@Dris: So for a page of spell knowledge with a level 1 spell and CL 1, it's the non-issue of a DC 6/11 spellcraft check, for a known/unknown spell, respectively. Don't need to roll for that.
Assuming Dris asked Mornaura nicely and brought the materials from Oleg's, choose a spell and consider it done. :) It takes only one day to craft, so let's say 10% markup?
PS: Yay, my first customer! ^^
---
@Nel: Hmm, that's fine, I guess.
How about crafting those fetishes as 1/day usable items, then?
With spell level 1 and caster level 1, base price is 1800/5 = 360 for a necklace or vest or whatever, and 720 for a slotless item, right?
Crafting cost would be 180/360 then... I'd like to craft a necklace-fetish with Mage Armor for me and one with Enlarge Person for Kaeso or Norn.
How much time did we spend at Oleg's? 2? 2.5?
Anyway, since I can only do one item per day, I'll craft the page for Dris and the fetish for me at Oleg's.
If there's still time before we head out, and if someone wants it, I'll start on that Enlarge Person thing and finish it on the next one or two adventuring days.
---
@all: Alright folks, WitchCraft Enterprise is officially open!
If you want something from the CWI list, ask me and I'll see how fast I can craft it. If you want something custom, ask Nel first. :P
Special offer: 1/day enlarge person fetish! Lasts 1 minute, costs you only 396 for a necklace (or whatever you'd like) or 792 for a slotless item.
(Assuming Nel allows it. ^^)
Btw, I'd say we let Ionnia do one more post for the church service before we dive into exploration again? Once that's finished, let's head to our western border first.
Oh, and another btw, do you want Mornaura or Norn or Ionnia to carry (and use) the wand of cure light wounds for (and on) all of us?

![]() |

@Mornie: Great! I had a couple of ideas. But I think I'll go with Vanish. Should be able to help Bingo with that too. The materials should be 500gp (+25gp for a scroll?) +100 gp for Mornie.
I think it makes sense for Mornie to hold the wand, since Ionnia can cast & channel without it.
Alrighty, westward ho!

Mornaura |

@Ionnia: Nice service. :)
@Dris: Good choice and thanks for the cash.
Oh and, as long as the page doesn't count as a spell-trigger or spell-completion item, we don't even need the scroll. (As stupid as the idea of whipping up the complete spell formula in a way usable for spontaneous casters without knowing the actual spell sounds.)

![]() |

In my other PbP, I just rolled a d20 6 times. The results were: 1, 1, 2, 1, 5, 1. That can't be statistically plausible, can it?
Flurry of Blahs, or Flurry of "these dice really blow"s. I should have taken Drunken Master style. At least I could have played it off as... "I meant to do that -hic-"

Mornaura |

@Nel: Just to clarify, is it okay for me to craft these once per day things?
@Kaeso: You're not interested in an item with a once per day 1 minute enlarge person buff?
@Girls: ^^ Yep, the dice rolling system is all kinds of awful.Let's hope it doesn't continue like that in our next combat(s)...

Mornaura |

Superheroes aren't really my field of expertise, but yes, I guess so, in a way.
The spell can be found here: Enlarge Person
As a wondrous item, it's activated with a command word (standard action).
It would cost you 396 for a necklace (or bracers or whatever fixed slot item) or 792 for a slotless item.
Though if you want to be a real ant man, I could craft Muleback Cords next (they make you count your strength as 8 higher for carry capacity issues only). ;)

Mornaura |

Wouldn't he need an enlarge person and shrink person, with the muleback cords to truely be Antman? Oooo and a cool helmet allowing him to talk to insects!!! that would be awesome.
Hmm... Yeah, Reduce Person would be nice, but only allows you to go from medium to small.
If you really want to be ant-sized, you need higher level spells: Beast Shape/Monstrous Physique/Vermin Shape II (lvl 4) for tiny, Beast Shape/Monstrous Physique III (lvl 5) for diminutive, and Polymorph Any Object (lvl 8) for fine size category. That'll cost ya.
Compared to that, the helmet thing is rather trivial: just take the Scarab of Khepri and change the fluff.
Just a question for you all...
Am I being to preachery for you all?
Nah, it's alright. Just don't try to hold those speeches in combat. ^^

Re: Preachiness
Drispeera, as a character, will probably get annoyed by it. But let her get annoyed. It will be fun.
I also feel like giving a disclaimer, just in case I offend anyone with Drispeera's atheism. *I* am actually a minister (amongst other things) in RL. So these are Drispeera attitudes, not mine.

Mornaura |

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, offend anyone, scream badwrongfun or anything, but I feel I need to ask a favor: could you please please please please please try to not do numerous posts with several turns worth of combat actions and elaborate discussion during a single combat turn?
I get that you want (and like) to 'play out' your character (we all do, right?), and I'm totally fine when you post so much outside of combat, but please try not to make combat become more messy than it needs to be.
Thanks.

GM Nel |

remember that you have this forum too, so you can discuss the fight here instead of the main thread. Remember even though talking is a free action, it's still supposed to be no more than a sentence or two.
And I moved Bingo to delay because like you said, he was waiting for an answer about shooting or not first.

GM Nel |

and RE loot: My homegame actually manages it differently, and we just pool all the money in one pile and decide collectively what to purchase. For example, the first thing we saved up for was some full-plate for our tank (at the time, a cavalier) because we thought it would help the party the most.
I have seen it done both ways, and there are pros and cons to both, but if you think it'd be easier on the accounting you might want to think of something similar.
Not sure if I mentioned it before, but Kingmaker is treasure-light until a bit later. And that's with me complementing it with some extra loot to compensate for 6p

![]() |

My personal preference is that we have a "party treasure" and "individual treasure."
I would like to be able to decide what Dris buys with her share when she can afford it, rather than a committee. (I've had the committee thing turn out very, very badly when I was a monk and the party decided my character didn't need anything. (good saves, good ac, can't use several weapons so... nothing. by 7th level our tank had on 30,000 gp of gear, and my monk had 4,000 gp and was counting coppers towards getting an amulet of mighty fists someday. I hated that system.)
The "party treasure" share would be for things the whole group needs like cures, restores and maybe someday, raise deads.
So far I've sort of designated Oleg's Store Credit as "The Party Treasure" from which we bought the wand of Cure Lights, and the rest I've divided by number of party members we had at that moment.
If we reach a place where we think the party treasure should be more, we can decide as a group what we think the "party's share" should be. I've seen "1 equal share" and I've seen "50%". So the party treasure would be 1 out of 7 or 50% off the top, and then the 6 of us divide the rest.
Re: Math, not a problem. I can't calculate the quadratic equation or cosigns in my head anymore, but still it's nice to blow the dust off 8 years of advanced mathematics once in a while. One of my other party's demands that treasure be divided equally using the actual coins and gems we've found. This is a snap in comparison.
Anyhow that's my 2 coppers. Other considerations?

Mornaura |

I'm fine with doing a "party share" system, as there'll always be things we want to buy for the whole group.
50% is probably a bit much, 1 equal share might be too little... How about going the middle way? I'd vote for 25% (2 out of 8) to party treasure.
Oh, Mornaura, I'm in for the Enlarge Person necklace. I just need to go back and calculate how much gold I have. I'm afraid Kaeso doesn't have much of a head for money. Neither does his real world counterpart.
Alright. Since Mornaura had enough time to craft it while traveling the last days, consider it crafted. :)

![]() |

Awww... you should let your daughter play.
I'm pretty psyched since GM Nel let me switch from the Fey to the Sylvan Bloodlines. Best of the sorcerer and druid worlds. After we've bonded Dris'll probably want Mornie and Kaeso's help training him/her.
Oh and we'll have to train kitty that Faron isn't a snack. Luckily Faron can fly away.

![]() |

So, some animal companion questions:
* After being healed, I presume Kitty is fit to travel?
* Travel-- Can the baby cheetah keep up with us? I think we are on horseback, but travelling thru unexplored terrain probably isn't that fast, right?
* If Kitty can't keep up, then can he ride in Ionnia's cart (presuming she's willing?)
* Feats: since I'm getting him now instead of first level, is it a "poof-- he has all his feats?" or is there some progression you'd like to use?
PS-- A reminder, I took the Boon Companion Feat so that he's not 3 levels behind me.
* Tricks: Similar question to feats. Does he get all his tricks now? Or can I train him, perhaps with Kaeso's help, a couple of hours every day? And then how fast would you say he can learn a new trick?
* If I got Kitty an Enlarge Person fetish from Mornie, would he be able to activate it? Or would I have to activate it for him?
(Mornie-- this is the reason why I wanted the Enlarge Person spell, I can cast on Kitty, but another caster can't.)
Ohh, and don't worry GM Nel, I'm still gonna get my charm on. Maybe not like the uber enchanter, but still, verrry charming. ;)

GM Nel |

Right now he has these stats:
Starting Statistics: Size Small; Speed 50 ft.; AC +1 natural armor; Attack bite (1d4 plus trip), 2 claws (1d2); Ability Scores Str 12, Dex 21, Con 13, Int 2, Wis 12, Cha 6; Special Qualities low-light vision, scent
As a 3rd level AC he also gets:
total hit dice = 3
BAB +2
Fort +3
ref +3
will +1
3 skill ranks
2 feats
+2 nat armor bonus (on top of his +1)
+1 STR and DEX
2 bonus tricks
Evasion
Currently it can learn 8 tricks total (6 from having 2 int and 2 bonus)
He comes with 2 of your choice.
Training is presented in the handle animal section of the CRB. Basically you can teach it one trick per week PER rank in handle animal the trainer has.
Kitty is fit for travel (although currently only at 4 HP. He moves 50ft, which I think is the same as horse so you I think it can keep up.
ACs can't activate magical items that take a standard action to do so, so you'd have to.
I think I got everything.

![]() |

Thank You! I'll organize my thoughts about which feats and tricks we'll start with, and put them on the character sheet shortly.
And I think Ionnia healed Cheetah for another 10 hp at the bottom of the previous gameplay page.
Oh, and thanks also for working me kitty into the storyline :)

![]() |

Sorry more questions. I've never had an animal companion in pathfinder before.
Feats:
1) Weapon Finesse
for 2) I'm considering
Agile Maneuvers (I would get this to enhance cmb for tripping. But does kitty's trip automatically succeed if the called attack succeeds? if so, agile maneuvers is redundant.)
or
Power Attack
a)Does this stack with weapon finesse? since its dex, not str to calculate attack. and
b) am I reading correctly for damage? it would be +2/+1/+1 to damage with the 3 natural attacks?

Mornaura |

I'm not Nel but I'll chime in on that anyway. :P
2.) From what the FAQ says, if you have weapon finesse, you can disarm, sunder and trip using dex instead of str to calculate the CMB anyway (when you use a finessable weapon to make such a maneuver).
Agile maneuvers allows you to use dex instead of str to calculate the CMB for every maneuver. In your case (you already have WF) it only affects things like bull rush, drag etc (those that don't use a weapon).
Either way, the trip special ability allows a trip attempt as a free action after you succeed on the attack - it's its own action, so it's an extra roll (and it's vs CMD, while the attack before was against AC).
3a.) Power attack works (but you have to meet the 13 STR requirement - forcing you to spend the first attribute bonus your companion gets on that (small cats start with STR 12).
An alternative could be the piranha strike feat - it's similar to power attack in most regards, but doesn't have the str requirement.
3b.) Bite and claw are both listed as primary attacks, so his damage bonus should be +2/+2/+2.
