This character is currently involved in the last encounter of a scenario (I think) and there's a decent chance it will end in a TPK (One PC dead already, one unconscious getting grappled to death... Rogar will be hit only with a 20 but if that happens he can die as well).

is it now legal to use a buckler while dervish dancing.
The rules are dervish dancing does not work with shield in hand.

Bucklers are a shield and therefore cannot be used with Dervish Dance. Slashing Grace was FAQed to allow Bucklers as that was the intent. As far as I am aware, Dervish Dance has not be FAQed since this came up years ago and they left it as it is

Last I heard, it was indeed legal, (although still within the realm of table variation), for Dervish Dance specifically, for that very reason. It does not apply to the other Dex to Damage style Feats in general, which each have different wording.

Yeah that one is a real 'expect significant table variation', as there seem to be a lot of opinions on it.

I'd avoid it just to sidestep the potential headaches :P

I'm not intending this to be an argument and like I mentioned, it's within the realm of table variation, (I'm just presenting a side, not questioning your ruling as the DM).

Dervish Dance requires you to use a Scimitar one handed, and not have anything in the other hand. But, when you use a Buckler, it does not occupy the hand at all, so does not break Dervish Dance. That was the original intent of the Feat, (prior to the Magus). The Feat states "can not use a weapon or shield in the off hand", rather than "can not use a shield at all", and the Buckler specifically does not use the off hand.

A Light Shield, on the other hand, (no pun intended), does use the off hand, and is held in the hand, but still allows you to use the hand for other things, (such as touch attacks, holding another item, spellcasting, etc. . .)

I think its an edge issue and my instinctive view is:

"In any case, if you use a weapon in your off hand, you lose the buckler’s Armor Class bonus until your next turn. You can cast a spell with somatic components using your shield arm, but you lose the buckler’s Armor Class bonus until your next turn".

I think that would mean if you were Dervish Dancing you'd lose it as well - either you are using/wielding/wearing the shield, or you aren't.

How does Hellion have a Shining Wayfinder? I thought they where Silver Crusade only, and you lost it if you swapped Factions. Am I wrong? If so, I might pick one up too.

You are correct, they are from Silver Crusade (this one has the silver dragon clearly upon it). Curious huh?

Also, I didn't see any Day Job rolls, so I figured now might be a good time. If I missed it and they where already done, by all means, ignore this one.

Day Job: Heal (Temple): 10 + 9 + 1 = 20

Day Job (Caravan, Bluff): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

Dayjob - Caravan (Intimidate) 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
