Round 2
Trifaccia: Reflex DC 22: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (15) + 19 = 34
Sebastian is left standing on the ground but the girls take up the fight. Sebastian is healed to full health from Ayako's magic and Iolana shoots a blast of cold at Trifaccia. However, the efreeti manages to twirl out of the way completely. Yes, Trifaccia has rogue levels.
Round 3

Wall of Fire Damage: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5
Trifaccia remains where he is floating in the air and creates a wall of fire surrounding the three of you in a circle, flames aimed inward. He then follows up with another quickened scorching ray, this time, one ray targeting each of you.
You each take 5 fire damage from the wall of fire and from the scorching ray, Sebastian takes 20 fire damage (25 total w/ wall), Ayako takes 15 fire damage (20 total w/ wall), and Iolana takes 13 fire damage (18 total w/ wall).
Round 3
21 - Trifaccia (AC 30, T 18, FF 23) - X
17 - Iolana
16 - Sebastian
8 - Ayako

Meanwhile, Tyrandro manages to bully an imp into giving him directions and makes his way to a magic shop called, Sell Your Soul for a Bauble. Behind the counter stands a muscular bare-chested devil with rust-colored skin and a jutting crown of ridge-like horns. His horns and arms are draped in lengthy contracts.
"Welcome to me shop." says the contract devil with open arms. "You're not from around here. Tell me, what are you looking for, and I'll tell you what it will cost you."
Ayako |
Yep, 10 dex and nothing that can boost it. Plus with that BaB bonus it wouldn't mean a thing
Mushu squeals in rage and bares his piggy teeth! The skull on his head then flies off and attempts to bit the nasty man on the nose!
This fearsome-looking mask of ivory, beaten copper, or pale wood is typically fashioned into the likeness of a human skull with a missing lower jaw, allowing the bottom half of the wearer’s face to remain visible when the mask is worn.
Once per day, after it has been worn for at least 1 hour, the mask can be loosed to fly from the wearer’s face. It travels up to 50 feet away from the wearer and attacks a target assigned to it. The grinning skull mask makes a touch attack against the target based on the wearer’s base attack bonus. If the attack succeeds, the target must make a DC 20 Fortitude save or take 130 points of damage, as if affected by a finger of death spell. If the target succeeds on his saving throw, he nevertheless takes 3d6+13 points of damage. After attacking (whether successful or not), the mask flies back to its user. The mask has AC 16, 10 hit points, and hardness 6.
Ayako slashes her hand down and the air parts, showing pitch blackness and glittering stars as a blast of pure cold strikes at the Efreet
Interstellar Void (Su): You call upon the frigid depths of outer space to bring a terrible chill to your enemies. As a standard action, one target within 30 feet is cloaked in the void and takes 1d6 points of cold damage for every oracle level you possess(14d6). A successful Fortitude save halves this damageDC 19. At 10th level, the interstellar void is so extreme that a creature that fails its save is fatigued. At 15th level, a creature that fail its save is exhausted and stunned for 1 round. You can use this ability once per day plus one additional time per day at 10th level.

Round 3
Iolana casts fly on Sebastian and he rises up to meet his foe. He just barely hits Trifaccia with his sword, but even so, the wound stings with holy energy. Trifaccia takes 49 damage. I think the damage is calculated wrong though. [1d6 (rapier), +13 (from +5 Dex, +3 weapons training, +4 weapon bonus: = 12 {am I missing a +1 somewhere}), +28 (from double precise strike), +2d6 (holy)]. You can also be including an additional +2 hit and +2d6+2 damage from the bane property against minions of the Queen. Sebastian's first round attacks should have been more too. I didn't notice until now.
Trifaccia: Fort save DC 20 vs. Grinning Skull Mask: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16 Fail
Then, to everyone's surprise, Mushu the pig saves the day. The grinning pig skull mask rams into Trifaccia's chest. His eyes grow wide and he clutches at his heart, then he drops dead. Trifaccia takes 130 damage and dies.
Combat over.
Trifaccia's gear includes: +1 flaming scimitar, bracers of armor +4, minor ring of cold resistance, ring of protection +2
GM Peachbottom |
The growing crowd cheers at Trifaccia's defeat. The surround you and lift Sebastian and Mushu over their heads. "Blackjack! Mushu!" they chant. The two girls are left feeling a little left out.
"Blackjack, you've returned! And you've revealed Trifaccia for the impostor that he was. I can't believe we were fooled by his illusions. Now that you're here, you'll defend us, won't you? The common man is not safe under Queen Ileosa's rule. The Korvosan Guard is all but defunct and the Gray Maidens are more likely to persecute us than protect us. And these rebels, are they are allies or our enemies? Certainly those who have been robbing us are not. It is hard to tell, who's who. Korvosa needs you now more than ever."
"And who is this adorable pig? Where did you find him? Is he your sidekick? Will Mushu take up the Blackjack mantle in the future? ...Oh, and who are these other two girls? ...Ayako and Iolana. Fans of yours? Or lovers, you sly dog? I always pictured you as somewhat of a ladies' man."
GM Peachbottom |
To Tyrandro, the contract devil scoffs, "Coin? How trite. You seem like a man who knows what he wants. You'd make an excellent warlock. I'd even sponsor you if you were so inclined. But I can tell you have important places to be, so I'll sell you this Scroll of Plane Shift for the low price of 3,375 gold. If you want me to cast it for you, round it up to an even 4,000. If you don't have the coin on you, I'm sure we can come to another arrangement."
GM Peachbottom |
"Oh, I don't know..." says the contract devil eyeing your coins bearing the Korvosan crown. "Korvosa is the talk of the town lately. Queen Ileosa has been doing wonders to make it more devil-friendly. Or should I call her Kazavon now?" He shrugs. "Who can say? We could do the whole sell your soul to me thing, but I'm more entrepreneurial than that. Why settle for just one soul, when I can acquire many? If you're interested, you could be my joint partner and we could set up shop in your fair city. I could keep the souls and you could keep the coin. It's a win for all. Or, since I can see you are the hero type. However unlikely, if the Queen does fall, and the new government needs an adviser, I have an extensive resume of helping others to gain wealth and power."
The devil will cast the spell whenever you are ready and you'll reappear in the spot where you originally vanished.
Iolana Altumas |
"Mushu or Seb?" she laughs knowing full well Ayako is talking about Mushu.
In his fame do you think he'll require fancy mud and special food. Fluffy is going to be so sad he missed this.
She nods to a nearby ally. "I'm going to wait out the party over here. Maybe the'll forget my face."
Iolana will cast invisibility on Seb at with Silent Spell when he get away from the crowd.
Seb O Bot 2000 |
Seb is surprised that Mushu did the killing blow. "Good people. I am here to defend you. We will free this city of the Queen's corruption, and bring prosperity back."
He works hard to get out of the crowd, and get Mushu out of the crowd. "We must go before the Grey Maidens arrive. Go about your business and know I'm watching."
Tyrandro Amprei |
"You check what's magic of that stuff and then we'll see if we sell it for coin. I got a free trip to hell. Literally. One way. The ticket back cost me 4000 gold. Nice guy that devil who owns the magic shop. But I seriously have to do something about my afterlife. I'm not as enthusiastic as Laori, about getting some devil treatment. That's not my 'happily ever after' fantasy." Tyrandro explains.
Would you please put our bucket list into the campaign description or behind a link at the top?
GM Peachbottom |
You haven't quiet decided on how you want to infiltrate the castle but you begin heading in that direction for now.
After about 30 minutes of walking, panic breaks out in the streets. A throng of people rush past you and point towards the sky. "Dragon! Run for you lives!"
You look in the direction that they are pointing and you see a huge black dragon take off from Castle Korvosa's battlements and begin circling the area. Looking closely, you can just make out that a Gray Maiden is mounted on its back.
Tyrandro Amprei |
"Shall I get it's attention for us?" Tyrandro asks rhetorically.
Bow Pinpoint Targeting + DA: 1d20 + 21 - 9 ⇒ (15) + 21 - 9 = 271d8 + 14 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 14 + (6, 6) = 28
Left out the corrosive as black dragons are at least resistant to acid. the -9 is maximum penalty for shooting 1100 feet.
Iolana Altumas |
"I hope that isn't Seb's sister." She mutters as she moves out of breath weapon range. She looks at it carefully, and tries to determine what kind of Energy she should protect the group from. To be safe she gives everyone Stoneskin. "Bring it down Tyrando."
Everyone has 140 points of stoneskin.

Know Arcana: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
This is an actual black dragon. So you want acid resistance.
the -9 is maximum penalty for shooting 1100 feet.
I don't know exactly how far it is but we can say it is at the far end of 1000 feet and use the roll you did.
Showing off his mastery of archery, Tyrandro fires a single arrow way off into the distance. The arrow is merely a speck to your eyes but it manages to hit a soft spot under the dragon's shoulder joint. The dragon let's out a deafening roar and drops into a dive aiming straight for you. As it approaches, six identical illusory dragons appear (mirror image), and even though you know it's only one dragon, the appearance of a flight of huge dragons bearing down on you is unnerving. As the dragon gets closer, you can see that the rider is indeed Sebastian's sister, Sabina Merrin.
Mirror Image: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
You can have one round to prepare before the dragon closes the distance to you. There is no printed map for this encounter since it can occur in a number of locations but I'll put together something with dungeon tiles and post it tonight hopefully. (And then you'll kill the dragon on round 1 for my efforts =P).
If you want to attempt to attack in this round, the ACs are:

Sabina: AC 35, Touch 15, Flat-Footed 32

"Not Sabina." Sebastian looks shocked and very upset. "Don't kill her, please don't kill her. I'm sure she doesn't really want to do this." He waits until something gets into range.
Tyrandro Amprei |
"Keep your cool. Getting her back to life is only one working of magic and 5000gold away. Though casting some disabling magic on her would probably be cheaper." Tyrandro tries to reassure Sebastian.
