I am quite excited to see what happens.


I'll be traveling to celebrate my wife's birthday (one of her few "real" birthdays, as she's a leap year baby), so there might be a bit of silence this weekend.

I'm going to be a while, I'm afraid (like twenty four hours from now, I suspect).

I get a bard spell, a cantrip (which I seem to have forgotten to get last level) and two spells from any class which is pretty cool.

I'm very open to suggestions - I figured Crusader's mantle might be useful given you lot get lots of attacks and radiant damage is bound to be useful against an undead baddie and his minions. I also wondered about bless - it's a pretty awesome buff (and then I might trade bane out for some other bard spell.) As I say - glad to hear any opinions.

Wizards don't get much in the way of feats BUT I do have access to level 3 spells now so 'Hello Fireball'. I'll do the levelling over the weekend.

I've just been back over the thread kind of in a hurry and by my count we found the following this time round:

4345 gp 7sp (Mainly the dragon hoard, three golem-gems and a handful from maze guardians)

Melmac's axe - carried by Thyra
Melmac's ring - did that end up with anyone? I read lots of people passing up the chance

Cleric's +1 sling - I've taken that

Dragon's +1 shortsword, +3 vs dragons - Spidre
Dragon's ring of fire resistance - Halsere (?)
Scrolls of Web and Fireball - Halsere again (presumably you'll scribe these into your spellbook)

So by my count we have Melmac's ring to clarify who's wearing and 869 gold pieces each.

I'll keep a running "party treasure" in my profile and be better at keeping track this time (hopefully).

Finished - I learned dispel magic and also took bless and crusader's mantle as my 'magical secrets'.

Jiggy are you fine with us multiclassing? Mirrel's getting a bit inspired by his heroic companions and also alarmed at this slumbering evil that's been allowed to grow unchecked. I'm thinking of multiclassing into a paladin (taking the oath of vengeance).

It's only partly due to falling unconscious all the time.


I'm completely fine with multiclassing. I'll caution you that multiclassing between spellcasters can get a little complicated, but if you don't mind the extra homework, it's fine by me.

Just occurred to me that I haven't posted details for Specularum shopping yet, so here's the breakdown:

A simple, one-handed weapon costs 800gp for +1 or 1,400gp for +2.
A simple, two-handed weapon or a martial, one-handed weapon costs 1,200gp for +1 or 2,000gp for +2.
A martial, two-handed weapon costs 1,800gp for +1 or 3,000gp for +2.

Light armor costs 800gp (plus the base price) for +1 or 1,800gp (plus the base price) for +2.
Medium armor and shields cost 1,300gp (plus the base price) for +1 or 3,000gp (plus the base price) for +2.
Heavy armor costs 3,000gp (plus the base price) for +1 or 5,500gp (plus the base price) for +2.

Spell scrolls can be purchased for 500gp per spell level, for any spell up to 4th level. Alternatively, for 200gp per spell level, spells of up to 4th level can be added to a spellbook in a matter of minutes.

Potion of fire resist: 200gp
Potion of invisibility: 200gp
Ring of fire resist: 5,000gp
Potion of healing: 50gp
Potion of Extra Healing (4d4+4): 200gp
Ring of Protection +1: 3,000gp

Your own gear can be sold for half price (using these prices).

If anyone needs some gold, Thyra has 1227 gold, she already has +1 full plate, +1 shield and a +2 battleaxe so I'm all for trying to get others some magical gear. Spidre I think only has that badass +1 dragonbane shortsword so I could help him buy another one +1 or even +2 shortsword or help Pietro buy a +1 hammer.

I think I'll buy a +1 dagger and a potion of invisibility for 1000gp total. Oh, and 2 more sticks of spider summoning for 40gp.
I will also take the time to make sure my +1 weapons are bonded.


Might I also suggest that Mirrel at least invest in studded leather armor? ;)

I'll spend 15 on a shield and a mace, leaving me with 854 of my share, for a total of 1250.9 gp. If no one else wants it, I'll sell my mundane greatsword for 25 gp too.

After spending 300 gp on diamonds, I have 975.9 gp cash.

The 500 is correct. Buying spells in the source game was expensive (and actually you couldn't even buy scrolls at all, just pay for scribing), so I'm trying to reflect that.

But I wouldn't worry too much; you guys haven't gotten to the BIG loot yet. :D

Yep, that's current. It's the same day you arrived in Specularum.

As for call lightning, people who have spent all day in the woods have a chance of not realizing that the storm cloud overhead materialized instead of blowing in. Perhaps the bigger concern might be getting within range and being heard saying your abra-cadabras.

Not all. However, I've found myself entering long rests with spell slots and bardic inspiration dice remaining. That just seems like a waste to me.

I did think a hidden archer doing 3d6 sneak damage and firing with advantage was worth a few resources. Happy to take advice though - I'm not much of a tactical genius. :/

Were there any coins worth mentioning?

I've added the magic items to my profile (other than Spidre's new bow). How about a short rest to identify everything? (Just in case there's anything significant) then we can interrogate the prisoner for the location of their main base.
