The Grandfrogger carefully climbs down the side of the boat, ignoring the tiny figure giggling and splashing in the water below him. Once his feet - and the rest of him - are wet, the cloaked figure slowly sinks deeper and deeper. Red eyes watch for signs of danger, looking up towards the surface as much as down towards the sea floor.

Water breathing should still be active from before, so no other preparations at this time. Got some options for facilitate movement underwater, but want to wait to see what happens before picking one.

"Eh, you need rocks moving, or something else, yes?" Malachi asks the undines as he approaches.

Season of Ghosts

Maria is the first to respond to the undines' cries for aid and swims forward to take a closer look at the crumbling structure. Dr. O'mayga quickly confers with Hogo and begins the process of swapping one of his spells, certain that a well-placed Web will help shore up the building. Malachi also moves forward, a little behind Maria, inquiring if they need him to start digging out the two trapped undine. About the time that Maria finishes one circuit around the building and Dr. O'mayga gets his spell swapped out, a hissing, feminine voice is heard from close by.

"Clossse...ssso very clossse...ah!"

The voice comes from above and you see what you first take for a massive aquatic snake but as it gets a little closer you can see that it possesses a human-like face, framed by slender spines and brightly colored frills of blue and green. Taking no notice of the undines and their plight, the serpent's eyes settle on Hepsubia, still holding the glowing orb in one hand.

"That mussst be the sssource of the magic pulssse I felt," the creature continues to hiss. "It will make a fine addition to my collection. Give it to me at once, or sssuffer!"

Kn. Dungeoneering (DC 17):

Oh hey, it's a water naga. While not inherently wicked, they're often territorial and tend to view land-dwellers as lesser creatures.

For every 5 that you exceed the DC you recall one piece of information from this list.

Who Goes First?:

Zithembe Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Hepsubia Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Maria Init: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 4 = 23
Dr. O’Mayga Init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Malachi Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
The Grandfrogger Init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Naga: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Faint? (20%; Low is Bad): 1d100 ⇒ 7
Clockwise from top left 1d4 ⇒ 3

Things keep going from bad to worse as one of the four undines trying to hold up the crumbling building wobbles and then with a groan collapses, having fainted from exertion!

You've got some options here:

(1) Someone can step in and take the fainted undine's place to help hold the building up
(2) You can resuscitate the undine by doing basically anything that restores at least 1 HP to them
(3) You can make a Disable Device, Kn. Engineering or a relevant Craft/Profession check to reinforce the building and reduce the total number of people needed to hold it up (currently you need 4 people to hold it up). Maria, if you want to spend your standard action to do that on this round then I'll use the Engineering check you already made.

As he talks, he starts swimming forward, but realizes it's just too dang far. So instead, he simply tears open a gap in space, slithers through, and instantly reappears next to Malachi, and taps the tengu-pus again.

Hogo can grant Doc a reroll of a Kn check 1/day with a +1 bonus.

Dimensional Slide:The arcanist can expend 1 point from his arcane reservoir to create a dimensional crack that he can step through to reach another location. This ability is used as part of a move action or withdraw action, allowing him to move up to 10 feet per arcanist level to any location he can see. This counts as 5 feet of movement. He can only use this ability once per round. He does not provoke attacks of opportunity when moving in this way, but any other movement he attempts as part of his move action provokes as normal.

Maria easily squeezes her information in between the gaps of the Doctor’s dissertation, then begins confidently commanding the Undines as to how to effectively fix the building.

I’ll use my standard for that, yes.

She pulls out a wand (CLW), ”I’ll help this one that passed out, you all negotiate with the nice Naga.”

Season of Ghosts

Dr. O'mayga, with some prodding from Hogo, recalls that water nagas have a poisonous bite and some spellcasting ability but otherwise don't possess any particularly remarkable attacks or special abilities. He then uses his own magical power to slide through dimensions in the blink of an eye, popping up next to Malachi. The samsaran bestows some helpful magic upon the tengupus.

Maria is quick to reassure the group that water nagas don't possess any notable resistances or vulnerabilities as she directs the undine on the most effective way to redistribute their remaining efforts, which serves to reinforce the crumbling building. She then pulls out a healing wand, clearly meaning to revive the fainted undine with it.

The building now only needs 3 individuals to hold it up and keep it from collapse.

The Grandfrogger puts two grey fingers in his mouth and blows as if to whistle. The sound that emerges is unexpected - a low, rumbling sound that washes over the ruins harmlessly. A few seconds later, something… whinnies? in response.

A pair of creatures with front halves like horses and back halves like dolphins… gallop? through the water. The small grippli pulls himself onto one of them and points at Hepsubia’s floating form. The other cries out again, then rushes to the elf’s side.

Doc looks back and forth between the naga and the collapsing ruin, not sure which is more critical to deal with. He just floats there weightlessly until Hogo scrapes his scalp on the side of the collapse, and then again on the side of his head closest to the naga.

"Yes, yes, ... I'm going," he murmurs as he begins swimming in the direction of the naga. But then he turns and casts his  web spell back at the structure. He aims it to coat the building, providing it with an outer mesh that sticks and binds the pieces together.

Hogo suddenly flails about. "Hmmm, you're ... right. That might work ... on her, too."

Season of Ghosts

Rather than focus solely on one problem over the other, Dr. O'mayga opts to prioritize. Though he maneuvers himself closer to the naga he still has plenty of range on some of his magics, which he uses to encase the building in a sticky web and hold the crumbling pieces together! Zithembe and Malachi also advance on the naga, weapons at the ready. Both notice that despite being a rather sizeable creature, water nagas seem to have little stubby arms. And both them also *appear* to strike true, only to see what they thought was the real deal pop and vanish before their eyes.

2 images popped!

The undine who still grapple with stabilizing the building seem to be holding their own for now, while the other two take advantage of the group's efforts and take a breather.

"Found safety and succor, you have." The Grandfrogger's red eyes flash, and a long pink tongue flows out from under his woolen hood to touch the nearby undine.

Using Touch of Succor hex to remove any fatigue (but not exhaustion) the SW undine might be experiencing.

Satisfied that the Grandfrogger and Maria have the situation at the ruins under control, Doc turns his attention to the naga. He decides that while the web spell would be interesting, her positioning doesn't give him anything to anchor it to. Except his allies, which while amusing probably wouldn't end well.

Her positioning.... Hmmm, perhaps, though there is something I can do about that.

His hand dips into a pouch and draws out a black gem so dark as to almost absorb the light around it. Upon closer examination, one would realize it's not absorbing the light, but is instead absorbing the living auras of any nearby creature. Hogo shies away from it instinctively, and a school of little fish suddenly dart away as even they sense the energy of death in it.

Rubbing the gem with a pinch of salt - sea salt, of course - Doc calls upon his knowledge of anatomy to grasp the naga's own skeleton and twist it in on itself. The naga's body shakes and bulges as her skeleton fights itself inside her own body, tearing at ligaments, popping tendons, and grinding bone against bone.

The Grandfrogger offers succor to remove the fatigue plaguing one of the undines, who noticeably perks up as a result and gives the grippli a grateful look. "Thank you! I think I'll be okay for now!"

Dr. O'mayga once again considers his options before opting to thoroughly rattle the naga's bones; she shrieks with pain and surprise as she's also shunted about 5 feet to the north!

Maria quickly suggests the undines try to rescue their trapped comrades now that the building is more stable before turning and hustling towards the battle.

Dathivi bares her sharp teeth in a snarl as she attempts to bite Zithembe - the fangs come close but the shabti is thankfully able to dodge the attack. She then tries to gracefully put a little distance between herself and her attackers, though her movements are anything *but* graceful. Failed acro; provokes from Zith & Malachi as she moves away.

Neither shabti nor tengu feel their weapons strike true, but their efforts aren't entirely in vain as the naga's last two images are destroyed!

Hepsubia-Bot continues to urge her mount forward as she sings, finally drawing close enough to the naga to bring her sword to bear as it crackles with electrical energy. Unfortunately the naga sees the blow coming from a mile off and easily avoids it.

Meanwhile, the undines take advantage of the aid you've given them; while two of the four continue to help keep the structure from collapse the other two begin to work on digging their trapped companions out.

Zithembe makes a desperate swipe at the multiple nagas as they swim away before following afterwards. Once caught up with the naga, he strikes again.

Zitembe is above the naga, but placing him there makes his aura interfere with everyone else.

Season of Ghosts

GM Stuff:

1=Real Deal
1d4 ⇒ 4 --> image popped

Hepsubia strikes out at the fleeing naga and then again as she urges her mount to catch up, but neither attempt manages to hit the real deal or even pop an image.

Zithembe has somewhat better luck as he moves in and strikes from above once more, popping an image.

Season of Ghosts

GM Stuff:

Will (DC 18): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Maria finds herself getting tired of the relative stalemate as she swims closer and fires another bolt at the naga. The projectile zips by Dathivi, unfortunately not even close enough to pop an image.

The Grandfrogger also grows tired of these shenanigans as he fixes the naga with red, glowing eyes. Dathivi shivers a little but doesn't seem as affected as The Grandfrogger would like.
