Elery Deverin |

Elery gives Snyk, or at least the shadows Harness indicates, a little wave and a distracted smile. "Can anyone tell which way trouble is coming from? I dread to think of one of those goblins getting hold of a child, or anything really."
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Snyk |

Snyk sidles up next to Harness and sheathes his dagger. "I am here sir."
He's quite improving at his play-on-words
At his introduction Snyk acknowledges the others with a concise bow of his head.
The question for my K:Local would be what are the values or traditions of this tribe of goblins?

Eydor |

Eydor takes a look at everyone, then cleans his scimitar as best as he can from all the goblin blood. Today his weapon did good.
I guess there's no rest wherever you go... Luckily, I'm used to sudden bursts of problems that want to kill you. Or anything in sight.
Name's Eydor, by the way. And we should hurry and help if there's still more trouble. But first, we should try to know why there's trouble in the first place.
He then crouches and takes a look at the goblins, inspecting them a bit and trying to discern what is going on, or if they have anything of any value.
Percepcion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

GM Sphen |

@Snyk: Goblins value: killing anything they can, but especially dogs and horses; eating anything they can, especially pickles; and burning anything they can, especially fireworks.
@Eydor: You find ragged leather armor, busted short swords, molded rations.
@Elery: Don't worry, trouble is coming your way.
As you all take a moment to catch your collective breath and introduce yourselves, you see the church doors crack open and Father Zantus' head peek out. As he begins to step out, a new sound is head. The banging of a war drum is followed by the verses of the song you heard earlier.
GOBLINS CHEW AND GOBLINS BITE
GOBLINS CUT AND GOBLINS FIGHT
STAB THE DOG AND CUT THE HORSE
GOBLINS EAT AND TAKE BY FORCE
Goblins race and goblins jump.
Goblins slash and goblins bump.
Burn the skin and mash the head.
Goblins here and you be dead!
Coming out from around the corner, more goblins approach, one of them riding on a strange, hairless dog. Father Zantus yelps in surprise and quckly slams the door shut as you all notice this new threat and they take obvious notice of you. Their mouths spread into wide, toothy grins as they brandish their weapons.
Keeping the same initiative, the goblins spend their turn moving onto the map.

Elery Deverin |

"Bad enough you killed a dog, now you are trying to sound like strangled cats! You wretched mumbling monsters!" Elery shouts, still unable to shale the image of one of these little perverts getting hold of a child.
She hurries forward and thrust her spear at the closest creature sinking her spear into its stomach before once again enlarging herself, in a burst of surging vines, to tower over its fallen form.
Glowering down at the goblin rider on its grotesque hairless dog,
"Come on then you ugly little so and so!"
Longspear: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Longspear AOO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13
Move 20ft., attack, then swift action enlarge. Enlarged after the attack because otherwise she would have been too close to attack the first goblin. Reach now 20ft. so it seems very likely the goblin on dog will provoke an attack of opportunity so I will go ahead and roll it.

Girnt |

Girnt moves forward, already placing another arrow to the string. Sighting the mounted goblin, Girnt recognizes that it is probably higher ranked than the rest. Sighting it down his bow, he lets his first arrow fly.
Move Action to get closer with clear los.
Standard Action to fire at the mounted goblin.
Arrow: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 2 = 9

Harness |

The sound of Harness' head turning is reminiscent of a portcullis raising. He eyes the new threat, and moves immediately. With Marauder jangling at his hip, the warforged seamlessly draws out a javelin and hurls it at the mounted goblin...
Can someone move Harness to diagonally in line with Elery and Girnt? So, the top right of Girnt. Harness can move 20'...
Move Action: Move 20', draw javelin.
Standard Action: Throw!
Shwee!!!: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 + 1 = 20 [+1 Str, +1 BAB]
Skitch!!!: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 [+4 Str]

GM Sphen |

I'm going to wield my mighty GM powers to alter some of these actions. Notably, if this was a game in real life, you guys would know when an opponent goes down and direct your attacks elsewhere. So, flavor text and moving some targets with the flavor text will happen once everyone takes their turns, but the goblin dog and rider are both down. Feel free to attack other targets.

Inkmaster Fela |

More? Where are all these goblins coming from?
Fela rushes toward one of the tents in the market, getting a better line of site on the two goblins in the back and pulls the trigger of her crossbow one more time.
Shooting at whichever goblin in the back is closer.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2

Snyk |

Seeing the goblins approach, Snyk starts to rummage around in is pack.
It just so happens...
Move action use Pack Rat to draw a jar of pickles.
Snyk steps forward and lobs the jar into the clearing causing it to shatter and spread pickles all over the ground.
5ft step and standard action to toss the jar
Now we see if they take the bait

Eydor |

Should've known they always come in more than a single pack...
Move Action: Move to the bottom left square of Elery
Standard Action: Ready attack with Scimitar in case any goblin comes in range

GM Sphen |

Starting with a decision die roll for the pickles, high roll and they go for it.
Pickles: 1d20 ⇒ 19
What do you want to be that no one has ever rolled for pickles before?
The two goblins to the far side of the cart rush forward and begin to pick up as many pickles as they can, stuffing them into their face. Their attention completely on getting as many as possible before the other one. They are effectively flat footed.
With a series of blows from Harness, Elery, and Girnt, the goblin war chanter and it's mount go down, hard, and do not stir.
His blood riled, and unable to see his comrades competing for pickles, the third goblin steps forward with his dog slicer to hack at the over sized form of Elery before him.
Goblin Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
His blade goes wide and he seems stunned at his own inadequacy.
END OF GOBLIN TURN, EVERYONE ELSE IS UP

Girnt |

Seeing the goblins distracted, Girnt turns and takes a shot at one.
Shooting at the lower goblin by the pickles.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6

Harness |

"Well done Snyk!" cries Harness as he likewise seeks to take advantage of the beasties' gluttony - drawing Marauder again the heavy warforged runs at the other goblin and attempts to hit it clear over the nearest building...
Round 2
Full Round Action: Draw weapon, charge....
Charging northern goblin by pickle jar, -2 to AC until end of round...

Elery Deverin |

As her new comrades attack Elery moves up dwindling as she does so, and thrusts out with her spear at any goblin still moving. But instead she manages to catch her spear up in some bunting and has to hurriedly disentangle her weapon as she flushes crimson.
Longspear: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Inkmaster Fela |

Frustrated with herself, Fela drops the crossbow.
Useless.
Then she extends a pointed finger at the nearest goblin as an icicle forms and shoots out in the direction of the town intruder.
Ray of Frost vs Goblin's touch (if still alive)
Ray: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Snyk |

Snyk draws another freshly sharpened dagger from its sheathe. He rolls to line up his shot and hurls hit at the last remaining goblin.

Eydor |

Guess they trust me to finish the job by myself
Move Action: Move to te lower left square of the goblin

Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 +4 · 1,5 = +6 STR, +1 Enh
With a clean hit using both of his hands in his already blood soaked scimitar, Eydor dispatches the last goblin with a swift move that the poor goblin can't react to.
Eydor then turns to the rest of the party
You really had to leave me alone with this one? I think two distracted goblins eating pickless don't need THAT much attention... Well, anyways, who cares.
Eydor cleans his scimitar using the back of the goblin, pausing for a moment, then looks again at them
Any ideas where all this is coming from before anything else interrupts us? Is this the usual?

Elery Deverin |

Tugging the last of the bunting from her spear Elery shakes her head, "I have never seen goblins in the town before. They lurk about down by the rubbish tip and steal garbage sometimes, and you hear stories of worst out in the wilds and on the roads, but I thought most of those were overblown... That's why I promised Grandpa I would wear this smelly armor."
Glancing about she seeks out any other sights or sounds that might indicate goblin activity, but is too distracted by her own worry to take things in clearly.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Girnt |

"Not at all," Girnt informs them. "There are several local goblins tribes around here, but none of them would be able to pull off an attack like this. Not alone."

GM Sphen |

At the moment, none of you see any more goblins or new fires. As you once again take a moment to catch your breath, you are also once again interrupted. With even less time this go around, a man wearing once fine clothes comes sprinting into the square and ducks behind a tent. Looking around frantically, he spots you all grouped together on the other end of the square. His eyes are wide and full of terror as he reaches out a pleading hand.
Help me! he says in a loud whisper. They've been chasing me all over town, tormenting me. Please, help me. As he finishes his sentence, another mounted goblin enters the square, pausing to search out his prey. As he looks about, 3 more goblins come in on foot and set swords to do battle with this new lot of what they assume to be towns folk. One of them hungrily eyes the pickle jar on the ground near you. The man shrinks back behind the tent, obviously terrified.
New combat, same initiative. Once again, the goblins spend their first turn arriving onto the field of battle.

Girnt |

Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
"From their weapons and appearance, I believe these goblins are actually from different tribes, though I would need time to determine which. Shaelu would know more," Girnt informs them before the man comes running into the square.
Moving into action, Girnt starts toward the goblins, sending an arrow in advance at the mounted goblin. How many more are there?
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 + 1 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Harness |

Away from computer - can someone move Harness?
Harness finishes watching the goblins expire, then turns at the sound of the well-dressed man's screams.
"Damn them!"
The warforged rushes toward the new threat, the heavy flail in his hands jangling as he moves.
Round 1
Full Round Action: Run 12 squares east.
In line with/ same column as the steps up to the platform, in the same row Harness is in now - heavy armor is 3x base speed for Run action...

Elery Deverin |

"Blood and mumbling ashes!" Elery mutters, following Harness's lead, and rushing past him before exploding upwards in a mass of vines. With her new towering height the she is able to extend her spear between the man and the goblin rider.
Full round action to Run then swift action Enlarge.
Longspear AOO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Inkmaster Fela |

Fela lets out an exhaustive sigh, running back across the other side of the market square.
"Blood and mumbling ashes!" Elery mutters.
"I'll second that. How many of these cursed things are there?"
Double move.

Eydor |

Where the hell are all the goblins coming from, and why aren't they afraid of us when we killed so much of them already? I shouldn't have cleaned my blade yet to show them...
Full Round Action: Run!

GM Sphen |

The mounted goblin twirls his blade and yells
CHASE THE BABY, CATCH THE PUP.
BONK THE HEAD TO SHUT IT UP.
BONES BE CRACKED, FLESH BE STEWED.
WE BE GOBLINS. YOU BE FOOD!
Mounted Goblin
Bow Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Charging Goblins attacking Elery.
Charge Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Charge Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
The third and final goblin has to double move to get into range and doesn't have a clear line of charge. Or at least, not one that he is smart enough to find. The mounted goblins arrow streaks past and thuds into a nearby tent pole. But the other two both land hits, doing a combined total of 7 damage to Elery.

Girnt |

Hearing the goblin's command, Girnt continues forward for a clear shot and shouts, "Khruur oc or dar!"* The harsh language is a bit grating on the tongue, but satisfying to see the reactions nonetheless.
Move to get closer and a shot at the mounted goblin.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 25
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9

Harness |

Harness hears the dark speech, and knows it means ill for him and his companions.
"Hurry Snyk!" Harness yells over his shoulder, quick-trudging past Girnt and drawing his last remaining javelin as he does so. The warforged stops on the steps to the platform and boldly hurls the spike toward the mounted goblin. Perhaps the uneven stance fouled his aim - the javelin, though thrown with great power, misses by a mile... The warforged utters an unintelligible cry of frustration.
Move Action: Move 20', draw javelin.
Standard Action: Throw!
Zwoar!!!: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4 [+1 Dex, +1 BAB]
Shtung!!!: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 [+4 Str]
Free Action: Yell/curse.

Elery Deverin |

Elery tries to take advantage of the goblins opening, but strikes out clumsily and cannot catch either nimble creature. Grunting in pain as she is skewered she steps back and grasps her holy symbol calling upon Erastil and chanting a cure spell to heal her wounds, leaving only a few traces of blood on her scale mail.
AOO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
AOO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Inkmaster Fela |

Anger and rage swell inside Fela, and she lets it course through her, as she steps to the side of the man fighting beside herEydor and sends all of her anger out of her hands in searing cone of flame goblin-ward.
"Here! You like fire, eat this!"
Burning Hands on the goblins in a row next to each other. Reflex DC=16 for 1/2 Damage.
Burning Hands: 3d4 ⇒ (2, 4, 2) = 8

Eydor |

Eydor takes a glance at Fela, noticing her lack of protection and her recklesness in her actions
I hope she burned at least one of them, or this is going to hurt
Without pausing for a moment, he steps right in front of her, taking a more defensive stance and trying to fell one of the goblins that might still be alive.
Swift action: 5ft Step

Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 +4 · 1,5 = +6 STR, +1 Enh
Lucky for him, his great aim today lets him finish off one of the surviving goblins in a swift and non expected slash that catches him off guard because of the fire.
It's the 3rd time I get a critical threat without confirming. I have mixed feelings :(

GM Sphen |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Goblin's Reflex Save 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Goblin's Reflex Save 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Goblin's Reflex Save 3: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
When Fela blasts fire from her hands, two of the goblins grab the third and use him as a tiny meat shield for the flames. The one in the middle is so distracted by the bright and beautiful flames that he doesn't even notice the other two half duck behind him. He is, however, quickly distracted by his face melting off from the force of the fire.
Eydor seizes his chance to quickly and efficiently dispatch one of the other goblins, neatly removing its head from its shoulders.
The remaining goblin takes heart from having scared off Elery and apparently shrunk her somehow and takes a swipe at Eydor.
Goblin Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
But he once again fails to connect and takes a step back with some concern finally showing in his eyes.
The mounted Goblin Commando responds harshly to Girnt: Or dar unk akey bolun forkosh amealan otuk, or faruk!
Unable to see how poorly his minions are faring, he guides the dog around the steps as he draws a bead on Harness.
Ride: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Shortbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

And the arrow strikes Harness in the shoulder, but clinks off without penetrating to any of his soft(ish) parts.
Elery, you automatically pass this Perception check due to your location.
Down to two goblins and a cowering man. Everyone is up.

Girnt |

The giant spout of flames proves to be rather distracting for Girnt as well, as he flinches and ends up sending the arrow far into the air and nowhere near the laughing goblin target.
Just magic. Just magic, Girnt tries to reassure himself as he reaches for another arrow.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9

Elery Deverin |

Narrowing her eyes Elery levels her spear at the nearby goblin and lunges forward burying her spearhead into the creatures throat!
"Cut me you little mumbler."
Longspear: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Harness |

Going to ignore the Perception check - Harness is well focused on his tactical battle of wills with the mounted goblin...
Harness smiles in grim satisfaction as the malevolent beastie's arrow plinks off his armored carapace. The warforged's eyebrows narrow, as he calculates the distance to his foe, and tries to determine where Snyk is.
Perception DC 20: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15 ;)
He can't locate the little sneak, but trusts that the ratfolk has moved into an advantageous position.
Time for the Pincer!
Harness makes a break, and charges at the mounted goblin, waving Marauder and doing his best impression of an organic simian - for though he can't quite reach the peskie thing he can at least distract it mightily.
Round 3
Move Action: move 3 squares diagonally north-east. Am I right in that the first square of diagonal movement is 10', and thus Harness can in no way reach the mounted goblin; and I can't use the charge action because Harness would need to change direction for the last square of movement?

Eydor |

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Eydor takes notice of what is happening around him naturally, as he's been pretty used to things going wrong around him when he studied magic in the twilight citadel.
Why on Golarion is he looking at them both so much in such a situation... Sure they are beautiful but... Isn't he a bit busy trying to get his ass out of trouble to be doing that? Hm... I'll think about it later
Could I make any check to see why is he doing that? If I can, you can roll it for me to save time.
Move action: Move (I assume with 12 Damage plus the burning hands the goblin is pretty dead, so no AO from that goblin).
Standard action: Ready action to hit the goblin dog with a two handed scimitar attack if he comes into range
Come on, I've seen far worse in my short life to even be scared of you. Want to feel the same scimitar that killed your pathetic minions? You're outmatched and outnumbered. Get out of here while you can.
Hoping his words end the battle sooner than what would be expected so he can start doing something more useful in town than killing a race that reproduces way faster than he can erase from existence, he readies himself against the goblin leader expecting an attack.

This is not correct. The burning hands killed one goblin and injured the other two (severely). You killed one last round, the other one is still kicking (and screaming). Feel free to reconsider your turn.
You believe that his attention is captivated by the thought of a beautiful warrior woman.

Harness |

Have posted in Discussion re: the death of the third goblin...
Ok, 10,5,5 is the same as 5,10, 5, so I have placed Harness where he should be...

GM Sphen |

Enah shek upak, akova!
The goblin rider is surprised by Snyk leaping from the cover of the stairs, but the "dog" is still able to avoid Snyk's blade. The rider turns his mount past the group (provoking an attack of opportunity from Snyk).
Snyk's AoO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Then, turning to fire, he takes aim at Snyk out of pure outrage at being snuck up on.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
The goblin rider's arrow streaks forward, cutting Snyk's arm as it passes.
I rolled Snyk's AoO to see if the actions take place. Snyk, if this bothers you, let me know and I'll change things around.

It seems we've been going in a random order for a bit now. @GM: Is this okay with you, or would you rather us post in order?

Placeholder of Doom |

Elery hurries over taking up a position next to Girnt, eyes locked on the mounted goblin and its grotesque dog.
Double move.

Eydor |

Too much for intimidation I guess... At least someone is enjoying watching some asses while we're busy killing...
Eydor unconsciously takes a glance at Fela.
... Can't blame him.
Full round action: Double move
I have no idea if I'm adjacent or not to the goblin in that square. In case I'm not, you might move me to the square below me. I still have 15ft of movement left.
Also, if I get an AoO, I'll hit the goblin with a two handed scimitar strike. You can make the rolls for everything you need.
