Okay, I'm thinking that I'll move so I'm beside Ty, blocking the dog from closing with Thanephos, since he's got his bow out, and then use guidance on Joneth to give him a little boost for attacking the doggy. I don't want to cut off Alexis, though, if she wants to get inside first. So ideally Joneth would hold off on acting until Athar gets the guidance off, assuming he plans on attacking.

Hey, all. I'll be out of town through Sunday. Aside from the Ditzie maps, I expect I'll still be able to log in and play, but in the event that Ty needs to be botted, his priorities are finishing off Bandit 4, then Bandit 3, and then probably circling around the stairs to west and going for the bandits there.
Ty Purgest |
And Ty just posted very recently, so he's still here.
I check the threads multiple times a day on the weekdays. I just try to avoid posting each time so that I don't dominate the conversations.
Do we want to find a sixth player?
Well, you originally only wanted four. I'm certainly not against replacing the sixth PC, but things might move faster with only five.
Alexis Von Brant |
Thank you Nazard :)
I agree with Ty on the five players. From what I little I have seen on the PbP is that they die with an inactive poster. Plus with less people there is less waiting for everybody to post before you do again.
And I too tend to check the threads many times a day but I do not post each time either. After the murderhoboing Alexis is going to be a little on the quite side while she arranges her priorities.

Ty's Level 1 to 2 notes:
New HP: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Bleah.
BAB +1
Fort and Will Saves +1
Added Fervor class ability, currently usable 3/day
New 0 and 1 level spell slot
Favored class bonus: +1/6 towards a new combat feat
1 skill point into Climb (to activate the class bonus)
Houserule ability enhancement: Constitution
Houserule combat enhancement: Shield
Also, I realized that I wasn't applying the Houserule armour bonus from 1st level correctly, so I adjusted that.
Ty Purgest |
You bet. Thanks.
Also, Nazard? Would you mind putting the leveling house rules in a spoiler box in the Campaign Info thread? Normally they would be fine at the top of the Recruitment thread, but they've already been updated at least once further down thread (that I missed all during 1st level, apparently), so it would be nice to have them all in one place. Thanks.
Thanephos |
HP: 1d8 ⇒ 1 Ty, and you thought you had some bad luck.
Thanephos will put his FCB into another skill point, and for my houserule bonuses I will take a bonus to AC and an enhancement bonus to Dex.

Since you're in the city, and the Seventh Church is helping you out, even though you fail to identify some stuff, there are folks there willing to help you out at no cost.
The wand is magic missile CL3 with 18 charges.
The potions are CMW x 2 and shield of faith CL 1
The scrolls are cure light wounds (arcane), gravity bow, and obscuring mist.
From the sale of items and gems, you get 835 gp.
Sale: 835 gp
Coins: 135 gp, 349 sp, 300 cp
Rewards: 3,000 gp
Total Treasure: 4007.9 gp
Shares each: 801.5 gp, with 4 cp left over to buy a round of ales (almost)
Feel free to make some purchases, but I'm going to assume you spend the night in Absalom and head back out first thing in the morning.
Just as a friendly suggestion, but you might want to consider each chipping in 150 gp, to buy a party cure light wounds wand.

Guys, after much deliberation, I am sorry to say that I will be bowing out of the game. Oddly enough, I find myself incapable of becoming invested in my character and finding his voice, so to speak. Not only that, but despite my initial excitement concerning the Mythic ruleset, I actually find that it may very well not be for me, at least not presently. Even at the 1st tier, I find keeping its various abilities in mind and on track a bit of a bother really and the feeling is bound to only grow worse as the mythic tiers increase in number and with them the mythic feats and path abilities as well.
I may very well regret leaving a game whose premise I find very interesting with more than its fair share of mystery, but alas, I must. I wish you all happy gaming and a great time. Though with the players and GM here I am sure you will have both.

That's today, but understandable, it happens.
For the rest of us, do we want to go ahead with 4? There were a few in the recruitment thread who wanted to be on the wait list. I can ask one of them.
Nazard |
We are lacking in melee capabilities (Ty is more defensive melee than offensive), arcane power (no big summons or area effects), and no trap-finding. A summoner or conjuration specialist would cover most of that easily enough. Looking at the list of almost made its, we have a tiefling slayer (melee and trap stuff), but his player recently dropped out of a recruitment due to RL concerns, a witch who never finished a background, and a brown fur transmuter (spells and polymorph to get into the melee).
Nazard |
At the moment we have:
Ty, the "Meat Shield" Purgest: divine spell support and keep the enemy off everybody's backs
Alexis: melee (though not huge damage)with monster knowledge and tactics
Thanephos: face skills, party buffer and supporter, ranged fighting
Daniel: face skills, ranged death dealer, minor healing support
We don't have a trap specialist, nor a big arcane caster. It's a homebrew game, so I'll adapt if we only wish to go with 4 PCs, but there will be a lot of old ruins to look through, and they usually have traps...
In one game I'm playing in, we needed a trap person, so I took the Extra Traits feat at last level and picked up the Trap Finder trait from Mummy's Mask, which is a hugely over-powered trait, but if anybody would like to go that route at third level, it would solve our problem of traps.

If the group is interested I have a friend who would love to join after the wedding. She said she would be happy to fill one the voids. And her eyes lit up at the idea of a rouge but she would be happy to be our caster and the healer if the votes go that way. I have babbled about he game, a lot. She has never done the play-by-post stuff but she has listened to me enough that learning it would be easy. If so let me know and I can help her make a PC starting Monday after the wedding and honeymoon.

Yes, I'd like to contribute to the wand.
I've added the 3 smokesticks and 2 thunderstones to Ty's inventory. I thought someone else wanted one of those, but I can't find where anyone said that.
I'm putting forward the following distribution of the magic items:
- Wand of magic missile CL3 with 18 charges: Thanephos
- Potion of shield of faith CL 1: Alexis
- Potions of CMW x 2: Alexis and Thanephos
- Scroll of cure light wounds (arcane): Thanephos
- Scroll of gravity bow: Daniel
- Scroll of obscuring mist: Daniel
- (If we buy the) Wand of CLW: Ty
Ty and Daniel can self heal in the midst of battle, if necessary, and the potions can allow Alexis and Thanephos to do the same. I have Ty with the potential wand because if it has to get used in battle, losing one of Ty's attacks to use a charge won't matter as much as losing some of the others.
If anyone disagrees with this, speak up. Otherwise, this can serve as a default distribution in case nobody claims any of the items.
