the amount of ninjaed posts already in this thread XD XD XD
on another note, what level do you see this game progressing too?
on another another note, I had assumed they had, it one of the reasons I was looking for them and Valla. speaking of, is Venellopy in the group?

High level. Originally, I laid out the timeline and rough narrative skeleton to take the party right up to 20th level. Then, mythic stuff came out and I decided to incorporate it. Then, I spent another few years writing off and on and pondering, and finally felt ready to try playing it.
I'm not familiar with high-level play, never having gotten a character above 12th level (except one game where I had an 11th-level wizard with a vampiric template back in the days of level adjustments. He was fun to play, right up until the point it was his job to "stall" the 3 pit fiends until his friends could complete a crazy ritual, and one of the pit fiends was his ex-girlfriend who had spent the last few hundred years performing rituals to turn herself into a pit fiend. 11th-level wizards can't do a whole lot against pit fiends magically, but he was able to land a level-draining crit on her by smashing her nose with his fist...).
Ahem. Tangent over.
I have material planned adventure-path style for the first 3 "books", at which point I plan to string modules together in an older-fashioned style of play. For the last "book", I have no idea what will happen, as there's no way to predict how the PCs will have chosen to deal with certain events that will (or will not) happen. I'm guessing, if we continue all the way, which is hard with PBP but not impossible, that we will approach level 18, and mythic tier 6 or 7. Of course, should we finish the whole thing and still want to keep playing, I'm sure other things can be created...

As for the maps, I figured out what happened. When Daniel changed avatars, I went into my ditzie account album and deleted his picture, replacing it with the new one, which means there's a picture on the map that's not on my account, which the program reads as an unauthorized access.
Therefore, the whole map thing is Daniel's fault. Way to go, dude!
However, I took the opportunity to actually create tokens, so now all the PCs are surrounded by a friendly green circle.
As a way of making sure that Alexis' little gaffe with not using the correct version of the map doesn't keep happening, I suggest we number the map, and the next person to post a link increases the number by 1, so we can keep track of which version is the latest. If you didn't get a chance to practice with the old map, give it a try with this one.

an aasimar and a teifling eh? lol

By the way, I'm setting the start date of this game as Arodus 15, 4709. If you haven't already, I encourage you to select birthdays and other important dates for your characters as a way of further personalizing them. I'll try to remember to post the new date when we advance to a new day.
Although I'll be borrowing characters and settings from published modules and adventure paths, little that happens in this game will be dependent on events from those sources. For example, the game could very well get to Magnimar and Sandpoint, where you might meet Ameiko or Shalelu, but with no guarantee that events from Rise of the Runelords ever happened.

The spoilers in the gameplay thread are how I like to do things like Perception, Sense Motive, and Knowledge checks. Please make the necessary check, then look under all spoilers that your check beat (and try to resist the urge to peek at ones you didn't). It saves time as I don't have to wait for everybody to make the check, and then post or PM individual results.
And I also allow aid another for Knowledge checks, and can't understand why most people don't. Anybody who ever participated in a study group in school knows that it works!

did I bugger it up again?
also, theirs a pretty decent picture as far as accuracy goes on appearance for my character, if thats what your asking, its in my profile.

Not really, you just didn't put the number 4 so we know it was the fourth version (and therefore, the most recent) of the map.

Around his neck is a chain that holds a steel pendant. The pendant is painted with a picture of a gauntlet gripping strands of thorny briars that twist around the fingers, wrist, and arm.
I couldn't find a picture of Arqueros' holy symbol or any description other than "guantlet and briars", so the above is just my embellishment. If anyone has any other details, I'm all ears.

Cool. She will still hold the original thought on it unless shown or told otherwise. I am excited for some of the spells I want for it later. I bothered my group in the game I am running with that. Teleport is on the list I want. It is awesome :)
I have thus far ignored it and will do so until she touches the sword. And we have to at lest leave the Church for that.

Nazard |

Is it her short sword that's going to become a legendary item? Re-reading the rules, it looks like the legendary item should be a normal magic item that becomes legendary.
Now that's easily hand-waved away, but I was wondering if you wanted to wait on the legendary item ability until a special blade makes an appearance. Not to wait on taking the ability, mind you, because I think you will be at level 4 by the time you hit your next mythic tier, and I know you want to start enjoying it, but hold off on actually acquiring her legendary item until something special can be arranged.

Nazard |

As for the item's Ego, I think it's 0.
Since she's only first tier, she can only have one ability on her legendary item--intelligence. That means she has only selected that ability once, giving it mental scores of 10 (no ego modifiers). The item's base value is less than 1000 gp (no ego modifier), it has speech only (no modifier), senses 30 feet (no modifier), and no item powers (since she's only first tier, so no ego modifier).
Therefore, her smart sword has Int 10, Wis 10, Cha 10, and Ego 0. All in all, a pretty bland intelligent item, at least in the beginning. All she really gets from her item at this level, is an RP-companion, and the ability to add 1d6 to an attack roll or combat maneuver check that uses the weapon twice per day.

Nazard |

No secret plan, I was just going to offer you an in-game opportunity to come into possession of a "special" blade as part of a treasure drop, which could then become her legendary item, but her sword is already more than just a "bought it from the smithy before I left" item.
I would suggest that the intelligence awaken slowly over the first part of the adventure, perhaps a voice that shouts warning or a sense of being watched over (rather than just watched), as if the intelligence were making its way into the weapon bit by bit.

Daniel Proudmore Rose |

Ugghh I can't wait to see my legendary weapon at teir 2 :3

Do we want to RP out a dinner gathering, or skip ahead to the next morning?
Either way, folks who prepare spells will have the opportunity to make any changes they wish. On a meta-level, this is also last call for mechanical character build changes.
Also, feel free to make any purchases you wish. Mundane items of the level you can afford are all easily obtainable in Absalom. Your mission is to penetrate a centuries-old, sealed structure. As players, I'm sure you have a few ideas about what might be coming. ;)

Daniel Proudmore Rose |

I'm fine either way, do I see the halfling?

Alexis Von Brant |

I love the RP but I understand the want for plot. I can go either way. And anything I buy I will add to inventory. I just have to beat this world in Kingdom Hearts and my life can move on. Though I cannot carry the stuff I would buy like rope. But I will get chalk, water skin and some rations. I need a Yoshii. Ohh could my cohort be a dragon? And I will call it Yoshii?

I want a dragon named spike, also, which world? (KH fanatic here!) the only one I havent played yet is birth by sleep

Alexis Von Brant |

The Timeless world in KH2. That freaking fire and those horrible cars. I am horrible at video games. just horrible. They made me sing and dance in Atlantica... it sounded horrible and hurt my soul.
Oh and those of you that have yet to watch the show Galavant need to watch it. Hours of laughter.
And Boss Man that sounds perfectly reasonable. Another option is to do it in a different thread like the recruitment thread or the campaign thread.
And I like that you are playing to the stereotype with Alexis. Vel she seems like she will be fun to deal with if she sticks around.
I have noticed that with PBP you have to ask players to stop RPing to do plot sometimes while in live games you have to drag the players kicking and screaming into RP. Next session I run which wont be for months since we alternate games I am going to refuse to do combat stuff and tell them they have to RP with each other or NPCs. Hopefully this will work.

I made some guesses as to a likely marching order and posted it in the campaign tab (and here). Let me know what changes (if any) you would prefer.
Marching Order (single)
Alexis
Ty
Joneth
Daniel
Thanephos
Athar
Marching Order (double)
Alexis Joneth
Ty Daniel
Thanephos Athar
I also posted everybody's initiative modifiers there. Please make sure I got them right.
