Nothing could go wrong right? Very safe place and the locals are so friendly. Just let the fire creature out in a building with pliantly of wood in it. I mean the last thing we let out went in our favor. By the Gods this place is evil. Scowling but not interfering with the conversation happening since she is a little lost in her thoughts.
Eyes widening when Daniel lets the fire creatures out. Sighing since she offered no opinion out loud Alexis quietly follows.
Sorry this last week any time I opened this campaign the website freaked out on me. Another one is doing it to!
Thanephos |
Thanephos looks at the group, I'm certainly no friend of those who would imprison someone unjustly. Unless there is any reason to do otherwise, I'll open the door for them.
Alexis Von Brant |
Glaring at Ty, It seems like it can be reasoned with and you threatened it.
Turning back to the fire creature and starting to follow. Wait! You cannot take vengeance on the undeserving. That would be like the wizard trapping you here and you are better than that right?
Alexis will at most more to the doorway but not into the room unless the others follow
Nazard |
"Yes! First, we must kill the Asmodean. He's the one who caused the Sheathe to appear. He was in charge of the wizard. The Zebub told me he's still upstairs, trapped by the same magic that made the Sheathe, unable to pass the threshold of his own chambers. Doomed to an eternal unlife of being under seige as he wishes to place Absalom. That's too good for him!"
The elemental moves towards one of the cannons. "If I fire the cannon, the backlash should destroy everything on this floor and detonate all these casks of powder. Nothing inside the Sheathe will survive. We will destroy the Asmodean!"
Thanephos |
Stepping towards the elemental, Thanephos calls out, Wait! There may be another way to defeat the Asmodean without destroying the building. We can help you find him, if that will sate your need for vengeance.
Thanephos |
No, but I do want to make sure that you aren't going to kill someone without just reasoning. You say he imprisoned you in an attempt to enslave you? And if we help you, what will you do once he is dead?
Thanephos |
Thanephos nods, Good enough for me.
With that, he steps forward to open the door.
Nobody has posted throughout this part of the conversation, so if someone objects then hopefully we can retcon, I'm just trying to keep things moving.
Nazard |
The east room looks much like the north, with casks and cannons, right down to a silver circle in the floor, but this one is vacant.
Quickly checking the others shows they are empty, too. Your friend from the north is the last fire elemental, who at this point is burning with anger. He makes to charge a cannon again, but you manage to talk him down.
You can make preparations to head upstairs to the fifth and final floor. Your friend has never been there, so he can't help you with layout, and all he knows about the Asmodean is that he's supposedly some sort of priest, and some sort of undead. I'll post a map and first description tomorrow after folks have weighed in on any preparations/buffs they'd like to do.
Alexis Von Brant |
Nope I have been watching the conversation and Alexis wouldn't have interrupted so I didn't post cause.
Standing quietly when Thanephos jumps in to the conversation and thankfully stays silent. Not trusting herself to make an judgments concern how the inhabitants of this evil tower behave. That sounds fine by me
Ty Purgest |
"Stay away from the arrow slits."
Ty will listen at the door.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 ...but he obviously can't hear anything over the fire elemental crackling away.
Nazard |
Ty opens the door and light floods into an empty, hexagonal room...empty save for two decaying corpses which begin to shuffle over towards you as soon as the door opens.
Initiative!
Alexis: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Daniel: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Rhylellia: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Thanephos: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Ty: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Sir Rollynd: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Scorchy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Enemies: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 11
Order: Party, Monsters
Party is up!
Ty Purgest |
Ty steps forward to allow others to flank him, but waits for a zombie to come within range before attacking.
Ty is Delaying his action until the zombies come in range. Then he will attack. Subtract the attack roll by 1 if he somehow gains the knowledge to switch from his spear to his warhammer.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Alexis Von Brant |
Kindly move me to C117. I am planning to use a point to attack twice.
Stepping up next to Ty and waiting for the corpses to shamble forward.
My preemptive rolls for when they move
Short sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Surprise strike: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 this damage bypasses DR
Do you want me to run Rhylellia while she is gone?
Daniel Proudmore Rose |
Daniel fires off an arrow.
attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Nazard |
Sir Rollynd and Sparky (much better than Scorchy) also step up and form a line.
The zombies shuffle forward, one of them taking two arrows before Alexis' sword shreds it (Ty misses).
Sparky: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Sir Rollynd: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Reflex save: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Sparky and Sir Rollynd do serious damage to the other zombie, but it still gets a swing at the halfling. The zombie catches fire.
Slam: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
The zombie misses and disintegrates into flaming pools of rotted flesh. The smell is...interesting.
Combat over.

The walls of this room have been cleared of all coverings and decoration; instead, a vibrant mural provides artistic interest. In the mural, which tells a story in several stages, a man bearing a symbol of an inverted pentagram stands proudly in front of a throne wearing a cloak that seems to billow in an unseen wind. Further on, the same man leads warriors in battle against a frail-looking man wearing the Eye of Aroden in a room that looks a lot like the shrine down below. Next, there is an image of a skeletal figure, still wearing the same cloak, sitting on the throne previously depicted.
Two doors lead out of this room, both bearing a coat-of-arms carved into their surfaces.

Knowledge History: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Taking a few minuets to clean her blade and arms of the dead blood. With a disgusted look on her face she mumbles to herself That was disgusting.
Once her blade is clean she sheaths it again and moves to look at the mural. Well that seems encouraging. Looking back at the others. Shall we continue looking around this dismal place?
Ty Purgest |
Ty nods in agreement. Then he'll listen at both remaining doors to see if he can hear anything.
NE door - Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
SE door - Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Thanephos |
History: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Thanephos stares intently at the coat of arms for a moment, then shakes his head and moves on, looking around for any signs as to which door they should take next.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Oops, slight error as I posted last without consulting notes. There was a very faint, flickering light that Rhylellia could see in her mirror.
You open the northeast door. In this room, there are two torches embedded in the wall, each covered with a cloth, and emitting only a small amount of light. At the north end of the room is a large, luxurious bed. An armoire sits along the west wall, and piles of plunder line the east. The room continues around the stairwell, and faint light flickers from that direction as well.
As soon as Ty steps inside, and before you can do more than just glance around, a voice calls from the darkness to the east. ”So, finally, somebody has breached the seal. Come further in. I wish to learn of the world outside these walls.”
The elemental's fire takes on a darker red. "The Asmodean!" it growls, though miraculously it does not rush off to engage the source of the voice.
