(in case there is confusion, he opens the door at the end of the hallway.)

TG1 | GW | FF | RH

White Eagle opens the door and looks around into another corridor. Opening the door brings the sounds of the gala close again.

White Eagle:
The ambiance in this room resembles that of the northern corridor with the large red curtain. Doors can be heard opening and closing in the far east as well as directly above north of him. The traffic seems to be pretty regularly coming out of the north door and heading east back to the staging room that the group had just left. There are three doors that he is able to see. The first is southwest of him, the second is on the western wall slightly north of him and the third is north of him.

"I believe our friend Zhoron was right, this embassy is very much a maze. We have choices to make my friends, but I believe we should steer clear of anything that sounds like it is approaching the gathering of the gala. Perhaps we try one of the doors in the hallway we just passed?"

Turning to look at some of the others in the party, Eldak begins pondering potential locations for the room they are searching for.

Based on my best guesses, we should be close by to where we were told the room was located. We need to keep out of areas that will cause us to be seen, but I can only imagine that we are running short on time.

"Lukaas, you seem to have a decent idea of the layout of the building as we have been making progress. What do you think? Perhaps we should split up to cover more ground a little quicker. Maybe myself and our shaman friend can scout up ahead while Gaeldrung provides us some muscle just to be safe? Then the 3 of you can check some of the doors we just passed? Especially since you seem to have a bit of fascination with our lady friend Pollett and are comfortable with Zhoron"

Lukaas chuckles

Sorry to contradict you partially, but I rarely get "decent ideas" when a woman's bedroom is concerned, Eldak. If I can hasard a guess, let's check this door...

He points to the door White Eagle is facing, just across the corridor

...as it is on the southwest part of the building, where the room we seek is supposed to be. If my memory serves well, my friend Zhoron got hold of some keys earlier, lets prepare them in case the door is closed. If we act quickly, we could be beside that door in mere moments.

How much time left?

TG1 | GW | FF | RH

You haven't had any mechanism to track time exactly in place, so I'll tell you it's been roughly 15-20 minutes or so, give or take a few minutes.

A soft touch, like a tickle in your ear turns out to be Venture Captain Amara Li's whispering hushed voice. As it reaches each of you she says, "So far so good, nothing has made it's way back this way yet. I estimate I can hold him for another for-". The voice cuts off abruptly mid-sentence and is gone.

Lets get some perception checks!

Perception DC10:
Doors in the hallway continue to open and close with multiple people talking and working in the hallway. The traffic here seems to be heavier than the other corridors. There is no chance you are going to step into this hallway and not be seen by at least two or more servants.

Perception DC15:
Spoilers above and - You notice the traffic is moving between the eastern most double doors and the northern doors. When the northern doors open you can see dozens of people about a large room which appears to be a reception area of the gala. Almost all servants are carrying something in their hands such as trays of food, wines or coats.

Perception DC18:
Spoilers above and - On the door to the southwest door is a shiny brass plate which reads "Servants Quarters". On the door to the west (the one Lukaas pointed out) there is a spot for a name plate like there is on the south west door, but the name plate has been removed.

Perception DC21:
Spoilers above and - Coat racks full of fancy clothing, cloaks and furs line the wall on the southern wall of the corridor to your north (opposite side of wall in the current hallway). Servants appear to be coming from the northern door with the coats and leaving back through the doors without them or heading off to the eastern double doors. Not a single person is going or heading towards the far western door Lukaas pointed out.

TG1 | GW | FF | RH

Lukaas - Suuuuuree, why not!
Zhoron opens the door to what appears to be a sitting room. He and White Eagle quickly make their way into the empty room, vacating the hallway.

Room description for Zhoron and White Eagle:
The furniture in this luxurious sitting room is covered by drop-cloths, and buckets of paint sit against walls where erotic murals are in the process of being replaced by a neutral institutional taupe. An enormously tall gilt frame leans against the wall. A door to the east leads to a hallway, while to the southwest a door is propped open by a bucket and displays the half-dissolved inscription, “Where Love Comes to Die.”

Inspecting the area quickly reveals a crumpled and roughly folded canvass with a full-length artistic rendition of Zarta in scanty red apparel, along with several other pieces of art apparently considered too lascivious to remain. The open door leads to Zarta’s bedchamber. The bucket holding open the door is full of a mixture of turpentine and varnish.

Gaeldrung and Lukaas step into the void to confront the dazed man as he snaps out of his momentary lapse of focus. The man shakes his head a few times and places his right hand on his temple. He clears his throat and looks between Lukaas and Gaeldrung, confused. "Wha-. Entertainers. Stay away from the guests."

The man is clearly confused. Where was that Shoanti looking figure? Entertainers? How could I have overlooked entertainers?

The man plays along with the bluff, clearly not wanted to look like he doesn't know what is going on here. He places his hands on the shoulders of the two man and gives them a good two shakes. "Of courrrrrrrssssse! The entertainers. You're early of course, that is why I was so confused. You're not scheduled to make your appearance, for what-" The man pauses and thinks as if he is trying to remember a time, "-thirty minutes?"

Entering Zarta's bedchambers, Lukaas sighs and winks at Eldak

We surely don't want to offense Miss Polet's chaste ears, Eldak, even if she stays shy and quiet like a pretty little mouse. But now you have sparked my interest, and I do wonder what your first impressions of me were. I suggest a little chat, with some fine wine, after this adventure. Ho, to be trapped in the embassy's cellar... That looks like paradise for a follower of Caiden!

He gives an exagerated sigh, and watches what remains of the lascivious art
Now, this place rise some other appetites...It's a shame the Chelaxian servants vandalized those walls. Taupe. It's official: now I can't stand this color. Those erotic drawings were surely exquisite!

Lukaas looks at the canvass lenghtily, rolls it carefully before trying to put it into his backpack*, saying to no one in particular

Hey,I need to be able to recognise Lady Zarta if we manage to find her...

Suddenly, he stops, unrolls the canvas and tries to see if it fits into the big gilt frame

Perception check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

*Of course, if he can't put it in his masterwork backpack without damaging the work of art, he will leave it here. Portraits of nude woman are good, but some fellow put his art, his vision into this, and Lukaas respect that!^^

TG1 | GW | FF | RH

From what Lukaas can tell the canvas would fit the frame. The canvas is already folded, so it won't be damaged any further by being placed in his pack.

After Lukaas places the canvas in his back the party listens at the partially open door to the next room. No sounds or activity can be heard and so the door is slowly opened. Peering into the next room you see that this is obviously Zarta's bedchamber.

The extravagant bedchamber is dominated by a massive four-poster bed that takes up half the room. Red-varnished wardrobes and vanities complement the black silk sheets on the bed, which appears to be in the process of being dismantled. The walls of the room have been stripped of
the portraits that once hung there, faint outlines of the art pieces being all that remain. The exception to this is the eastern wall, which is occupied by an elaborate woodcutting depicting but a single nymph in a seductive pose, garbed in nothing but a necklace bearing an amulet shaped like the Asmodean star.

Perception checks!

Perception - DC15:
The woodcutting on the eastern wall is noticeably tamer than the paintings of the sitting sitting room. Closer inspection reveals of the woodcutting reveals that the Asmodean star hanging from the nymph’s neck is actually a keyhole.

Get to the map a little later, busy this morning. The room is essentially 20x20 with an additional 5x15 area at the north side of the room. You are entering through the southwest door of the sitting room and the only obvious exit is the door to the north which when checked will be locked.

Lukaas has no clue about what type of fiend just assaulted his mind. Probably because his mind was focused on resisting the mental attack of the spawn from another plane. With bravado, he retorts

It takes more than a Chelaxian's hellish pet's order to get me out of a woman's bedroom!

Lukaas put a silvered bolt into his crossbow, waiting for an opportunity to strike, still dizzy and slow from the fiend touch on his brain

Zhoron, use the silvered sword I gave you! This should do the trick!

I made an error on the previous map. The imp that attacked Zhoron would have had to be on the same square as he since they are tiny and have 0 reach. So he would have 5' into his square before he could sting him. So in this case I'll have each of the two devils end their previous moment 5' closer. #1 on Zhoron and #2 directly behind him.

The powder blows into the area the that the flying devilish creature occupies but unlike the simple minded man in the hall this creature seems to be unaffected.

Imp Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Having already successfully attacked its target, the devil in front of Zhoron moves 5' south in front of Lukaas and attempts to slash him with his tail and sting him. Unfortunately the tiny devil zips past Lukaas's head and misses.

Attack Lukaas: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

The second devil flies directly above Zhoron and just like the other devli lands his stinger. This time it barely piereces into Zhoron's neck.

Attack Zhoron: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Damage Zhoron: 1d4 ⇒ 1
If not already poison - Zhoron: 1d2 ⇒ 1

Zhoron takes 1 damage and if he succeeded his fort check above he must make a DC 13 Fort save or take 1 Dex damage.

After searching through his memory for anything of importance pertaining to these creatures, Eldak takes focus on the imp nearest to Zhoron and begins chanting in Elven and moving his right hand in an intricate pattern.

Cast Acid Splash (Ranged Touch)

There are still things I'm learning about the intricacies of the game; however, I think I got this right. Let me know.

Zhoron will delay until after Lukaas (hoping for some bardic inspiration), then 5' step to the corner, D9, to give room to any others who need to get next to the enemies. Then draw and attack with the his elven curved blade.

I looked back, I didn't see any post that says you gave me a silvered sword, or what type of sword it was, if you did.

melee: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 please add flanking and inspire courage if they apply

Our mission is one of deception and stealth. We must be quick of pace, and quick of mind. Best is to try to carry ourselves as if we had all the rights to be where we are. Before we go, I have a few things for you, just in case we come across some beast from the outer planes...

Lukaas put on the table the three vials of holy water
please help yourself.

then gives a silvered longsword to Zhoron
We might need your martial prowess, Zhoron, if we meet some devilkin, and this weapon will be useful in your hands. I myself got a silvered rapier, and a few silvered crossbow bolts. Better not to put all our eggs in the same basket.

THat was when we were in the waiting room, just before we started roaming about (2e page of this thread). Naughty Zhoron.^^

Elkdak:
These devils are imps - tiny, evil creatures. They are immune to fire and poison and have resistances against acid and cold. They have the ability to close their wounds much faster than usual and have damage reduction from most weapons but are suspective to good or silver.

Both Eldak and Zhoron's attacks miss their intended flying tiny targets.

The one flying above Lukaas looks down and says, "This is where you run away human. Go on, be gone!"
