All right, I'm interested in a Heavy Shield of either Spell Resistance (13) or Spellsink. Would anyone be willing to roll a Knowledge (Local) or Diplomacy check to see if they can help Ty find one?

Sorry it was a really long weekend but I am back now. Rhylellia is really sick so I do not now when she will be up to getting out of bed and go to work or post. So I would bot her for now.
So for the wand can I put foward trying for either ant haul, Floating Disk, True Strike, Identify, Detect Secret Doors, or Alarm. I will work on what I want to buy.
I know I am going to want a ranged weapon and I will be getting better armor.
Does the 4825gp include the 500gp reward?

Alexis Von Brant |

Ok so 2000 gp to make my short sword a +1. Can I get a Mithral set of chainmail with the intent to turn it into Celestial Armor. I want that +8 dex bonus and the flying would be nice. If so then that is 1150 gp. If I get that +1 it is 2150 gp.

Ty Purgest |

There are no +1s in this campaign, remember? That's why we have all of those houserules giving us ability and stat enhancements. When you have the money, you can (hopefully) just spend the cost to give the armor the celestial quality.

Thanephos |

-Yes, it includes the 500gp reward
-There aren't +1s today, but equipment has to have a +1 bonus(even if it does nothing) in order to further upgrade it. That's why the flaming weapon is so rare, cause it's technically a +2 even if there's only the flaming that actually gives a bonus.

Nazard |

The only thing we don't have with these house rules is the banal + enhancement bonuses to attack and damage. Instead, once every 4 levels, you get to add a +1 bonus to all melee attacks and damages. It keeps you on par with roughly when you would normally gain access to a +1 weapon. This flaming sword is therefore an extremely rare item. It's all a flavour aspect, so you don't go through a dungeon and come out with arm loads of +2 longswords. When you find a magic weapon, it's priceless (not really, but very unusual).
I'll try to put together a post in game thread tonight about some leads on what you're looking for.

Alexis Von Brant |

Sorry for the confusion on my side I just want to try not to cheat on accident or short change myself. So I will be getting the +1 then upgrading it later.
Also need to get a ranged weapon and probably some other things. I have math to do after work.
I apologize for my slow response time. That family visit left me worn out. I had to reset my scheduled. I do not do days! Curse the sun!

Ah, I was completely off, then. Thanks for the clarification.

You still have to pay for the initial +1 for a suit of armour, even though it doesn't do much mechanically. Think of it as a tax to help make sure the more powerful effects aren't available to low level shmucks like you folks.
Sorry I didn't get a game post up last night. I'm on a school band trip herding 42 13-year-olds around out currently in the middle of nowhere, and wifi is spotty.

Alexis Von Brant |

That sounds insane. So many tiny humans.
I want the +8 to max dex on the armor but really that is all I want. Is there an enchant that lets me bump up the dex? I have yet to find one.
Also I am wanting an Ioun torch 75 gp, Sleeve of many garments 200gp, travelers any tool 250, x2 boarding axe 12gp, swapping out the kukri for a kukri cold iron 16 gp, long bow 75gp 1d8 x3100 ft. arrows x20 1gp, silk rope 10gp, x3 Antiplague 150gp, Antitoxin 50gp. Smelling Salts 25gp, Alchemical Glue 20 gp, Alchemical Glue Accelerant 25 gp, and I am sure I will find something else I want

Upgradable: This ability grants the bonded creature the ability to more easily increase the non-mythic magical power of the legendary item. If the base magic item has a version with a higher bonus or greater version (such as a +1longsword, a +2 light steel shield, a cloak of protection +3, an amulet of might fists +4, or a minor ring of inner fortitude), the bonded creature can improve it by performing a special ritual. She must spend a number of gold pieces equal to half the difference between the cost of the legendary item's current, non-mythic base item and the greater version she wishes to upgrade the item into. For example, she would pay 3,000 gp to upgrade a +1 longsword into a +2 longsword. This ritual takes 8 hours. When it's completed, the bonded creature transmutes the item's base version into the desired version. When upgraded in this fashion, the legendary item retains all legendary item abilities it had before the transmutation.
So I do not need other people :) Do you still want me to pay the full price since it wasn't magical before I selected the Legendary Item path ability.

Sorry, I'm going to sound like a jerk, here, but I don't mean to. I'm just pressed for time regarding researching my answers, and I don't want to hold things up if I can help it.
Ty gets a line on a junk dealer who may be able to help Alexis with another of her purchases. In a back alley, a cloaked and hooded figure you are almost positive is a kobold, hands you a pouch in exchange for coins. Inside, a flaming stone practically hums and vibrates to be let out.
Am I supposed to know what this is? Nothing's ringing a bell, and I've gone back up the Discussion thread a bit to scan Alexis' posts. If Ty doesn't know what this is, that's fine and we can role play it out. But Ty already paid for it, so I'm thinking it's something the party was looking for.
Also, is the party still scanning for this:
All right, I'm interested in a Heavy Shield of either Spell Resistance (13) or Spellsink. Would anyone be willing to roll a Knowledge (Local) or Diplomacy check to see if they can help Ty find one?
Or is this something I can't afford but requested before the homebrew magic item mix-up I had above was settled? Thanks.

You don't sound like a jerk at all.
The thing in the alley is Ty's contribution to Alexis' search for an ioun torch. Just me adding flavour to the shopping expedition.
As for the shield, I had forgotten you were looking for that, so thanks for the reminder. Did you ever decide which enchantment you preferred to find?

Ah, ok. I hadn't recognized it. Thanks.

Spell resistance is preferable.

Thanephos |

I really do, because the sword is practically useless to us with our party makeup, and having a flaming bow would be a great damage buff. You guys think it's worth it to try and learn about it?

Nazard |

Rhylellia, you can always feel free to make checks like those in social situations. I don't ask for them when there's something to find because then it alerts the players, and I don't ask all the time because it slows down PBP to a crawl.
Instead, unless you specifically make a check, I assume you've taken 10 on Sense Motive and Perception and if there is something going on, I compare that score to whatever result the other guy got (taking 10 if he/she isn't being consciously evasive.
So in this situation, definitely feel free to make a Sense Motive check. A Knowledge Religion check of DC 15 might also met some useful information about the High Councillor.

Yeah, I thought I saw this coming, but I didn't want to say anything in case I was wrong. Of course, I completely understand, and I'll say thanks for trying to continue the campaign even after you mentioned that your time was getting tighter. I was enjoying the campaign quite a bit when the post rate was strong, and if you ever want to pick it back up again, I'd be on board. However, if that seems unlikely, I'd also love to know where it was going to go.
Good luck with things, Nazard, and I'll see you around. By the way, I'm in another campaign with Alexis (Hi, Conri! This is Axton!), and I hope to see the rest of you around, also.
