Ouch! That is rather a lot. I'm still in rentals, but have not had to move so often thankfully.


Renting is awful. At least our landlord has only one rental and lives next door, instead of being a property management company intent on getting every penny by ignoring every problem.

I hate moving and renting. A few months ago we bought a new (old) home and moved in. We are expecting this will probably be our forever home, and I hope that is the case. My sympathies to you for having to go through it again.


So we have a good trapsmith in Anzath, but I think we don't have anyone with Trap Spotter anymore. That means you don't get free perception checks for traps. How careful are you going to be? If you decide to move slowly, expect more wandering monster rolls and other sorts of mobile hazards, but I'll let you make trap checks like I did in the game thread.

I think it's safe to assume that whenever we move into a new area, searching for traps is an immediate priority. I know it's the kind of thing that grinds dungeon crawls to a, well, crawl, but we gotta play it safe. I want Anzath to live to see Yaza get taken out!

GM, I am assuming that I do not yet have filled 3rd level spell slots from leveling up to 5th since we haven't rested since then. Is that correct, or do I have those spells available?


Oh yeah I guess I need to decide that. Let's say you and Aurora can fill your slots due to the amazing awesomeness that is leveling up. I dunno, I'd rather do that than send you all scurrying to bed somewhere in the middle of a dungeon.

Bedlam, if you didn't have to move or draw your pick, the haste spell should give you an extra attack.

Thanks for the tip (no pun intended) on the knife place. It might be something me and the missus would like to browse on a weekend. On weekdays I pass Kirkland on my commute, but it would be brutal during commuting hours to try and get off and back on 405 to swing by.

How did snow camping go? My two grandsons went this weekend as well with their scout troop.


Winter camping wasn't snow camping for us, thankfully. Just a little chilly. We tried to go camping entirely on public transportation and walking--bus to ferry to hike to Fay Bainbridge Park on the island. The park is quite nice, but hiking on the shoulders of country roads turned out to be a foolish decision--too busy avoiding cars to focus on enjoying the walk. Still, the trip was a success overall, even if we took a cab back to the ferry the next day. Especially considering that we cooked up the whole plan because of the shutdown at Olympic.

I seem to have a plague demon of my own in the real world...

AKA, my kitten has contracted a case of pink eye and is taking the opportunity to lovingly try and headbutt everyone in the face. I have been assured a cat is unlikely to spread it to a human, but my inner germophobe still worries.

One of my parrots (I have two, different species, both females) has been working on a box in the storage loft for years. She engineered a back room with a door and filled the back room with fluff. It's been a good project.

But. A couple weeks ago, she laid eggs in it. Now she's obsessed with brooding on them, only coming down to take care of her physical needs. The internet said to let her have her fun, that she'll get bored of them when she realizes they aren't gonna hatch and if I take them away she'll try to lay replacements. It's been a weird few weeks. I really want her to get back to normal. But also, she's happier than I've ever seen her except for maybe when we first got her from the rescue.

I have kicked off a sister campaign here in Seattle--a few former students requested that I DM them a Pathfinder game, and to save time developing a setting, I dropped them into Rappan Athuk. Only, I dropped them into a much deeper level several miles down from where you all are now (semi-evil party so they fit in better than you will when you get there).

It's going to be a hybrid campaign--primarily play by post, but with an occasional in person session. I think that will be interesting. Per their request, we're using Discord to play, but I still hope that someday if you cross paths we can have a crossover extravaganza!

Discord is great, have used it to organise games and even to play them. It was very handy to have it as a backup communication channel for certain games when the forum was shaky.

My weekly game groups have Discord servers for scheduling, chatter, memes, and game-related discussion but we play on either MapTool (which I personally find far more intuitive and quicker to set up maps and NPC tokens on as a DM than Roll20, even if it has a dated interface) or Roll20 depending on which group it is.

I'm all fine with murderhoboing our way through the dungeon, but it seems our actions topside are going to have, er, political consequences. Which is the way it should be and I applaud our GM and I find myself intrigued by this whole warring city-states subplot.
