Ascaria absorbs some of the big man’s injuries*, but his thoughts are for the waif.
Seeing the dopples attack, he swears under his breath, and quickly moves up to Mort. He eyes the girl and soft green tentacles of magic envelop her - in his mind anyway. Life link the girl, which he should have done earlier, but it didn’t occur to him until now.
”Mort, give her to me - quickly!” he holds out his hands to receive her. (Not sure that this is an action really, but if it is, he does not link her yet, sacrificing that advantage to take her safely from the big man.)

Solrisa introduces herself to the doppelgangers suddenly upon you. Eri takes a shot, but the cover steers his shot wide to avoid striking the frontline inadvertently. Ascaria relieves the giant of his burden. Hourpen GMPC readies an attack on anything appearing from behind. Tynan takes a remarkable leap and dodge, appearing on the other side of the doppelgangers. Repositioning per player instruction ooc. Tynan, looks like you still have a Standard Action at your disposal. The ashen man arrives just in time to distract the doppelganger in front of Mortimer who manages to strike it, twice!
Your patience is rewarded, as another doppelganger, armed with a longsword advances just enough to take in the scene, while Eligos approaches to his left, with a firm look of disapproval.
"You weren't supposed to live through your stay at the Crooked House." He surveys the doppelganger corpses strewn over the stone floor. "Do you know how hard it is to find a good doppelganger? And here lies several... All that potential wasted." He rubs his hands together, clearly preparing to get them dirty with his involvement with you all.
"It appears that I must finish the job. You must have raised some ire to have brought down such a contract on your heads. I'll likely have to renegotiate the terms, for all the trouble you've caused."

Ascaria picks up a little more from Mort* as steps into one of the cells (5' step). He shifts the child in his arms and, carefully, sets her down on the ground at his feet. He holds on to her hand, or if she doesn’t grip back, he pats her on the head to try and steady her.
With his other hand, he casts Bless (+1 attacks & saves vs fear (morale)), trying to give the party a little edge on the battle.
When he sees Elgios, his heart skips a beat, Could he be bringing the guard to help? flickers across his mind. And then, as the others did before him, realization dawns.
”Elgios!” he shouts disparagingly. ”How could you!”

Solrisa bleeds her doppel twice, though it manages to avoid the more critical of the blows. Eri fires from behind, missing handily with both arrow flights. Ascaria brings back his blessing, while siphoning off some of the giant's injury. Hourpen GMPC, maintains his vigilance as rear guard. Tynan finds an impossible way through, landing two painfully precise strikes in the ribcage of the flanked doppelganger, dropping it, and making a way. Mortimer lands his second punch on the maiden's doppel, injuring it further.
Eligos looks down on his fallen doppelganger, the muscles in his neck straining from the outrage. "You fail to understand the implications of the damage you wreak here. It's no wonder you're marked for death. I only hope that it's by my hands, here and now."
With that being said, a wall of violet fire erupts in the hallway, cutting Tynan off from his allies. Solrisa, Mortimer, and Ascaria experience a greater heat 2d4 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8 damage, while Eri suffers the lesser 1d4 ⇒ 4 damage. The waif suffers nothing, from the gnome's fortuitous positioning within the bedroom.

As the hallway erupts in flame, Ascaria is battered and bruised on all fronts. He drops Solrisa from his healing net, just so he can survive the blast. Sorry Sol! He heals a few others*.
He channels swiftly (double use for move action) healing the party, but careful to carve out the dopplegangers and Eligos.

He then casts Prayer (+1 attacks, damage, saves, & skills (luck)), effecting the party, and all visible opposition with the opposite effect.
Cowardly, he falls back into the room trying to avoid further damage from the wall, and protecting the girl.

Solrisa braves the wall of fire, the singe on her countenance clearing mostly away by the time she slashes into the injured doppelganger. Eri nicks away from a distance, striking the same creature. Ascaria oozes healing before he bursts an energy that seems to bolster his friends, while discouraging his enemies. Hourpen stays put. Tynan ends the poor doppel with two kisses of his blades. Mortimer steps lively, experiencing the same pain of fire, before he joins the fight on this side of the wall, missing his mark, but engaging with Eligos in words, at least. He certainly responds.
"Tamral, move away." The doppelganger nods, and retreats. Withdraw
The second part of his speech is difficult to follow, but, combined with his hand gestures, seems to complete a casting.
He's cast Confusion.

Eri went through the wall of fire PRIOR to my initiative, so he’d have been healed by me this round. That meant I’d have changed my action which the DM is graciously allowing. Mort you still healed as well, but I didn’t note it here in the redux so you don’t think you got it twice. :)

Solrisa avoids the magical assault on her mind, as she heals herself, and readies against renewed hostilities. Eri takes the plunge, meeting up with most everyone on the other side of the wall. Ascaria continues to turtle in a bedroom, protecting the girl, and healing himself a little. Hourpen continues to post guard to defend the gnome and waif. Tynan slips into confusion, injuring himself when he finds no doppelganger nearby. Mortimer advances, producing a vial of healing, and tries to convince the ashen man to stop self-injuring.
The doppelganger shakes his head, turning to address Eligos. "They're hesitating." The creature looks ready to strike at the first one of you to advance.
Eligos steps into view from the rear of the room, which draws Mortimer's gaze to an open doorway, previously undetected.
"Well, that won't do." He looks past you all, extending his hand, taking in the wall near Tynan, where a small pinpoint of red fires over the shoulder of his protecting doppel. The room, on this side of the Wall of Fire, becomes its own Inferno. Tynan, Solrisa, Mortimer, and Eri find themselves engulfed in flames from the explosion. Eligos's face is lit in red and orange, his eyes burning bright with pleasure as he manages to consume most of you.

Solrisa fans away some of the scorch, her gauge of distance just off from her watery eyes. Eri almost succumbs to the destructive element in both wall and ball form, firing through the doorway, and almost hitting the awaiting doppelganger. Ascaria braves the Wall of Fire, sighting his friends with milky eyes, and restoring a healthy amount of health to all those charred souls. Hourpen maintains his position, leaving the waif to fear the fires in the hall by herself. Tynan surely isn't confused enough to stand still while the flames explode about him, but where his body succeeds, his mind fails him a second time, words falling from his lips like various fruits from an overturned cart. Mortimer tries and fails to tumble through the doppelganger's defensive position in the doorway, but still manages a decent strike, nonetheless.
For his trouble, the giant bestows upon the doppelganger a gift of a free swing!
