My understanding is that this is not some random spider, but something suspiciously bigger. Like, getting into camel spider territory (which is enough to get it killed on sight even without knowing it to be somebody's familiar; Google "camel spider" at your own risk).

Can I have it crawl on the ceiling, or does it teleport to the floor automatically?

Ah, fair enough. No googling necessary... :/

I hadn't thought about it; does it make a difference?

Well I figured people would be less likely to notice a spider on the ceiling, and guys with simple swords and daggers (or claws/bites) would have a hard time hitting it.

I see people post using Wayfinder all the time in other PbP and I see you guys use it and I have a sneaking suspicious that Spidre/Pietro may have helped make it but what is it?

It is an app I made to help me manage all the PbP games I was in. I got tired of having to be at a computer or trying to work the tiny mobile browser on my phone, so I created Wayfinder. Unfortunately, changes in SSL caused it to stop working in older Android versions, but Android 5 and up has it fixed. I need to upload a new version, but I've not had a chance to work on it in quite a while.

For future social interactions we should obviously follow Spidre's lead.

Remember waaaaay back when you guys were told that prisoners who were kept alive (but tortured) would turn into more powerful undead creatures than those who died and then got animated? Just sayin'.

Did the dwarf to wight thing happen in the computer game too? If you tried to help him I mean?

Actually, if memory serves, the dwarf just kind of says something unhelpful and drops dead. Meanwhile, wights just sort of start getting included in encounter groups (which, 9 times out of 10, were completely unconnected from the story). I decided to modify things so that the dwarf getting whipped would introduce the new enemy type (if you didn't kill him, that is).

Simultaneously, I had to make up the thing about the four gems allowing Koriszegy to convert living victims into more powerful undead than what can be animated from corpses; in the source game, those gems are simply how he's able to create undead at all, but that doesn't really work in 5E where undead-creation spells are easily accessed. And since I added that reason for the gems' existence, I thought I could give that dwarf a job in driving home that element of the setting.

So, long rest? I think that improves me to just one level of exhaustion, which has implications I can't remember.

Also, I'm assuming Pietro casts his spell again/now/one time.

Ah, meant to mention: the life-drain from the ghouls and wights recovers differently than actual fatigue. A short rest recovers 1d4 levels, while a long rest or a casting of lesser resto will recover all of it.

Nah, you've still got it.

Alright, if you're doing a short rest, nothing interrupts this time, so go ahead and roll your stuff (or use those earlier rolls if you prefer).

I'll also spend the time putting Spidre's exploits into song - anyone who spends at least one hit die gains an additional 1d6 hit points via song of rest.

Now Thyra has to spend some hit dice to get enough HP back, phew that was scary.

I'll also nominate Thyra for an inspiration point for stopping me from killing the obviously (nearly) undead dwarf.

I'll second both of those, I'll go one further and nominate Spidre for inspiration for his Told You So sword routine early when fighting the ghastly dwarf .

I've got a new baby nephew on my wife's side whom I'm gonna travel out of state to go visit, so I'll be unlikely to post in the next couple of days. In the meantime, feel free to discuss and work out who's in and out of the room and exactly how you're gonna execute this plan, since it seems not everybody was on the same page.

Congratulations on the new nephew! I think Thyra will stand under the portcullis, holding it open, with Pietro's help so that people can move freely.

That all hinges on her and Pietro being able to hold it open, if we can't, I'd rather us not get totally locked out of the room so I advocate we start in the room.

Can I have everybody sound off, declaring whether you each want to be in or out of the room when you enact your plan?

I don't know whether this means you want to be inside or outside.

Okay, so:

Spidre and Halsere are outside the room.
Mirrel is inside the room.
Pietro is under the portcullis but will leap outside if need be.
Thyra is under the portcullis but will leap inside if need be.
