The psychic onslaught sends the ooze back to the primordial line.
In the distance, the sounds of Janira in combat can still be heard. Rushing toward it, you soon burst from the caves and back into the world outside. To a normal humanoid, the light of the surface world above would likely be a welcome reprieve from the blue and green fungus of the caverns below, but to your group it's just a little annoying.
Nearby is a stream whose water is hastened by runoff from a recent storm further up the mountains. A ledge to the west rises up to the nearby forest canopy. Nearly 100 feet from the cave’s entrance, Janira Gavix is locked in combat with her relentless minotaur foe in a clearing on the southern bank of the stream. Apparently, she has been doing laps around the mount for a few hours and has sustained several serious wounds, but continues to shout in defiance, “You vile beast! I know not what drives your black heart, but I shall not fail in my duty. I shall see you driven from this forest, back to the hills from whence you came!”

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
"She's not dead yet. How surprising." Katharina nearly echoes her previous comment as she moves a top speed towards the fight.
Double Move, taking the difficult terrain into account. What is the blue arrow supposed to represent?
Hallothien |
Hallothien rushes forward, pushing his way through the underbrush towards the river. As he does he speaks a word to enhance his longbow.

Janira ducks, weaves and dives, then with her small whip unsuccessfully tries to disarm the minotaur of his axe. "$#!+", she uncharacteristically curses as she backs away. When Geoffrey's flying earth slams into the minotaur, “Aha, hello my friends!" Janira shouts upon seeing your group coming to the rescue. "Remember Selmius Foster’s race against a marid and efreeti on the isle of Jalmeray, which taught us that nothing is truly impossible and every situation can end in vic-!”

All the yammering distracts Janira from combat as the minotaur crushes her with his axe. "MOOOOO!!", he then turns his attention to you.

Katharina slowly moves through the undergrowth and prepares a surprise if the minotaur gets closer.
Move Action: 3 squares through difficult terrain. Readied action: Use Slick on the minotaur if he gets within 30 feet. It acts like a Grease spell for 1 round, a DC 14 Reflex save negates.
Hallothien |
Out of the way halfling... Hallothien draws back the string on his longbow, the arrow tip bursting into flames. The minotaur complies by bashing Janira into the dirt.

Assuming the river is difficult terrain, I believe the minotaur should have had to make two move actions to get to it's current position.
Hallothien |
With the beast defeated, Hallothien moves to the log, carefully crosses, and heads toward Janira.

With Janira safe, though suffering from a little post-traumatic stress, you make your way back to Absalom. Once safely back in the Grand Lodge, Master of Scrolls Kreighton Shaine inquires excitedly about what the party found and asks to see your notes. He compliments those who recorded notes for being certain to write down ideas and observations while the thoughts are fresh, observing that it’s difficult enough to remember what one had for breakfast the day before as it is to recall exactly what one was thinking while studying an inscription. As the party is now the foremost authorities on that cave and what it contains, Shaine also invites you to come up with its name.
Three days later, it is confirmed that each of you are full Pathfinder field agents. As part of the ceremony, gifts of personalized wayfinder to you, reminding him or her that this is not only the symbol of the Pathfinder’s trade but also a reminder of the three principle duties: explore, report, and cooperate.
Congratulations, You are done! Primary and Secondary mission success. I'll try to get out chronicles later tonight or tomorrow.
