and style. He copies the spells Identify, and Reduce Person into his own spellbook, and makes several notes on his other spells.
He examines the ring, casting Detect Magic on it and the remainder of the cache.
Let's head north... any objections?

Taranis Redleaf |

@Zed, you need to make a spellcraft check for that, but there's a solid chance you can just take 10. @Party, we've got the food for one more hex without a stop at Oleg's (where we should return to a wand.) I agree, let's go North one, then really load up for some big league adventuring.
Zed looks over the wand, casting a spell and looking with the training of his elven eyes Spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25 That should do it.

Zed announces that the wand is a great magical instrument that may belch gusts of flame -- in the right hands, of course. Wand of Burning Hands, CL 2, 4 charges. The ring is masterfully worked, but only silver.
Striking north, the Huntsmen leave the Kamelands behind and once again enter the edge of the Rostlandic plain. The area does not take long to traverse or to document your findings, and the work is done by sundown.
For fully exploring and mapping this hex, each hero earns 20 XP!

"This is a lot of food. perhaps we should make camp and head back to the trading post tomorrow?"

Zed the Unbroken |

ZED looks around, consults with Aurora, and posits that in their weakened state, Oleg's might be a safer haven than a camp in the wilds...

GMTrex |

The Huntsmen take stock of their wounds and the supplies, and patch themselves up as best they can. It is noontime, and there is a hut visible about two miles away from your current location. You have not mapped this hex. What is the plan?

Zed the Unbroken |

"Let us make our way to the hut with all due caution gentlemen. Hopefully it can provide us some refuge from the rather aggressive fauna we have encountered thus far in these wild lands.
Zed confers with Aurora, who has her sharp black eyes, and her sharp black talons, fixed on Zed. Their bond is empathic at this point, rather than conversant, but Zed manages to ask her to scout out the hut and report back if she sees anything that might be alive within.
The lovely Aurora will cast her keen senses upon yonder hut. With a measure of good fortune we will find it unoccupied, and be able to recuperate within its sanctuary for the time being. Upon daybreak, we can finish our exploration of the immediate environs before making our way back to Oleg's fine establishment.
Aurora perception 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28
"One moment, a familiar raptor approaches..." Zed cracks the slightest of grins at his jest, and watches Aurora's flight with interest.

Taranis Redleaf |

"I agree with Zed. Let us check this hut out carefully, then return to Oleg's."

GMTrex |

Aurora's inspection on the matter proves redundant, as even the men can see the thin trail of smoke rising from the structure at this distance. Approaching cautiously from the south, you find an unsophisticated dwelling built of deadfall limbs and caked mud. The smoke rises to the clouds but fills the air with a slightly sweet smell, and someone can be heard muttering over the crackle of a fire inside.

Unrak "Dreadful Bear" Redleaf |

Unrak decides to drop any pretense of stealth...this is a dwelling, and we are the trespassers.
He shrugs at his friends, then calls out in his great voice. Ho there, neighbor! How about a trade--some fresh boar meat, for any news of the area?
