Somehow I channeled Hermione Granger from the first Harry Potter... where they meet Fluffy and get back to their common room.
"I'm going to bed before you get us killed, or worse, expelled."

Zhatara, will that effect activate should I decide to grapple instead?
Here's how it works:
False Flanker: A duplicate of the mesmerist appears momentarily, as though he were fighting in tandem with the subject. The mesmerist can trigger this trick when the subject moves into or begins her turn in a square where she threatens an enemy. An illusory duplicate of the mesmerist appears in any unoccupied space adjacent to that enemy. This duplicate counts as threatening the enemy for the purposes of determining flanking, but can't actually make attacks. The duplicate disappears at the end of the turn during which the trick is triggered. This is an illusion (figment) effect, and a creature that interacts with the false flanker can attempt a saving throw to disbelieve the effect.
I'd say that yes, it works if you start a grapple since the effect takes place at the beginning of the turn. The effect could be disbelieved though (DC15)

I included that +2 for flanking, unless there's an additional +2. My CMB is +6 for grapple, I used +8 that time.

Out of curiousity, does this play from "You have what you hold." Season 5 number 6? Feels like it a little bit.

The scenario doesn't tell me so. But I haven't read or played that one.
I like a lot about "Trouble in Tamran," but I'm seeing a couple of rough patches in the flow of the story that I'll discuss after the adventure is over.

I assume we've discovered everything there is to discover. My question is are the swamps a large area or something that can still be investigated before we meet with Guaril?

If anyone's interessed we've got a couple of open spots for Serpent's Ire run for this year's PbP Gamesday. If some of you would be interessed to join HERE's the link for the game's recruitment's thread.

To comment on the gameplay... I have Violet as a slayer/intimidator. So I'm getting a feeling that she is a person of action. Diplomacy isn't her strong suit and not having the patience for it.
I've never been a player to say "Let's drink/do this and see what happens."
Even my gnome illusionist sorcerer. Cast detect magic into a room, "I highly advise not to go on the rug as I'm getting a conjuration vibe from it. One of the other players went and jumped on the couch (on the rug), which summoned a monster that was hurting good aligned characters. My gnome is chaotic good and she was like "bye, have fun"
Other players looked at me like "What? Why?"
"I told you not to go there and you did anyway. That thing is hurting good people, which I am one. I can't fight it."

I have no problem with it. In fact, I was probably going to have Jerrik drink it, though he was going to try to figure out what the "trick" was, if there is any.

Zhatara, has information gone out about that scenario already? I heard there were going to be restrictions on it (i.e. certain number of GM stars required) but there aren't any details yet. I'm running a 7-00 table, but haven't seen any news about 7-98 yet.

I believe they greenlighted 7-98 to start being played earlier. I'm playing it for a core charatcer right now and the GM said the admin gave his OK

No worries... Cub Game will keep me distracted.

I get the impression we're due for some combat shortly.. The place seems too empty.
I hope our party of four is able to handle it!
