Deepest condolences and may the Gods who watch over the dead let them rest in peace.

I'm very sorry to hear that, take your time and care for your family.

![]() |

Yes...and I should be back on a regular posting schedule now...
Since Grey's bull rush succeeded, I moved you back 5' thinking you'd still want to be in the same relative position...you can change it if I assumed wrong...

![]() |

Otha, you are exactly right. Grey had just enough movement to follow it that 5 ft.

![]() |

Grey never took anything from that chest. I don't know if invisibility is on my spell list? :(

![]() |

You mentioned ensuring it was stashed along with the way finder and things. I thought you meant in general, but you might have meant you were taking it personally. I wasn't sure.

Damn, it took a few edits to bring that into Grey's syllable limit and vocabulary...

![]() |

Had movie night with the wife tonight, so I'll post in the morning to kick off the final encounter...

![]() |

With the shaman getting the headstart on initiative, this could be a very tough fight, especially since the first thing he does is cast summon swarm...I freakin' hate swarms, especially at first level...tread carefully...

![]() |

Almost all summoning spells have a one round casting time. So unless he started casting during the surprise round we have a little more time.

![]() |

I'm sorry, I should've stated that Grey as I wasn't very clear, since he knew y'all were coming, he did...

![]() |

Yeah it does...if he'd rolled one less on initiative, UlSkadi and Rykaar might could've disrupted his spell...you probably already know this, but he has to maintain concentration or the spell duration is limited, so if y'all can put some damage on him, you may not have to face the swarm as long...or if someone has acid or alchemist fire...
My first time playing this, same thing happened...and we had no flasks for the swarm...and all or our attacks missed the first round...we had to face the swarm for 3 or 4 rounds before he lost concentration...we made it through with just wounds but it was tight for us for a round or two...
I absolutely cannot stand swarms...in my first 4 or 5 adventures, I faced swarms in every one...I was glad during the Confirmation that I rolled giant fleas instead of spider swarms for y'all...could've faced two spider swarms in the initial encounter in that one...seems like Pathfinder has a fascination with swarms...

![]() |

Well thankfully Todd has been carrying around an acid flask for a little while, and guess if it gets to my turn I have burning hands still ready to use.

![]() |

I imagine it is clear that he is concentrating (on something) even without spellcraft?
Ya, swarms are a weird monster from a design perspective, I'm not sure why pathfinder is obsessed with them. Only an archetypal party (wizard with a fireball) can deal with them easily, there are low level solutions for anyone (alchemical weapons) but those become very ineffective at high levels. Very much like haunts (need powerful healing) they punish you got not having a classical party.
With at least haunts, the mechanics fit the theme: Something bad will happen to you unless your are very lucky. But if the mechanics fit the theme on swarms, they are are a terrifying force of nature that should be ran from but so many scenarios put the swarms in enclosed spaces where they can not be ran from.
/end swarm rant

![]() |

If Todd can hit with the flask for decent damage and Rei can hit with ray of frost, y'all might be able to finish it before it attacks...if not, might be close enough where you can end it with burning hands...

![]() |

Yeah, y'all can tell he's concentrating on something w/o spellcraft...he has to make the check when struck or when he's actively moving and such...but the DC varies depending on damage, type of movement, etc...know you already know this Grey, just mentioning for some of the others that might not...
After my -1 character finished MotFF, I never went on an adventure w/o acid or alchemist fire flasks...when my -1 hit 4th level, I bought a Swarmbane Clasp and I don't worry 'bout swarms so much anymore...but that's hard to afford at low levels...

![]() |

Cerryl, please keep using detect magic as you keep playing scenarios.
A well timed detect magic has found much loot in the past for the groups I've been in. Any sane caster is often detecting magic.

![]() |

Well, for those of you that looked, y'all know what that GM Roll (50% is bad) was for now...if Lovissa hadn't warned y'all, you would've faced one more before the end...while you would've gotten Reflex DC15 saves, not sure how many might've died if that happen as it could've been up to 5d6...
A couple of questions for y'all...
Grey, did you want full credit for this module? It'd put you at 2nd level, which is fine if you haven't played the Consortium Compact with another 2nd level character before...
UlSkadi hasn't posted in a long while...she had pm'ed me before to let me know of some circumstances she was goin' through, so I've been botting her, but if she doesn't respond before we start the next one, y'all will be down a party member...I could either recruit a new one or y'all could go with 5. The next scenario is more role-play heavy as opposed to the one we just finished and I think y'all would be fine with just 5, but let me know what y'all would prefer...
I should have your Chronicles to you by tonight...but tomorrow morning at the latest...

![]() |

Full credit for Grey please. I have not played Consortium Compact at 2 yet. Also I'm very excited for my level 2 abilities. So everyone knows, I have played Consortium Compact in the past, so I'll be following your lead.
I'm okay with 5, I think our group is strong and awesome. But there are always players looking for games, so I'm not opposed to filling the empty slot.
Also, turns out I was using an old version of the Skinwalker. The new version has unlimited shifting and does not take the -4 charisma penalty while shifted, so I'll be living in the shifted form and using the human avatar (the one that doesn't look like a -4 penalty to charisma).

![]() |

I'm also fine with five team members.
We always get level ups after 3 XP, right? Just curious.

![]() |

Looks like it'll be in the morning before I can get the chronicles to y'all...feel free though to make whatever purchases you'd like with the gold amount I mentioned in my last gameplay thread (479 gp, I think)...

![]() |

No worries Otha to be honest it would probably be better to wait till Sunday at the earliest before starting part 3 since I will not have access to the internet from Friday morning to late afternoon on Sunday.

![]() |

Woohoo! 2nd level I think!
Rykaar, did this character have any experience prior to The Confirmation? It takes 3 XP to for 2nd level and you've earned 2 XP in the first two stages in our trilogy...if Rykaar completed a scenario before playing in these two here, he'd be second level...if not he'll be 2nd level after finish our next scenario...
Grey had 1XP prior to our adventures so this scenario put him over the top...

![]() |

No prior experience, I misunderstood HeroLab. It said 2XP to level 2, and I somehow interpreted that as needing 2 XP TOTAL.
OK will need one more chronicle :-(
Looking forward to Consortium Compact.
BTW, I started playing that with another character in a loooong PFS campaign that is going to span until level 9. The Consortium Compact is an "evergreen" right? So I can play with Rykaar without a problem?

![]() |

I can also exchange 1 PP = 375gp?
I am debating if I want to purchase a Pearl of Power or Cloak of Resistance +1. Thoughts?

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

For 1 PP you can purchase anything worth 150g or less.
For 2 PP you can purchase anything worth 750g or less.
This can not be used for part of a purchase, or for multiple purchases (unless the multiple items are part of a natural batch: multiple of the same spell on the same scroll).

![]() |

2PP and 750g is the limit for typical purchases. Purchases for more prestige than that are for specific services, see table 4-2 on page 22 of the roleplaying guild guide.

![]() |

Rykaar is fine for Consortium Compact as it is an evergreen for level 1 characters...

![]() |

I support bringing in a 6th player. Always a lot of interest on the Recruitment board.
I am also good with starting on Sunday.
Rykaar will go shopping for a few items:
1. Alchemist fire (x2)
2. Bandoleer
3. Darts (x4)
4. Masterwork Backpack
5. Use 2PP for a Wand of Infernal Healing
6. Spring-loaded wrist sheath
I can purchase for normal book prices?

![]() |

Got your Chronicles ready but can't upload 'em from work...I'll upload 'em when I get home and post the link...
Got the session reported so it should be showing up in your sessions list...
I'll pm UlSkadi and see if she responds...

![]() |

Faction journal cards. They have small rewards, but are a lot of fun.

![]() |

Todd will purchase:
Masterwork Thieves Tools 100gp -> replacing regular tools 30gp
Acid x3 30gp
Masterwork Backpack 50gp

![]() |

Chronicles are up at the link below:
Let me know if you have any issues or if there are any errors...

![]() |

'Participate in an adventure that directly assists an NPC Pathfinder Agent or agent of an allied organization, such as by mounting a rescue, recovering an important object, or defending that group's resources and reputation.'
For mounting a rescue mission to save Balenar. That's alright?

![]() |

Cool!
Lovissa's buying two potions of cure light wounds, four vials of acid and two vials of holy water.

![]() |

I will post an intro to the final scenario in this trilogy this evening...but we probably won't get more into the meat of it till tomorrow...

![]() |

Also, spending a prestige point for a Wayfinder.
That'll conclude Todd's purchases.
Did we not get a free Wayfinder for the Confirmation chronicle?

![]() |

If it's your first time playing it, yes. It's not my first time playing The Confirmation, so Todd could buy it with a single PP instead of 250 gold.

![]() |

Think I am set for the most part though only bought a CLW potion since wasnt sure what else would be worthwhile really. Also, reworked Cerryl a little going with bonded object over familiar now though I liked the idea of the owl didnt want to have to keep up with feed and other things, and added 2 traits since that is standard for non-core characters right.

![]() |

Grey picked up a Recondite Holy Symbol.

![]() |

I'll be unmasking the map in a little while but wanted to cover the uniqueness of the pub encounter. It requires 3 phases to be passed by the party, one phase at a time; when each phase comes up, each PC will need to describe in detail what he's doing and make an appropriate skill check...3 of you will need to succeed to go on to the next phase...
The first phase is preparing the disruption...this could include how you'll enter the pub, what you'll do to case the place, blend in, etc...In all phases, this can include climbing checks, swimming checks, a perception check, stealth check, performance check, combat maneuver check. etc.; anything that makes sense. However, no more than two checks per party per phase can be the same...and choose a different check per player per phase...for really creative ideas, I'll give a circumstance bonus to the skill check...
The second phase is enacting the plan...what actions you take if/when you notice the agents involved in the meeting and how you'll disrupt it...
The third phase is more of an ad-libbed phase, as it revolves upon making your escape and/or dealing with contingencies...
If you have any questions on procedure, ask here in the Discussion tab...
