Yay! Congrats Tal!
So that could have gone worse. I was trying to accurately roleplay Anzath's reaction to the situation, as well as back it up with rollplay. The crux of these games is facing a situation, reacting to it, and facing the consequences of our actions, right?
So I really enjoyed that, no matter that I had trouble sleeping last night.

The prisoners ring was a nice touch. I really liked that. Also the whole rolling with the punches thing. Vael really wants to go dragon hunting now.
First day teaching in the new quarter tomorrow! They give us a week off for Spring Break, but grades are due on the Tuesday. Then you have Weds-Sun to plan your next class.
I'm a little behind. But I'm also really looking forward to writing this wedding scene. I haven't forgotten about you all! More soon.

Anzath, you know the armor bonus it provides doesn’t stack with armor, right? Other than that, he’ll be glad to craft it for her. We can take it out of her share in the next haul.
Trag Spending and Crafting:
Here’s Tragershen’s spending of the 500 gp, plus a few coins he still had from before.
And Tragershen will scribe the following scrolls, costing 437 gp, 5 sp.
-Scroll: See Invisible (CL3), Glitterdust (CL3)
-Scroll: Invisibility (CL3)
-Scroll: Vanish (CL2), True Strike (CL1)
-Scroll: Obscuring Mist (CL1)
-Scroll: Burning Hands (CL5)
-Scroll: Grease (CL1)
-Scroll: Mage Hand (CL1)
-Scroll: Mage Hand (CL1)
-Scroll: Mending (CL1)
-Scroll: Open/Close (CL1)
That leaves him with 2 gp and 4 sp. He’ll give those to Ullman in exchange for two glass vials and four iron vials. That leaves him with about as much money as every one else in town.

Ah, yes, of course...
Still a +1 dex bonus to AC doesn’t hurt, also initiative and a lot of other useful skills. And the +2 to resist poison is what really sparked my attention.

Question, what does...
GM Parrot wrote:
[ooc] Tragershen can use the snakeskin to make any leather armor that gives +5 Resist Energy (Fire), or a Snakeskin Tunic .
...technically mean? Does Tragershen bypass the material cost of crafting, the spell requirements, time?
Basically, what do I owe him and how soon can I get it?
He still has to craft it, but the snakeskin will cover all costs. One notable benefit of a Snakeskin Tunic is that an arcane caster can wear it to get an armor bonus without spell failure, but with Mage Armor it might not be relevant.
And if no one else wants the leather armor option, I would totally go for the tunic. It would be helpful until I can cast a mage armor that lasts all day, and the dex bonus is great. And it may be possible to improve those bonuses over time. That, along with the utter coolness of the visual would make it worth it. :)

Hey all, I have a new-to-DnD friend in my other PbP game who is itching for more DnD, but they can't leave their house much. Could also use some good mentors in the hobby. So I thought I'd see if you all would be ok running seven deep with a relative newcomer. What say you?

My posting will be a bit slow this weekend--a good friend is organizing Sakuracon, a big Japanese culture/anime/manga convention here in Seattle, and she's roped us into volunteering! I mean, twist my arm. Today I'm going to set up a tea ceremony demo and a furoshiki demo (wrapping presents in pretty scarves!). Tomorrow, Japanese harp, eating Izakaya food, and yokai stories (maybe some fuel for campaign stories in there!).
Of course they'd be welcome! Might I suggest a dwarven ranger with favored enemy (vermin) and the Toxic Recovery feat?
Okay, furoshiki. That is awesome. It explains some why some shoes that my wife has are called furoshiki. And she makes traditional gift wrapping an art form at Christmas time; she'll love some of these videos on furoshiki.
Damn, I love the crowd on the Paizo site. I am regularly learning new things from them! Thanks, GM!
The furoshiki talk was amazing, easily the coolest thing I saw all day. A woman from the Japanese consulate showed us how it's done. As much as the giftwrapping was really fun and eco-friendly, I was even more impressed by the various life-hacks she had for us--stuff like how to wrap a water bottle so you can attach it to the outside of a backpack, how to bag all your groceries into one drawstring bag, etc. I'll try to describe it in more detail soon.

And that convention sounds fun.:)
I found out during the week that one of my tabletop players ran some of Rappan Athuk before, and his-now wife recalls it as "rough". I may yet end up running tabletop Slumbering Tsar after my current Deathwatch campaign ends. ;) Though an easier sell if I convert it to 5th edition!

You'd have a lot of fun there, I'd bet, Vael! Also, it's your turn in-game!
What a couple days it's been--I'm tired, and I didn't do a single night activity. Last night there was a masquerade ball that I hear was really fun, and tonight's the rave, and I only wish that some actual Victorians could attend the rave and report back to me how much/how little things have changed.
But I'm a lazy, sleepy, working person, and it's Easter tomorrow to boot, so I'm done with the con for now. I'm not sure I'll go next year--I'm not much of an anime nerd, and the anime I prefer is (judging by cosplay ratios) not particularly popular.
That said, Sakuracon is pretty special--it's a nonprofit run entirely by volunteers. I'm pals with the volunteer coordinator, so if any of you folks happened to want to get in for free next year by doing silly/easy stuff like counting how many people come to the yokai talk (what I did today), that could be arranged.
my four favorite anime series of all time, intentionally leaving out films because a list of Miyazaki isn't particularly helpful:
Kids on the Slope: what I show people who either don't like or are indifferent to anime (my mom loved it). About kids growing up in southern Japan in the 60s exploring their mutual love of American jazz.
Tiny Little Life in the Woods: heartwarming, cute one about people working together to solve problems. So much anime is violent. I get my violence fix from messing with you folks. Mouse-sized hobbitish women hang with weasels and frogs and the like.
March Comes In Like a Lion: for the gamer. A drama about a middle school kid who is amazing at shogi, but who also needs to figure out life. Let me tell you about minishogi sometime, my favorite board game.
and... Utena: Revolutionary Girl. A classic mind-bender from the 90s, I love it, but won't mind if someone else doesn't. Part masterpiece artwork, part sloppy mess. I saw one Utena today, who was the only cosplayer from my top four shows! Travesty!
@Tal, you folks have been having a relatively easy time of it so far. Slumbering Tsar links up to Rappan Athuk in a few places, but I don't own it--if it's anything like RA, it'll be really good.

Sorry it has been a really rough weekend. My house was broken into, luckily nothing was stolen as they panicked, dropped things, and ran when my brothers girlfriend can down the hall. And sleep has been really difficult.
But we could pack me in a box and send me next year in your place!

There are reasons we keep various weapons hidden throughout our home. I’m happy it turned out as well as it could, nothing was stolen, no one was hurt.

It has been two and a half decades since I've been, so I'm not sure what to recommend. I loved the British Library when I was there, and hung around the West End a lot.
It's a work trip and a short trip, which means a lot of libraries and not a lot else, but maybe I'll finish up a little early and hit some museums. I am heading to Oxford tomorrow to check out a rare book they have, so that's another leg of the adventure.
Did Oxford yesterday! My mission took me there when the British Library said they wouldn't have the things I need on hand until after I left. Got to read in Oxford's Bodleian reading room, felt pretty cool.
BUT while I was at "the Bod" (some librarian called it that) the British pulled through and got what I need here in London again, so I'm in their reading room photographing it because the Bodleian doesn't allow photos.
Result: an impromptu but fun trip to Oxford proved unnecessary, and I've got photos of 100 pages of one of the rarest and most interesting (to me) magazines of the early 20th century. Now I can take them home and really sink my teeth into the texts it contains.
I need to get someone to pay me to do this side of the job. Currently I'm only paid to lecture, and that job runs out at the end of the quarter. I had to get out here while I still had my university job because it opens doors to collections like the Bodleian.
From the British Library reading room, this is your GM, signing off...
